You can also soft reset the game with l+r+start without using the home menu

Cool video. I know it's been done before, but yours is the best take I've seen. 3D Land is a very underrated and forgotten game, and these kind of videos make me remember just how unique the levels are.

Though my brother plays it more often.
@@Iron8127 I own every single game in the series, with the sole exception of Investigations 2. But I have still played the English fandub through an emulator, which in my experience is easier than homebrewing a 3DS.

@@DrRank I think what would be cool for 3D World coinless is that you would have to use Mario for the entire run, but you can switch him out for another character if something is impossible for Mario, and once that level is complete, you switch back to Mario.

Yeah, the shininess goes away if the Assist Blocks even appear. The only way to get them back is to reload your save or start a new game.
The earliest instance of this completion "mechanic" that I can think of was in NSMB Wii. I've been wary of making any kind of assist appear in other Mario games ever since, even though most of them don't punish you for it lol.
