I remember also. My choir teacher was crying, too. We did a tribute concert a few weeks later. I had an awesome choir instructor in middle school. I was already a fan of Croce's and doing that concert meant so much. I already knew all the words to every song we did. It was a great time. A.J. knocked it out of the park here.

I liked it and that's coming a 48 year old black guy. I have jim blasting in my truck while making deliveries. Sometimes I get a look of shock out people. I think the music of the 70s. Was so good. Songwriting was real and deep. Thanks.

A.J. Your Dad and Granddad lived five houses away from me where I grew up. They lived on Anderson Ave.in Drexel Hill. They both sang in the parish music shows. I have a show program from 1965. my dad was the MC. Mr Croce senior sang a solo. Young Jim was in the chorus. I would see Jim around the neighborhood, he was my older brothers age. What a sensitive soul and brilliant singer songwriter, storyteller Jim was. Deeply missed, the songs so deeply felt forever.

The guitar playing is nice, I like how he sings the chorus, it's more a tribute to his Dad than an imitation, and that's how it should be. Yes, the people talking in the crowd are rude, at best.

God Bless you, AJ, for keeping you dad's legacy alive. I know he's looking down from Heaven and smiling on you. He'd be proud that you chose to follow in his footsteps. You sound a lot like him, too. It's a comfort to those of us who remember and miss your dad. Guess the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. I, for one, am grateful. :)

The first album I had was Jim and Ingred, Vespers was one of the songs and the singing and guitar work were striking. Jim's ability to write and tell a story was beyond compare. Jim and Maurry were a great guitar team. The plane crash was for my generation like Buddy Holley death. The music didn't die but passed through the hands of generations to come. I am 70 years old now and still touched by the beauty of the songs, Time in a Bottle is a classic.

I want to say this, Jim Croce should've been in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, he's long overdue. Despite the two number ones Jim Croce had on the charts in '73 ("Bad Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time In A Bottle"), "Operator" is my all time favorite Jim Croce song. The way A. J. sang it, his father would've been proud and is smiling down from heaven.

OMG, he sounds just like Jim when he was younger! I am so sorry he did not get to be with his daddy growing up. I hope there were some home videos made before he passed away that he could watch his daddy and somehow relate to him that way. My daughter's daddy died 11days before Christmas in 1989 when she was 5, almost 6. We didn't have videos but had a few pictures. Whenever someone asks me what my favorite song is, 100% of the time I say, "Time in a Bottle." I try not to hear it too often because it always makes me cry.....always.

The perfect tribute to his wonderfully gifted father Jim Croce by his gorgeous son AJ who he loved so dearly. And also Maury's virtuosity. This was no easy task for them but performed it with joy and passion and no little skill. Thank you both.

I wondered, immediately, the same thing. It's crass and disrespectful. Thanks for asking this question. Peace.

Everyone has heard of the phrase, "people suck"! Those people are the perfect example of where that phrase came from! Jim Croce, music will never get old!!!
