My God, this content is like a documentary, it is just perfect!! I love when you explain all the details of the molecules/raw ingredients and I do enjoy the clarity with which the review is presented
This is first men fragrance created by TF brand when Tom Ford went solo leaving Gucci and YSL. (2007) I agree it doesn't own massive sillage and projection. That is what I love about it. Very elegant and pleasant intimate perfume which lasts on my skin 8-9 hours as a skin scent of course. I am a person who do not need projection monsters and this is the style of perfumery which I really love. This sweet amber blended with chypre aspects and citrus blast on the start is beautiful to me personally. Yes it is not private blend range definitely, but this is very elegant and beautiful perfumery. One of my personal wardrobe favorites. I have worn it today actually. I do not think it is dated at all. Very appreciated review and criticism. Great content and details.
I wear this mostly in spring/summer when I'm only going to be out for a couple hours running errands or such. The cleanliness of this scent is what really draws me to it. I'm also fortunate enough to own a bottle of Tom Ford for Men Extreme which I would give a 10/10.
To be fair.. as a mid-2000s release, it IS a bit dated. I love the overall scent,.. very classy and classic men's cologne-style blend. The longevity doesn't bother me that much. Sometimes you just want to smell good for a few hours. It's a great after-shower perfume or something to throw on in the spring/summer daytime for a quick trip into town or to go shopping when you don't want something to stay with you for the whole evening.
I love this for wearing around the house for two reasons (1) it's so comfortable and relaxing for me, and (2) it's as you said ephemeral, so it's nearby when I'm ready to reapply it.
Having had both the TF for Men and TF for Men Extreme I find both extremely versatile. For men is a great fragrance for the workplace, where you wish to smell nice but not overpowering to others. The scent dries down to where someone would have to be in very close, almost personal proximity to really experience it. As for Extreme, well, it has much more personality. On the nose there is much more tobacco, woods and earthy notes. It opens very nice and the dry down is great as well. My only qualm about these two was the performance. Sometimes it may require another spray later in the day, which is fine! It's a shame TF discontinued these two because they were accessible, affordable, and really well done. I find the modern fragrances are more driven by marketing than the actual perfumery. The original Signature and Private Blend lines were the best when first released. Great review!
would be great if you could review guerlian absolut d’orient santal royal at some point! it’s a rose and sandalwood/oud fragrance and i think it’d be right up your street :)
The last strong bottle I had was back in 2009. It lasted 24 hours on clothes and it had a smoke lounge vibe. A classic midd day gentleman's club vibe. If you search you might find the old reviews that do Parise it back in its former glory days before the reformulation
Ordered this morning more Hard Candy and Tabac + Boss B and Blood Orange :D. Crossing fingers for a sample of Oxy lol. Great stuff, can't wait to see what you have in store for '23.
I own it, purchased when it first came out, this was probably the priciest scent I had bought up to then. I found the scent to be unique from other scents, I think it works well on my skin, what I preffer is to not project my scent TOO much into a room, I like when I am close to someone, hug, handshake etc that you get the essence. Its not flashy but it is understated elegance and masculine. I have like half an ounce left from my 100ml bottle now 2023. Great review.
I have this but I hardly reach for it. It's so basic. I reach for other fragrances without even thinking of this one. To be fair, I owned a couple of other Tom Ford fragrances before I got this one, maybe that's why it's so underwhelming. Great video as always. Thank you.
Thanks for the quality content Aaron. Informative, insightful and presented in a manner as smooth and comforting as a beautifully crafted fragrance. ❤️
Would love it if you gave an alternative to this fragrance, preferably stronger performing. Its a nice scent, just got my sample, and tried it on my skin but as you said it is kind of 'mild' and for the price tag... I'd probably get something else. Nice review.
No me antoja comprar una fragancia que no dure AL MENOS 6 horas. Está bien considerar dos aplicaciones en el día, pero tener que llevar el frasco en el maletín para estar replicando cada hora, es impensable. Gracias por su revisión.
I wear this with 6-7 sprays in order to get some decent performance out of it.. it sits closer to the skin.. its a safe fragrance, that's for sure, you can wear this to any occasion and not offend anyone
Tried this and Costa azzurra edp a little while ago. Loved both, but I bought CA first. Plan to get for men at some point. I would probably just wear this one at home or only going out for an hour or so
my signature scent for the past 7/8 years. plus my bottles are quite old so no problem with performance for me. my last until the next day. might have to get a fresh batch and see what's going on. I would love to see a review on TF for men extreme, got 5 bottles of that stuff. 😁
As always, a great and thorough review, good job! I wonder if you could review the D&G The One Luminous Night, it has a very interesting note of dates, and I’d like to hear your thoughts about the fragrance
This came out in 2007 so its getting on a bit at 15 years old - its very middle of the road but pleasant. You mentioned Cashmeran etc - originally cashmeran was copyrighted by IFF - maybe back then a lot of these aromachemicals that we take for granted now were more expensive to produce or the Copyright was more closely guarded so they were not as freely or cheaply available as they are now (?)
Great review! Been waiting for this because it is one of my favorite scents. I always thought of it as a barbershop lavender... but that's not in it. I only get 3-4 hours and need to re-apply at lunch for the 2nd half of the day.
Muy buena reseña, sentí lo mismo al probar el perfume de Tom Ford Ford men, anticuado, débil, deslucido. Pienso que por menos dinero hay cosas más actuales y con mejor proyección y duración. Continúa así Aaron, saludos
Great review! I think the initial smell is ok, fresh slightly spicy and safe but it is a bit dated. Came out in 2007 so it is of that 00's period. The performance and longevity of this is poor for sure. I've got a 2018 bottle and quickly becomes a skin sent after about 1-2 hours. Struggle to smell it on skin after 4-5 hours so is not worth the money now I think. Tom Ford for Men extreme is more interesting as it takes that classic fougère and adds truffle to it and is darker. Gives it a more mature man smell but is discontinued.
I have this and enjoy it that being said it doesn’t really last long it’s a good choice for older men but it does have poor longevity it actually wears like cologne concentration. I find it classy it’s good for work if you have a desk to keep it in. For me it’s in the same wheelhouse as ADP colonia intense. I work as a nurse ands have to find clean professional frags that won’t offend sick people this one works well
Aaron ! I beg you now, if you could honestly produce a masculine smell of success it would honestly be the vintage original polo green by Ralph Lauren (cosmair) it was absolutely beautiful, there's nothing nowadays that remotely compares to the original, just lovely stuff, tbh perfection was made in the day ❤. @@dusanninic5372 recently I purchased ELITE by floris of London, its the closest thing I've found to the original polo, quite affordable aswell, I've also discovered that floris actually released lotion elite in 1853 as a shave cream but didn't bottle the scent until 1979/1980. Virtually the same thing was released as polo in 1979 by Ralph Lauren.

Performance is not good you are right . It’s ok but it feels dated but for that price if you think that Armani will be asking same or more for pure designer stuff it’s a sure buy for me
I love this juice but lasting and sillage are weak, on skin maybe to 6hr and projection is very close on skin. IMO luxury scent like a gold 9/10, parameters just 5/10, but despite a weak parameters I gonna buy another bottle.
Does anyone else go full on Aaron mode (except I just blag what I'm talking about )when explaining to folk who aren't frag heads ,how you smell so good 😂 love Aarons knowledge and passion.and his perfumery !! 👌🏴
One of my favourites! Just the performance is crap. If someone did an amped up version of it I’d buy a gallon without a seconds thought. It’s just too weak, it’s like a training wheels TF fragrance
I have it, but rarely wear it. I don't hate it but its synthetic and unremarkable on my skin. It's far less interesting than Grey Vetiver, Black Orchid or Noir
My God, this content is like a documentary, it is just perfect!! I love when you explain all the details of the molecules/raw ingredients and I do enjoy the clarity with which the review is presented

It’ll be nice to see your take on this DNA 🔥🔥🔥
I get this as being a very manly fragrance weak on the projection i just go a lil heavier on the sprays with this one
Makes you wonder if it was more powerful when it was launched as Estee Lauder does have a rep for reformulations.
If you only had the vintage before ifra reformulations circa 2010 the removal of the oakmoss fucked it up. It used to be more ambery too
Another great and honest review! 🙏🏼
