You cant fix the popping easily its just changing LOD’s very difficult to make them not pop in, with nanite you dont really need LOD’s so unsure why they have them in some other meshes that are not trees or bushes cause nanite vegetation still buggy and not performant

Only problem I have with the river, lake and swamp design is that there is no water plants underwater, just grass. Would look better with algae etc. The grass just puts me off tbh. But it's nice that moss and mud can cover you, nice detail! Good video Pete 💜
The devs got on the stress test with us recently and showcased some spooky dilo action in the darkness. The calls were top notch quality. Very creepy sounding. We could only catch glimpses because it was so fast, though. Ran circles around our herd... couldn't believe it was real at first

Ive been watching this game grow since i was 10, i used to watch isle content all the time when i was younger and still do. I’m so happy to see this game becoming the game it was always meant to be.
i am hoping it'll be easier to survive as a deino on gateway, there are more hiding spots but the water sources seem further away and far in between? the other day i nearly died of dehydration because i was trying to find bullfrogs and forgot where the water was xD plus with the addition of new dinos after gateway, maybe less people will be playing deino. idk, maybe deino will be in even higher concentration because of the lakes on gateway.
I think like regular crocs they will be in high populations, like overall less players than current map, but you will see more, as it seems the lakes will be hotspots for herds, its gonna be tough, but i imagine if you live like a traveler deino and dont stick in one part you will be mostly fine.
Its been stable! A few little locations might make fps swing, but its never for long. Its not like going to center on spiro, even though there was a bunch migrating at the same time
That lake is a freaking Beipi paradise! It will be so much easier and safe to swim around, avoiding crocs. I need this map. I would love to see all this from a Pteras eye view.
The gateway is absolutely stunning and massive. I get the feeling that there will be a lot more action with the new migrating system. Also how do you stay swimming at the same level while looking above the water. Also, is there a place as to where I can see the colour code for your deino skin?

That spot could be a lurking area, but they had made it to where a deino cannot jump out from shallow waters. Its way easier for a deino to hide on land in plain sight I can see, that'll make it even more fun! The way it goes from light to dark looks even better. I like how they made a way to go down some waterfalls. Lots more mud too not just small ponds of it. Details look amazing. Wow I love the moss latching on I'm sure id love to just play a deino and explore! Moss is better for the dinos to hide in their habitats. Underwater is more clear for a deino! Lots more blue too. I also noticed that deinos eyes glow in the water amazing detail! Having deeper waters is really nice more places for deinos to explore.
Some minor things here and there but it looks more optimizied. The environment is looks good also some effects and details. Once the supposed creatures will be added and the server may increase in size and amount then this game would be more fun to play around. My current problem is mainly the small server populations.
the little triangles in the river remind me of a type of road block or barricade material, kind of like the ones used in military to stop heavy vehicles and other large objects from having access to something...D-day were they lined obstacles to stop the allies from advancing to the shore also seem kind-of like that.
As another comment said, this could be a great series. Different areas of Gateway in this style of video to highlight the special parts of the map and the different biomes.
My god this is beautiful. I mean, the isle has always been a good looking game, even back in legacy (though that obviously doesnt compare to evrima). And this map just highlights how absolutely gorgeous it can really be. Only those shadows on the water buggin out is a bit offputting ^^
I know it seems stupid to be excited about this, but I’m so happy that gateway will have more hiding spots in the water. The underwater logs are so cool looking to be in, and the seagrass adds to the coolness.
While I love Gateway's design, I hope Deino lunge gets a functionality retool. With how wide and deep water sources are, the stamina struggle has turned from a thrilling low-but-existent possibility of escape to a boring respawn-wait-timer. If the Deino takes you down, there is no chance, you're already dead as there's no way you're swimming that far without being bitten to death. Deinos won't even have to conserve stam properly, they just need enough to run you to the bottom then bite to death on the way up.
Accurate, it's a realistic dinosaur game, so that sounds completely normal. Seems like there are plenty of shallow spots, places to hide and will probably be less deinos in one area overall due to the massive map, so you won't see them very often. I don't understand everyones complaints with deino, I've died to a croc once. If he doesn't insta kill, hes completely useless because he's not chasing you on foot. Sounds like you just want to drink water safely and have a dandy ol' pvp time, but that's not what the game is about.
Looks pretty dam good. Love that they put rainbows in when it rains. Rainbows are our heavenly father's symbol to us that the rain will stop and he will not flood the entire earth again. Really hope they address all those glitchy squares on the waters surface.
4:59, a really cool detail is that there is water on the camera as if, it was a documentary and a camera went underwater and there is drops of water on the camera. Pretty sure that wasn't there before, right? really cool detail.
2:30 those are a kind of road block or czech hedgehog that the military or other organizations will use to block roads and other areas from vehicles crossing. in this case, they were probably blocking the bridge from big dinos before they were moved
I really hope that they make the night cycle shorter, it’s a beautiful map and I’d like to be able to actually see it and play in it for a longer amount of time
Loving all the hiding spots for smaller creatures both above and below water. Though, I'm fairly certain I noticed a pool of water or something there in the cave?
Too bad there is still shadow problem on water surface, that however is up to UE to find fix to it...i think? Everything else looks amazing! Allowing you to just walk down small falls on rivers, moss staying on you and so much more. Excited to play this when devs feel it is ready to be launched!

Hey Pete, fellow Pete here having an issue where the water ripples around my deino has a light blue colour for some reason. Like its trying to reflect the sky but just looks horrible. Tried everything in settings and cant shake it. Have you experienced or heard of this? Cheers

I feel like Deino is going to be so hard on Gateway, the possibility to hunt anything other than other Deinos seems more limited. It will end up feeling like a separate game of Deino Vs Deino with people killing for fun rather than food.
For me it's been more than a year since I heard anything related to The Isle. What is "Gateway"? A new map upcoming? Any new dino added to be played? What about the AI? Thank you.

Maybe they supposed to mitigate the flood rush on the bridge when the flood gates are open at the lake, if they are connected and on the same river?

Only problem I have with the river, lake and swamp design is that there is no water plants underwater, just grass. Would look better with algae etc. The grass just puts me off tbh. But it's nice that moss and mud can cover you, nice detail! Good video Pete 💜

The devs got on the stress test with us recently and showcased some spooky dilo action in the darkness. The calls were top notch quality. Very creepy sounding. We could only catch glimpses because it was so fast, though. Ran circles around our herd... couldn't believe it was real at first

Ive been watching this game grow since i was 10, i used to watch isle content all the time when i was younger and still do. I’m so happy to see this game becoming the game it was always meant to be.
Things like that triangle can be used to mitigate waves impact on the shore. Don't know if it's the case here.
It's a nice mix of Legacy's Thenyaw and Evrima's "current" Spiro.

i am hoping it'll be easier to survive as a deino on gateway, there are more hiding spots but the water sources seem further away and far in between? the other day i nearly died of dehydration because i was trying to find bullfrogs and forgot where the water was xD plus with the addition of new dinos after gateway, maybe less people will be playing deino. idk, maybe deino will be in even higher concentration because of the lakes on gateway.
I think like regular crocs they will be in high populations, like overall less players than current map, but you will see more, as it seems the lakes will be hotspots for herds, its gonna be tough, but i imagine if you live like a traveler deino and dont stick in one part you will be mostly fine.

Its been stable! A few little locations might make fps swing, but its never for long. Its not like going to center on spiro, even though there was a bunch migrating at the same time
Fps issues are mostly due to the crap tonne of bodies all being in one place, I didn't see any bodies in this video.
We're finally getting cool places for deinos to live, in spiro its just shallow-ish rivers and swamps.
The new atmospherics and lighting set up on that map make such a huge difference wow!
That lake is a freaking Beipi paradise! It will be so much easier and safe to swim around, avoiding crocs. I need this map. I would love to see all this from a Pteras eye view.

That spot could be a lurking area, but they had made it to where a deino cannot jump out from shallow waters. Its way easier for a deino to hide on land in plain sight I can see, that'll make it even more fun! The way it goes from light to dark looks even better. I like how they made a way to go down some waterfalls. Lots more mud too not just small ponds of it. Details look amazing. Wow I love the moss latching on I'm sure id love to just play a deino and explore! Moss is better for the dinos to hide in their habitats. Underwater is more clear for a deino! Lots more blue too. I also noticed that deinos eyes glow in the water amazing detail! Having deeper waters is really nice more places for deinos to explore.

Some minor things here and there but it looks more optimizied. The environment is looks good also some effects and details. Once the supposed creatures will be added and the server may increase in size and amount then this game would be more fun to play around. My current problem is mainly the small server populations.
The swamp looks so great! I hope many more swamp-dwelling disosaurs will be added in the future.
3:10 new map looks nice could hide from big Cannibals in that area 💯💯
the little triangles in the river remind me of a type of road block or barricade material, kind of like the ones used in military to stop heavy vehicles and other large objects from having access to something...D-day were they lined obstacles to stop the allies from advancing to the shore also seem kind-of like that.
As another comment said, this could be a great series. Different areas of Gateway in this style of video to highlight the special parts of the map and the different biomes.
My god this is beautiful. I mean, the isle has always been a good looking game, even back in legacy (though that obviously doesnt compare to evrima). And this map just highlights how absolutely gorgeous it can really be.

I know it seems stupid to be excited about this, but I’m so happy that gateway will have more hiding spots in the water. The underwater logs are so cool looking to be in, and the seagrass adds to the coolness.

While I love Gateway's design, I hope Deino lunge gets a functionality retool. With how wide and deep water sources are, the stamina struggle has turned from a thrilling low-but-existent possibility of escape to a boring respawn-wait-timer. If the Deino takes you down, there is no chance, you're already dead as there's no way you're swimming that far without being bitten to death. Deinos won't even have to conserve stam properly, they just need enough to run you to the bottom then bite to death on the way up.
Accurate, it's a realistic dinosaur game, so that sounds completely normal. Seems like there are plenty of shallow spots, places to hide and will probably be less deinos in one area overall due to the massive map, so you won't see them very often. I don't understand everyones complaints with deino, I've died to a croc once. If he doesn't insta kill, hes completely useless because he's not chasing you on foot. Sounds like you just want to drink water safely and have a dandy ol' pvp time, but that's not what the game is about.
Looks pretty dam good. Love that they put rainbows in when it rains. Rainbows are our heavenly father's symbol to us that the rain will stop and he will not flood the entire earth again. Really hope they address all those glitchy squares on the waters surface.

2:30 those are a kind of road block or czech hedgehog that the military or other organizations will use to block roads and other areas from vehicles crossing. in this case, they were probably blocking the bridge from big dinos before they were moved
2:24 Pretty sure those are just things used to make a breakwater for floods. Like the concrete tetrapods that are placed along shorelines.

Night cycle has been reduced already. Day is still 48 minutes, night has been reduced to 24.

I feel like Deino is going to be so hard on Gateway, the possibility to hunt anything other than other Deinos seems more limited. It will end up feeling like a separate game of Deino Vs Deino with people killing for fun rather than food.
