I enjoyed this battle. JSU's tubas saved them on a few songs(IDGAF was one of them). You can tell the difference in them from the start of the season to now. I still think they sound much better when they don't play like Southern; find balance. Both bands were battle-ready, but one seemed like they had to work harder, while the other was required little effort. Overall zero quarter goes to The Jukebox. Their book and arrangements were just better. Boom, I need 'Golden Time of Day', and a few other throwbacks back in rotation.
The competition between these bands is legendary. No band will ever be better. I wanna hear them combined together on some songs instead of listening to them fight all the time.
Best zero quarter Boombox Classic of all time, hands down. Coming back and watching this again, gives me such an appreciation for these 2 titans of the SWAC.

Please don't even try to say that Southern plays marches as well as a FAM or JSU....you don't have enough woodwinds to even begin the conversation. Nor has Southern ever started a fifth with 4 or 5 marches to lead them into battle. Let's not go all out into delusions here. The point is about the instrumentation changing at JSU.
