Excellent video. I’m hoping for this to be my first rangefinder camera. By the way your pictures are dope. That photo of the hand in the rear view mirror is SICK
I know this is an old video for you, but I was watching it, and heard you say you bought it at Englewood Camera. My ears perked up because I work there haha. Nice to see a fellow Denver photog on here!
Had the same issues with my M6 years ago: Frame counter incorrect, focus metering inaccurate, and additionally light meter wrong. Repair costs ate me up. I did the same move: sold my M6 (not the lenses) and bought a Bessa (but R4A). Since years, I am happy now.
As they say: never sell a Leica. You'll just end up buying another one (for a higher price, at least as the market is now). Yes, a Leica M6 is very expensive to repair. But if it is done right, it'll serve you well for another 10 to 20 years.
A Leica is just a tool is like saying my wife is just a girl hahaha. Great video man, and congrats on the new camera and I'm sure you'll pick up another Leica again...if you end up wanting one after all. The Voigtlanders seem legit. I'm slowly learning with film, it's all about that glass, so just stick some dope glass on your Voigtlander and you'll be alright.
Exactly just depends on if you want a meter or not. Also just letting you know now that the leicas focusing patch is much better than voigtlanders. But you get all the same lenses on both cams so... if you’ve never had a Leica or a voigt. I start with voigt to get your feet wet.
I think the biggest difference between the R4M and R3M is that the R3M has 100% viewfinder coverage and the R4M has a much shorter EBL. So for me i'm looking for the R3M
In film photography, the camera body has little to do with getting great IQ. The lens quality, film emulsion, and photographic skill are the important factors. The Voigtlander cameras are relatively inexpensive, have features not found on the Leicas and mount all LM lenses. What is not to like.
Thanks for reminding me about the R4M. I have a VC 21mm f/4 and VC 35mm f/1.7. It would be nice to have both frame lines built in when I'm traveling. I currently have a black chrome M6 TTL which is not for sale. I like your review style. It would be cool if you could borrow an M9, Typ 240, or M10 so we could get your take on those cameras.

I love your style & vibe! It makes your videos very enjoyable to watch
Gordon Armour thanks Gordon!
Awesome review. Thank you so much. For me it’s all about those 40mm frame lines for my Voigtländer lens. :-)

haha Awesome! Maybe one day this summer we'll run into each other in the store.
@@eddie_g or around town for a photo event
I use R3A and have been enjoying it for years now. Great to see another video about Voigtlander.
It’s a great camera and I’m really enjoying it!

they are great cameras. underrated!
Nice! Just got a 3A and can’t wait to run some film through it.
Nice! Just got the 50mm Nokton f1.5 for my Bessa R
Great video, thanks for helping me decide to get the Bessa 😋
How much would you pay for one now with these high prices?
You think that's loud? Shoot a pentax 67!! great vid.

ComGoBoo couldn’t agree more. I’ll never make that mistake again.

jae rose haha yes! I will definitely be returning to Leica in the future.
I have to choose between Leica M2 and Bessa R3m ... I completely don't know which one is better choice, good classic Leica or light meter built-in

Christopher Reyes the R3M (M is for “M- mount”) is that the viewfinder eye point allows you to comfortably focus with both eyes open
Fabrizio Mastronardi isn’t the M for Manual and the R3A would be Auto?
Keep building, brother!
You sold your M6? 😢😢😢 Sadly the rangefinders in M6 are easy to knock out of alignment. Nice review.
this was years ago, im back with my m6 again.
Hi, nice Video! Thanks Form it. One question about the r3m. Could you see the framelines for 40mm lens wearing glasses? Thanks a lot!
Abel Singla Valls yea you can see them. The only downside is sun flare washing out the frame lines and focus patch.
@@eddie_g thanks a lot!!
@@eddie_g thanks for your answer. I've still one question, is the range finder accurate for a fast and longs lens light 90mm ? Thanks again!
Abel Singla Valls never tried that long of a lens so I don’t know
A is for autoexposure, M for manual
who bought a broken Leica?
Why not getting Leicaflex SL2. Built like a tank cheaper r leica lenses but just as good! Nice video! Thank you!

It was a foolish move, hindsight is 20/20, you could have sold it 3 years later for 4k :p
Save and get an MP before they're discontinued

I had a m9 for a hot minute last year. That was a good camera. The m10 and typ240 I gotta try!! Ma lord that would be heaven!
