Is your Daughter still shooting Jason? I'd say different RF vs SLR. Brian Duffy was once commissioned to shoot a composer for Vogue. The composer demanded Duffy use a Leica as it (RF) were quiet. I know somebody else like Roger who got given a Hasselblad!!
PETE! LOL
It was always either a gift, or bought from the second hand shop for $5. Enjoy using the camera! :)
What a find that would be! Question is, would you own up or run? A charity shop I'd probably have to say something Jacky. Then kick myself later ha ha
As you are so lucky can you please do my lottery numbers lol 😂 seriously beautiful camera enjoy it I would love to add one to my collection
I would suggest to rename the channel into "Getting cameras gifted like a boss" ;-)
I am not a Leica shooter, but I have a Texas Leica (Fujica GW690). I think a Leica M is not really something for me, I prefer to shoot medium format.
I see M6's bodies on eBay for around €2700. That's about what I spent on my M645 (45,80,150mm) , C330 (55, 80, 135mm) , RB67 (50, 65, 90) kits and GW690 together. But yeah, I wouldn't mind swapping one of this cameras for an afternoon or so.
It's an expensive kit. Not for everyone. Especially if you prefer 120 shooting. I enjoy shooting all my cameras. They are all wierd and wonderful in their own way.
*Is your friend looking to expanding his circle of friends???*
All i can say is your a very lucky man ?
Cheers Alan
As a spoilt brat I have an M3, M5 and an M6 - M5 is by far me favourite of the lot. But my fav camera of all is my Bessa R3 - should really get rid of the Ms....
That’s not any Leica MP, it’s a black paint Leica MP! Worth a lot of $$$ 🤩
The BP mp cost exactly the same as the silver mp.
Are you thinking about the original MP without the light meter ?
@@JacobChristiansen1 I’m thinking in terms of long term value usually BPs are more sought after
@@il_moe only because they had a limited production compared to black chrome (they actually weren’t poplular in bp back then). This is not the case with the modern mp. If anything, the silver is more rare (Less people buy it)
Wow, your friends are super generous haha. Great pics and prints as always! The Voigtlander 50mm f/2 APO is supposed to be one of the sharpest 50mm available today. I have the 35mm (but for my Sony) and I love it.
Omg that Fischer Price camera at the end. Cant' wait to see your video on that since I had I think the exact same one as a wee 6-7 year old. Can't recall what happened to it or the photos I took with it sadly but I do think about it time to time.
Nice collection Gary.
All these people saying how kind your friend is to gift you a Leica. I wonder if they'll be saying the same thing with the Fisher Price camera I gave you :)
We'll soon see won't we Graeme! Lol. One thing. The shutter is very quiet lol
That's what I'll say to my wife when I'm going to buy a Leica. It was gifted by a friend.
Good idea ha ha
I met a gorgeous girl in a nightclub, she came back to my place , she left me a gift !!
Antibiotics worked
LOL! Glad it cleared up!
Roger, for the love of God, please do not blow on the filter. Use the Rocket Blower! Congratulations.
Cheers Aristo.
Your friends are better than mine.
Is it in focus.... Yes 😅 bam... Blurry 😂
Is your mystery benefactor a Arsenal footballer.:)
Lol, no.
So that’s how you get a 4-grand camera past the domestic community. I’ve been saying things like “no not a new camera, I’ve had it for ages” but I think that’s wearing thin.
That would be telling fibs David lol. Sounds good though!
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss In fairness I’ve good a number of bodies and if I bring out an old favourite she asks if it’s a new camera, so I’m responding truthfully, most of the time.Btw nice results from the MP, however I think that is more to do with careful developing and printing.
I knew that you wouldn’t buy a Leica and the only way you are going acquire it is if you got it as a gift haha. Also u are a really cool uncle
Cheers. He's a good lad
Man I wish someone would gift 🎁 me a $7000 camera 📷, only instead of a Leica I’d prefer the voigtlander prominent in the 6x9 format 🤣 , way more negative space than 35mm.
Your friends secret is safe with you now.
I wish I had friends to gift me leicas and mamiyas!! Lol
😂😂
Some kind folk out there Spyrate.
Want to be even more afraid of dropping it? Those cameras are anywhere from $4,000 to $24,000 on Ebay.
I'll have to invest in a wrist strap John.
