For me, the angle of the lean at the bottom of the wave - the confidence and commitment to lean that far over. Looks bloody superb and works so well.

first of all THANK YOU for appreciating the feeling of joy that surfing can bring. My biggest takeaway from stephs breakdown of gracefulness in the video is that relaxation can open the doors of creativity. I feel it's a disgrace to the cosmos to not be creative, since the cosmos is what you are and what creates the waves we surf, allowing you to feel the joy and respecting it gracefully like steph is so beautiful to me, the best at what she does.

I feel Stephanie spread her wings with her right arm high especially on snaps and carves. She tends to draw her rail beautifully through her turn but will often release 3/4 of the way into her turn to look down the line.. compared with Carissa who tends to look back to the foam more on her carves. Her frontside bottom turn to setup is class and she has great style by relaxing and enjoying the in between moments also!

Stay tuned for Carissa's coach's eye!!

"Power" surfing's a thing but i noticed the good surfers in gnarly NorCal not grimacing or puffing their cheeks.. mostly quite neutral in expression, no macho-face yet full gouge. Happy Gilmore takes it one better by smiling, like every turn is going to go well even before doing it. Her smile is an expression of confidence.

How about talking about Steph as one of your favorite Surfers instead of mentioning her as one of your favorite female surfers ? Reducing her on her Gender Role in your First line is just inappropiate because it also belittles her Surfing Skills. You wouldn‘t say, „Kelly is one of my favourite Male Surfers “, because in „mens World“ aka society the male point of view is always the Standard, against which all other people and things are measured. But this is wrong and it really sucks. We should respect all human beings and their skills, no matter what gender role they are representing. Especially when they are ripping it of harder than anyone else … Like Steph does.
Great vid anyway ! Thx and hangloose

How about you except billions of years of evolution? Male genetics are far superior in a physical sense to protect the females, and compete for females, females who are beyond incredible in that of creating life.... It's not a "human phenomenon" it's a natural occurrence....We are talking physical attributes not "Intelligence"......Steph is a graceful, and highly skilled female surfer..How about you get over wokemess, except truth and science facts over your precious fragile "emotions"...All sport is seperated, for obvious reasons, be happy that women don't compete with men or you would not be even talking up this hogwash...

@ombe surf how do you not fall onto your face on that bottom turn? Am I right that you can only lean that far if you got plenty of speed?
