Yea...im the atc from PSP and this is not the complete recording. EJA stepped on a FRC twice Prior to this. I was working ground and clearance and it was busy and i had already told him to stand by and he was #3. He keeps calling. I would have looked up his time and amended it had he asked me but instead he was a jerk and made the comment about 8 out of 10 towers.
He also was wrong about his proposed departure time... It was almost an hour later. IFR flight plans print out 30 minutes before the proposed departure time that the pilot files. I was not wrong in this situation. In fact, when this recording first came out a couple years ago, he sent me a certified mail apology letter that I kept on my fridge until I moved. I've been in controller for 12 years, I'm not lazy, I have 150 hours of flight experience and I love and respect The aviation community, however I am not going to tolerate disrespect on the frequency just because someone is mad that it's not their turn.

With the flippant controller at the beginning, I would've advised that this was a recorded frequency and ask for clarification of intentions again, otherwise, I would treat the airport as a non-towered airport. I'd land and call the FAA and local authorities due to someone in the control tower clearly presenting signs that they are a danger to persons on the ground and air. I would guarantee the FAA wouldn't violate me, due to taking "captain's authority" and maybe even declaring an emergency due to this unsafe situation the controller is creating.

Hi, i am the PSP Controller. This recording does not give the full picture. I'm not lazy. He called up on clearance initially and I told him to change to ground and he stepped on a full route clearance read back after I already told him to stand by. He was being impatient and rude even before this recording started. Also his flight plan was not for much farther out than what he thought it was. Could I have updated it? Yes. Had he asked me and not been a jerk telling me how 8/10 towers blah blah blah.
Fun fact- his company made him send me a certified mail apology letter to me at the tower and he got absolutely roasted in the netjets chat board. I have no idea why I'm being lumped in with these other unprofessional encounters. I love and respect our aviation community and I'm actually the pilot outreach coordinator at my facility. I love giving tours and helping educate our flying community. the planes antenna isn't very powerful, because theyre in the air and they only need line of sight to the tower's antenna
