  • Here is Volume One of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, first published in 1813. Possibly the most famous novel in the world, it’s packed with humour and wry observations about marriage, education, manners and money in Regency England. I persuaded my friend and excellent actor Sally Ann Burnett to read it for Magpie Audio. A quick trip to East Anglia to set up some additional equipment at her studio and me dragging my way through the proofing and editing, and, lo, we have Volume One (of 3).

Oh my, I love Pride and Prejudice! I never thought I'd hear a narration by Magpie audio :D

Although I would've loved your narration as well, this is a refreshing and somewhat understandable change as it perhaps fits better with the main characters. I certainly can never resist an Austen. Thank you for the work!

You are right because I love Doyle and and Austen! But now that I have read your description it made me think of something incredible. If you enjoy these books as well as a bit of a mystery then perhaps one day my favorite book of all time might end up on this channel despite its length. Jane Eyre, please!!
