I would look at how you programmed each locomotive initially and ensure that the LC+ 2.0 are programmed as Railsounds, not Legacy Railsounds. See if that corrects the sound issue when you are running the lash up.
Also, small thing, but believe when you a programming a new Train, you enter the new TMCC ID and then press enter vs. set. You enter "set" only when you are programming a new engine.

@@ganrailroad Just Railsounds. Test the whistle/bell after you set to Railsounds running just the engine before trying the lash up to see if it works.
