Did you pick up the LCCA 24 Christmas car???
Yes, I picked it up at York. Thanks for watching 🚂
Well I`ll be a Huckleberry, surely you don`t tell.
Thanks. This video is good enough for me. - Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 🚂
Wish Menards would have went with their own Atlas or Fastrack clone! I really want to stay away from tubular track. Hard to see it as anything but ugly after working with Atlas or even Fastrack.
I made the same mistake running my Pennsy GP-9 backwards. Lol. I didn't realize they set it up long hood forward either. Nice engines and great choice of road name.
Thanks Del.
I hear tell, in 2020 the Circus Train was derailed and the perpetrators made off with the Box-office Receipts.
Thanks Gary - beautiful engines - have fun
Thanks and thanks for watching 🚂
Nice 👍
Very nice haul
Hey Gary - Any chance we'll see those Pennsy GP9's ??? Thx
I just purchased the Pennsylvania f unit and it crap out one day out of the box Mernards will fix it or rep,ace it but it is an inconvenience
Sorry to hear that. Menards is good with returns.
Fastrack has all kinds of power drop issues especially through bthe switches
I use gargraves with Super O.. Since Menards makes very affordable O gauge track It would be great if the brain dead mgt at Lionel made the O gauge switches again Especially the 072 switches..
Nice love that ash tray effect on engine 👍
Awesome scenery!!
I'm glad you like it
I have one of the MNP track-cleaner boxcars. As far as I know, the car was always intended to run in a train. Any self-induced movement is strictly coincidental. For mine (built into a RailKing BNSF boxcar), I bought a matching covered gondola to carry the extra pads and the rubber discs the pads are stuck to when not actually cleaning track.
That's one heck of a train haul Gary. Congrats! I do agree that the attendance was definitely up for this York show. I saw those pipe loads at Ralph's. I bought all of his trash containers sitting next to them.
Thanks for watching. I didn't know he had trash containers, were they dumpsters? I will look for him at Allentown as soon as i get into the show.
@@ganrailroad They are not dumpsters. They are 20' containers that are higher than standard 20' containers. They usually come 3 on a 60' flatcar. Most flatcars have loads on them, so he removes the pipes and other loads to get a bare flatcar to install his custom models.
Nice 👍
@@ELWtrains thanks for watching 🚂
Hey Gary - Is that Woodbourne ???
Yes
Great looking train
I would look at how you programmed each locomotive initially and ensure that the LC+ 2.0 are programmed as Railsounds, not Legacy Railsounds. See if that corrects the sound issue when you are running the lash up.
Also, small thing, but believe when you a programming a new Train, you enter the new TMCC ID and then press enter vs. set. You enter "set" only when you are programming a new engine.
@@BAMRR is it railsounds 5 or just railsounds
@@ganrailroad Just Railsounds. Test the whistle/bell after you set to Railsounds running just the engine before trying the lash up to see if it works.
Thanks for the video 😀
A nice engine though I feel the LionChief Plus 2.0 is a bit much. I can see this as a LionChief Plus model with 2 chuffs per revolution, a more fitting tribute to its toy train origins.
Nice nod to the original 726 for the whistle to be a digital recreation of the old air whistle, they even have the motor whine as it spools up and down.
I'm really glad Lionel did that with the whistle. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Great lighting in this shot 💫
I like that you scenicked the inside of your tunnel. Many modelers neglect to do this and when they video a ride along you can see insulation board or wood supports. Terrific job!
Thanks, I painted and then sprayed clear glue from a spray can then I sprinkled scenic dirt from scenic express on it, then I put the tunnel together on the layout. Thanks for watching 🚂
Nice 👍 Beautiful Csx
Thanks for watching 🚂
Awesome PRR Steam!
Nice run 👍 great looking Csx train
would it kill them to make a school. Seems like a set that would include a football field could be big.
Good idea
Great steam engine and passenger cars
Thanks for watching 🚂
Sweet!
Awesome loco!
Impressive locomotive!
What the hobby needs is a not Big, but rather a " LITTLE BOY CHALLENGE".
Cool!
Thanks for watching 🚂
That’s a beautiful, 726 locomotive Gary! I own two the original ones and it looks spot on! Congratulations Gary!😊
Thanks, I like it a lot. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Cool video. Was that Ric Flair on top of the building? Woooooooooooo 👍🏾👍🏾
Yes, that is ric flair, I saw it at Ollie's for $3.00 so I grabbed it. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Nice engine Gary
Thanks I like it a lot. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Very nice, but what happens in several years when the electronics quit. Good luck finding parts/service. You'll need a mortgage. Made in China, this is Lionel in name only. I would have bought an original 726 MADE IN USA.
Why would the electronics quit? you could buy video game consoles from the 80's that still work. There's plenty of people that will do repair work. A lot of things are made in china today, such as tv's, cell phones & computers. Lionel in name only doesn't make any sense, are you saying that because lionel doesn't make the products in the USA, they don't own it?
@@ganrailroad I don’t know about you, but as long as a loco can give me 15 to 20 years of service, I am good with that. Based on the number of working microchipped locos that are still available, that does not seem to be a huge issue. I don’t need something to last for 50+ years, because the reality is that I will be long dead by then. Would I prefer they were Made in America? Sure. But as long as they do what they are supposed to, I won’t get too hung up on it.
@@ganrailroad I am a certified electronics technician. They will fail. Integrated circuits can and do fail. You might not be able to find replacements. With Lionel moving production areas all over Asia, good luck. I've had electronics failures in as little as 2 years. My advice is to buy a replacement board and smoke unit asap, while they're still available. Good luck.
I have two postwar 726s. The whistle on this model sounds nothing like the original. Nice looking engine just don't like the whistle. I actually had the earlier version of this lionchief plus 2.0 and it had nkp 765s whistle. Sounded real good.
Awesome!!!!
Thanks for sharing. I was trying to find a video for the Lionel 2129230 O Halloween Flagpole, which is essentially the same design.
I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Nice 👍
Very cool.
I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the whistle the first time. Thanks for watching. 🚂
Looks like zmenards is upping their game on trucks and couplers!
That's a good thing. It does raise the price by $10.00, from $25.00 to $35.00, it's worth it. It's still much cheaper than Lionel, Atlas and MTH.
I love that Atlas is making the Ford F-100 pickup trucks in O-scale. That was the highlight for me in their catalog.
If MTH wasn’t a zombie company with atlas and there was a competitor to making steam and passenger etc that Lionel makes then all of sudden price would come down
Hey Gary, I have this same station. I'm modeling my layout from my hometown. We had a Sinclair station in my small hometown in the 50's-60's. As a kid, I guess a big dinosaur like that left a lasting visual impression on my brain. It's pretty clever that Sinclair would use a dinosaur to form a link to the oil pulled out of the ground to the gas used to power our cars. Isn't it ironic that our beasts run on Dino juice. Oh, if only the dinosaurs saw that one coming, they would have tried harder, not to go extinct😅. I completely disassembled and customized mine. I reduced the plastic base height with a belt sander to the thickness of Masonite and added driveway extensions along the front and sides with approaches out of Masonite and custom painted the concrete to actually look like worn concrete with Americana DecoArt acrylic craft paint after it was primed. I removed the backing and used 1/2" foam core board and added side wall extensions and a flat roof. I disassembled anything that could be removed from the base with a sharp razor knife and masked the signs. I used a single light, flat primer coat for plastics. Krylon Fusions or Camouflage paint works well as long as it's flat and made for plastics. Acrylic craft paint doesn't stick well to most all plastic surfaces and needs some tooth for it to stick. Any FLAT spray paint for plastics works as a base or dullcote will work also. The flat spray paint can be used as the finished surface but the acrylics come in a lot off different colors, are designed for blending for a more natural and realistic finish, and they dry dead flat without sheen. I left the original white cinder block front as is and sprayed it, and the completely disassembled truck with a light coat of dullcote. I used Americana DecoArt Holly green and warm white to repaint the building, and found these to be a good match to the original colors. I used Americana DecoArt Metallics silver acrylic paint to paint the sigm pole and burnt umber and cinnamon stick to lightly weather it with rust. You could lightly sand the scratched roof prior to painting it. I use a dry sponge paint method to paint shingles, masonry, brick, concrete, asphalt, and pretty much any rough textured surface that has a variegated surface. It's easy to naturally build up layers in varying shades this way. The technique is to use a dry sponge method where most of the paint is blotted off before applying. You'll soon develop your own technique with practice. It's not difficult to paint sloppy like a kid. The flat acrylic paint will have a similar hiding effect to flat wall paint in that it will hide the unnatural blemishes caused in the plastic molding process. Those dimples along each side of the roof and that shiney unnatural plastic surface that screams plastic building will disappear to a more natural realistic finish. Weathering with acrylics by making a stain using lots of water with very little paint also adds to the overall effects. I prefer to add light weathering as opposed to heavy handed to achieve a more natural cohesiveness between structures. Different degrees of weathering are preferred to give the appearance that the entire town wasn't built in a single day.
That’s a cute station. I photographed a real one in Montana years ago… cool spot in Emigrant.
