When you have the player with arguably the best recovery mixups(within the context his character) in Ult vs the best edge guarder and 2nd best spacer among the top 10 players, you are bound to get a good set. Wanted Proto to win, but Fatality played out of his mind.
@@voodooedits785 I think Proto's problem is that he didn't adapt his game plan. he kept trying to bait fatality's late recovery instead of committing to a read even though fatality just started recovering early every time. 24:00 even fatality said he was playing too proper.
I’m so sad that proto was playing much worse after losing game 3 of this set. He respected fatality way too much. Congrats to fatality as well this is his biggest win in smash Ultimate iirc as well.
Fatality is literally the most enjoyable smash player to watch. Not only does he not play a cheesy character, but he just has a way with being aggressive and the way he drifts to narrowly escape death and it’s just exciting.

Been watching fatality since early smash 4. So nice to watch his arc over ultimate. He puts in so much passion and work into his Falcon and it’s amazing to witness these big wins. Congrats man.
I watch every ProtoBanham set because I like technical sword players and he is the best. Him vs Fatality is a dream matchup. Much respect to Proto and Japan from USA
I think it's a troll, Look at 24:39 , He is not doing anything Then the other guy come ( I guess its Light) and only after he touch him they already fighting. Really weird. Probably made up.
This set was an absolute rollercoaster. For most of the set, Proto played some of the most precise and overall best Ultimate we have seen, and Fatality was playing fairly sloppy. The end result is that Proto completely decked him at the beginning. By the time Fatality finally found his footing (which really started pumping up at the 3 stock of game 4), Proto was the one starting to play sloppy. It was clear that he was losing a lot of steam, and the shift of momentum began swinging greatly to Fatality's favor. It all cultivated to the last stock, game 5 situation where it was a spaghetti-fest all around for both players, but Fatality, still having some of the momentum from earlier in the game, closed out the set.
The crazy part is that Fatality lives for reads, call outs, and habits. He also consistently does FT10's (first to 10's) for fun, so he's already used to going for some crazy set play. That's arguably one of his best traits as a player. If you don't shut him out early, he will have the download on you at some point and victory is almost unattainable at that point. We saw it at his set vs Maister too. Honestly the only thing preventing him from winning that set was that he goofed and allowed it to go to Smashville against GnW. Too little room to run away from all of GnW funny hitboxes. I honestly think a Fatality FT10 against Maister would still end up with Maister winning because "haha funny 2d guy" but it'd end up with Fatality pulling at least 6 to 8 wins off of him. Man's downloading skills are insane. The only thing he needs to be unstoppable is to not get "lost in the sauce" as well as understand that sometimes you just need to camp with Falcon, then utilize the sauce to secure the stock.
Always an exciting match to watch when Fatalitys Captain Falcon is on screen 👌 the same could be said for ProtoBanham and his Lucina.. this set is a gift to watch 👏
This Summit is huge for Fatality. He’s already considered the best falcon but it’s games like these that will get him huge recognition and make this name bigger.
