    hiding comment for spoilers below:
SO HAPPY FOR SPARG0!!! I really wanted him to achieve his dreams (he wants to be his best, and wanted to close out a supermajor) and I'm super glad he was able to today, he has a super bright future ahead of him! Been working with him a long time now to tackle various types of situations as optimally as possible (and general smash theorycraft optimization), and he improves every time. I told him years ago I think he could be the next MkLeo and believed in his potential, skill, and approach to the game, and that if he was confident (believe in himself) and prepared he could reach incredible heights, and it turns out that was true after all. He's now won the biggest (or 2nd biggest prizepool?) tournament of all time! Super nice kid too tbh, definitely someone you guys should consider supporting! He also did this tournament with mostly Cloud, his favorite character, which was awesome to see (although I love Aegis too tbh), and did it without dropping a set. Crazy good and fun to watch when he's at his best moments!
Light did amazing too, only losing to Sparg0 twice, but looking incredibly good against everybody else, was also really fun to watch, gives those Melee Fox vibes.
    The future looks exciting

Last Summit he was 6-0ed by Tweek so the environment may also play a factor. I wish he cared more about winning, because the half caring and kind of using aegis is only hurting him. Smash Ultimate's development support might have ended, but this game is set to live a long future, with these amazing players bringing it to incredible peaks of skill. Sparg0 can only improve at this point and Light has shown that, when he is in shape, is almost unstoppable. MkLeo will not fall so easily though, his otherworldly adaptation and surgery-like options will make him a never-ending threat, even if he might eventually hand the throne to Sparg0. I've witnessed some incredible Smash played by almost everybody here. At this point, I just want more. I can't wait for the next major!

This highlights just how much of the community is just plain lazy and wants to be character carried. People ditched Cloud and claimed he wasn't that good just because he isn't the obscene power house he was in Smash4.
