This show was my first exposure to her, so I can only see her as a serious stone cold KGB agent. Kind of hard to see her playing a different character.
+Eric M I first saw her in a part on a season (don't remember which) of "Dexter" several years ago. I think she was in several episodes in one season, but not playing a major character. Still she made a memorable impression and I immediately recognized her in "The Americans". But as believable as she was in her role in "Dexter" she is in "The Americans". If you haven't checked "Dexter" out - go do that and see if you don't find she's just as believable as a sweet old secretary with a sweet tooth.
Relax, KGB doesn't exist anymore. It was replaced by FSB and SVR. But GRU didn't leave anywhere - they are still the same, but a little bit modern. ---- KGB - КГБ (Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosty - Комитет Государственной Безопасности. Literally it means "Committee of Government Security")
Absolutely love this show love love love it. One of the best shows to grace the screen. Yes homeland was good. Loved claire danes. But the americans was more character study.
I'm beginning to think casting agents need kudos in the form of an award. For example, I never seen such EXCELLENT casting as in the following: Andres Parra as "Pablo Escobar: El Patron del Mal" as well as the entire cast; the same for the late Jimmy Gandolfini as Anthony Soprano in "The Sopranos" as well as the entire cast. And, of course, Martin Rhys and Keri Russell as the two KBG, aka American, agents in "The Americans" with the entire supporting cast, with Paige leading the charge to equal status with Martin and Keri for her excellent acting (her facial expressions are acting in and of themselves). But back to my point. There should be awards for casting agents, for sure. All seem to be doing a great job! And if anybody out there has any spare ramen noodles, call me!
Where do they get the phone boxes these days? Do they have to mock something up or are there a couple of warehouses in the US with models ranging from 1930's to 00's
There are companies in Hollywood that keep all kinds of stuff going back decades as props for movies/TV. Even cars, planes, trains, pretty much anything that might appear on screen.
If Margo Martindale for any reason is unavailable in the future, why not ask CNN's Barbara Starr to substitute for her. Look her up, she has that Claudia look as well!
@@tatianalyulkin410- Richard Thomas's first big role was playing John Boy Walton on the Waltons. I think they replaced him with another actor playing the same character in the last Season.
Even if this is a tv drama it scares the shit out of me that our enemies have installed many of these duplicitous monsters in our society.....I hope that Russia and China now realize that freedom is the only path for peace
The last clip with Noah Emmerich saying “I fucking knew it!” had me cracking up 😂
Margo Martindale is sensational in this show - but how on earth can you get through a scene with her without breaking up - she is one funny lady.
This show was my first exposure to her, so I can only see her as a serious stone cold KGB agent. Kind of hard to see her playing a different character.
Michael Muldowney Love Esteemed-Character-Actress Margo Martindale!

She's part of season 1, 2 and 3 of Dexter. The last one, with the pie scene, was really special.
Watch Justified, she was the villain in season 2. Amazing character.
Suddenly less scared of the KGB
They are just a bunch of free-spirited hippies who will kill you for standing in their way of world domination.
William Zhao, yeah, somebody should mention that to fake45!
Instablaster
be more scared of the CIA

Matthew Rhys*

Loved the performances
Jesus - does Richard Thomas ever get older - looks the same as he did in THE WALTONS, - 45 years ago.
I grew up with the Waltons. A salute to Agent Frank 'John Boy' Gaad!
Claudia is hilarious 😂😂😂

Casting is amazing.
I love this show!
aww
Keri and Matthew falling in love
Just finished the show and was wondering "huh, these two guys have a lot of chemistry, wonder if they dated", googling proved to be a fun surprise 😊

Margo Martindale is incredible
3:13 great irony
Don't watch bloopers before finishing the series, it ruins the character.
"Is that your thumb?" hahahah
Makes it less sinister.thanks for antidote.
I’ve loved Margo since Thr Riches.
Omg! I thought I was the only one who remembered that show! My ex husband and I loved it
The best was all the 🕺🏻💃🏼
I always thought that the main female character was Stephen Amell's sister.
Это лучшей сериал о Советской разведки.
No. It's brilliant as a piece of fiction but it's misleading and has a very clear agenda.
When KR smiles she looks about 10 years younger
Its funy how JOhn Boy grew up to be a Spy fighting FBI agent.
You beat ne to it.
Who?

this show is sacred..does not need "bloopers"
The Americans need to come back for more seasons taking on Hillary's fake Russian collusion.
This was a great series. I have even less trust of Russians now.
