Oxfordshire secondary school teacher Joshua Sutcliffe has been suspended and faces losing his job after being accused of ‘misgendering’ a pupil during one of his lessons. Despite apologising for his mistake, Joshua has been suspended from his post as a maths teacher and faces a disciplinary hearing in two days time after the transgender pupil’s mother's complained. He joins This Morning alongside Andrea Williams of the Christian Legal Centre who is supporting Joshua and believes schools are ‘making it all up as they go along’ when it comes to the correct way of addressing transgender pupils. Was the school right to suspend Joshua?

A bit odd to see this interview as teachers aren’t supposed to talk to the media without permission from the Head. No consideration of the student in question.
The guy has no job. He doesn't answer to anyone. A pupil has made this guy lose his job because he forgot a girl, who looks like a girl, identified as a boy.
What about consideration for this guy?

In addition to making a vulnerable, suicidal student identifiable by going on This Morning and talking about them - which violated safeguarding, showing that if he didn't care about losing his job, he certainly didn't care about the student's welfare, either - he also referred students to his website, which contains a list of what he considers "abominations", such as homosexuality and abortion. He preached these views in the classroom. He should be nowhere near children.

You are completely wrong. All this ‘gender nonsense’ is a direct attack on the human race and the actual wellbeing of children! You are what you are born as, either a girl or a boy. Now there are a lot of variations in how that expresses itself, and we see men with feminine traits and women with masculine traits and that has always been. But to allow children to decide what they wish to be from one time or another is a recipe for chaos and a path that in all probability will lead to severe mental health issues for that child in the future.

I don't know where you live, but here in the UK we take safeguarding incredibly seriously. What you know of a vulnerable young person, you keep to yourself. You can't get away with spreading personal details just by not mentioning them by name. My source? I'm a teacher of over 10 years. I do safeguarding training every year. I have been involved in safeguarding cases and made safeguarding referrals. What's your experience?

It turns out Philip had a bit of a fuppin cheek lecturing a teacher about how to protect children.
The teacher violated safeguarding. Even if Schofield isn't the best one to "lecture" about safeguarding, it doesn't mean the teacher was right.
In this clip the student he talks about is identifiable. On NATIONAL TV. This student was on suicide watch. He violated safeguarding regulations by talking about him. It is right that he was banned. Safeguarding must be taken VERY seriously.

All these years later and it transpires that the teacher was (obviously) correct in that Biology matters more than an ideology. Self Gender ID pronouns for students are not now compulsory for teachers to adhere to!

Everybody has an ‘ideology’! Including you. Most people think that they are impartial and can figure things out quite reasonably according to their own ideas. When religious nutters talk about their freedom to practice their religion, what they really mean is their ability to force their religious beliefs onto everyone else. So as to your question, people are free to "believe in and practice their religion". However, a teacher should not have the right to ram their religious beliefs down someone else's throat. Also, he talked about someone who was identified as a vulnerable student, both in the class and on national TV. There are strict regulations about this, which this religious nutter decided that he could ignore because of his religion.
People ARE free to believe in their religion, and they are free to practise their religion (according to UK law). What you are not permitted to do as a teacher is treat children with disrespect and indignity, which is what he did when he misgendered that child. Let's also for a moment look at how he has been on national TV and made that vulnerable child identifiable. This breaches safeguarding policy, which is and should be a sackable and banning offence.

This whole gender thing is getting ridiculous now. People lose their jobs for “misgendering” someone. A gender isn’t a feeling and if you feel you’re born in the “wrong” gender, please get some help so you can love the body you were born with. Don’t get pissy at others and ruin someone’s life because of this.
He lost his job because in this clip he made a vulnerable student on suicide watch identifiable, thus violating safeguarding. That is and should be a sackable offence.
