Using acetone on midsole removes the original factory protective coat, and dirt/stains will stick to midsole easier in future and it will be more prone to damages

Блин, как сложно то. Замачиваешь в горячей воде с порошком на 3 часа, потом проходишь подошву(низ) щёткой с хозмылом, как следует полощишь, сушишь. Всё, эффект тот же. Для не кожаной обуви этого достаточно. Я так и со скечерсами делал, и с конверсами.
Nice job. But most sketchers are machine washable. They could have just thrown them in the washing machine. I do that all the time and they come out like new. 😄
Using just the glue would make the fabric hard. When you walk on the shoe, the glue would just crack. Mixing the glue with water lets it go on thinner and be bendy and pliant still so that it doesn’t crack when worn.
