My wife works as a doctor in India. She works day and night to help patients. She doesn't drive... But now, due to lockdown, she is not able to find transportation in time. One request to all the corporate leaders and govt officials.... please help doctors with transportation. It is not about the money, it is about infrastructure and spending some time to look at the issues the right way.
Same situation in Wuhan last year when the coronavirus firstly broke out . There were a group of young volunteers equipped their car with virus protected facilities and picked up the doctors and nurses on request. These young drivers’ contributions were very much appreciated!

Having spent quite a bit of time in India, I always thought the tally and accuracy in cases/deaths was going to take time to catch up. It's an incredibly densely populated country. Hoping they're able to figure out how to curb the situation because it's such an amazing culture and country 🙏
It is actually fairly accurate and transparent unlike China who fudged everything from the beginning. India handled the first wave like a champion by imposing lockdowns and strict mask policy from the very beginning. People got complacent after a span of 8-9 months without many cases. And started overlooking protocols and didn’t wear masks.

I’m Indian. I can tell you for sure that the no. Of cases are being highly underreported. Positivity rate is about 30 % to even 50% in some states. Many people have died outside of hospitals, in ambulances driving around desperately to find beds, at homes. These deaths aren’t even accounted for. Even no. Of deaths in hospitals is skewed. One of my own family members died because she couldn’t find a bed with oxygen supply. She went to 5 hospitals and was refused admission due to lack of beds and oxygen. This is a big crisis that’s massively underreported. Do not believe the no.s that are being put out officially. They are far worse than that. Some experts predict that the no. Of ppl dead can go up to 30 times the official no. Of deaths reported. I think only the metropolitan cities(Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi etc) are reporting the no.s honestly. What about the rest of the cities and rural areas.

Whole world is sending aid and help, but India's own government is not bothered at all. Now law and order. No restrictions even now. Even Now, celebrations are being held for elections victory with pomp and show on roads with no masks and no distancing. Nothing at all. They are celebrating on roads and countless people are dying all over the country. Just imagine. There is no one to question this government. There is no value of human life. Scientists warnings and requests are not heard or given any importance. Every festival, every gathering was being held since last many months. We know that a country like India couldn't afford a complete lockdown, but not even any restrictions were kept in place to keep things in control. Government thought that by banging utensils, they defeated the virus and nothing else was needed. Such an amazing thing. Government is not taking any blame or any responsibility. Pathetic. Moreover the number of infections or deaths being reported are not at all accurate. Hundreds of patients are not being hospitalised due to no space in hospitals. People dying outside the hospitals are not being counted. Medicines are not available at medical stores, oxygen is not available at so many hospitals, no strict restrictions imposed, even at hospitals and vaccine centres, there is so much gathering everywhere. Lakhs of people below poverty line are not even able to afford covid test or blood tests or CT scan at private hospitals. Illiterate and ignorant officials handling the country with no concern for welfare of its citizens, only power, greed for money and politics.

My wife works as a doctor in India. She works day and night to help patients. She doesn't drive... But now, due to lockdown, she is not able to find transportation in time. One request to all the corporate leaders and govt officials.... please help doctors with transportation. It is not about the money, it is about infrastructure and spending some time to look at the issues the right way.
Same situation in Wuhan last year when the coronavirus firstly broke out . There were a group of young volunteers equipped their car with virus protected facilities and picked up the doctors and nurses on request. These young drivers’ contributions were very much appreciated!
Those people who have complains against medical staff must realize this is same number of staff who are now handling a work load several fold more. Be grateful and considerate.

I’m Indian. I can tell you for sure that the no. Of cases are being highly underreported. Positivity rate is about 30 % to even 50% in some states. Many people have died outside of hospitals, in ambulances driving around desperately to find beds, at homes. These deaths aren’t even accounted for. Even no. Of deaths in hospitals is skewed. One of my own family members died because she couldn’t find a bed with oxygen supply. She went to 5 hospitals and was refused admission due to lack of beds and oxygen.
This is a big crisis that’s massively underreported. Do not believe the no.s that are being put out officially. They are far worse than that. Some experts predict that the no. Of ppl dead can go up to 30 times the official no. Of deaths reported.
I think only the metropolitan cities(Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi etc) are reporting the no.s honestly. What about the rest of the cities and rural areas.

Whole world is sending aid and help, but India's own government is not bothered at all. Now law and order. No restrictions even now. Even Now, celebrations are being held for elections victory with pomp and show on roads with no masks and no distancing. Nothing at all. They are celebrating on roads and countless people are dying all over the country. Just imagine. There is no one to question this government. There is no value of human life. Scientists warnings and requests are not heard or given any importance. Every festival, every gathering was being held since last many months. We know that a country like India couldn't afford a complete lockdown, but not even any restrictions were kept in place to keep things in control. Government thought that by banging utensils, they defeated the virus and nothing else was needed. Such an amazing thing. Government is not taking any blame or any responsibility. Pathetic.
Moreover the number of infections or deaths being reported are not at all accurate. Hundreds of patients are not being hospitalised due to no space in hospitals. People dying outside the hospitals are not being counted.
Medicines are not available at medical stores, oxygen is not available at so many hospitals, no strict restrictions imposed, even at hospitals and vaccine centres, there is so much gathering everywhere.
Lakhs of people below poverty line are not even able to afford covid test or blood tests or CT scan at private hospitals.
Illiterate and ignorant officials handling the country with no concern for welfare of its citizens, only power, greed for money and politics.

My mom was too scared to see this. The loud sirens at night give me chills in my bone. And this is when Bihar is least affected by this pandemic. I can't even imagine the situation in Delhi and Mumbai. My prayers go out for them.
