New footage from Alien: Romulus has been unveiled. The upcoming movie will be the ninth installment in the overall franchise, including the two crossovers with the Predator franchise that were released in 2004 and 2007 respectively. Taking place between the original 1979 movie and its 1986 sequel Aliens, the movie, directed by Fede Alvarez, follows colonists who discover the predatory Xenomorph on an abandoned space station. The cast of the movie includes Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, and Isabela Merced.
Screen Rant was in attendance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where they presented new footage from the upcoming Alien: Romulus. The footage kicks off with a scene where Renaux's character and a synthetic are trapped in a room with Facehuggers while Spaeny's character Rain Carradine watches helplessly. Although they escape, the Facehuggers make chase down the ship's hallway. Another clip shows a Chestburster emerging from Aileen Wu while she and Merced are on a small ship that crashes into a fuel cell when Wu thrashes and accidentally kicks the controls.

Still looks good...but I was expecting something thing different and I thought( that I heard / read ) that this film is based between Alien and Aliens...what's going on there. ? But have to say I'm looking forward to this!!! And hoping it's not a fadon movie or let down ( I really didn't get on with prothieus and convient) the CGI just killed it for me considering I love these films...I was not happy!!!

I want another predator movie,
According to newly released rumours,the story starts with a spaceship discovering the remains
of the first xenomorph from the alien movie.They bring it to the nearest spacestation and extract it
for eggs which creates the facehuggers.Then the whole spacestation gets infected and all the humans
dies,and leaves a big xenomorph hive behind.
When contact is lost with the other spacestations.A spaceship is sendt to investigate.
Then a battle breaks out,and only one off the investigators manage to escape.
Or did she? In the end we see that she also is infected and she sets the escapepod to self construct,but
before that happens,the escape pod lands on a unknown planet with small humanlike beings,but with blue skin.
And that makes a cliffhanger for a follow-up movie ?

I mean there’s no mystery behind the alien anymore, so that effect is gone. Not really sure what thrilling angle they’re gonna look to exploit here. The stories were told in the first two installments and the Isolation sent it home as a survival horror game. The rest is just cash grab after cash grab.

Visual effects get better, while ideas and talents just get weaker and weaker. So, I'm not surprised after that piece of .... 'art' 😉 named Covenant. Who would expect something good after that? But there were a little light of hope that they have proud and responsibility to recheck mistakes of Covenant and bring a bit of soul and meaning to this next one, but I already see that they haven't
I'll pass on the effects getting better with the character depth and quality beign weak... A movie for the great general masses... That's all Hollywood is now.
Effects getting better is debatable. Give me practical effects over rushed CGI any day.

This _does_ look good. I admire, without exactly liking, Ridley Scott's attempt to expand the mythology to include creation myths for humans, xenomorphs, and androids alike, but it was misguided. Half the confusion came from trying to cram too much mythologizing in, and half came from the sharp departure from the simple kind of scare-fest that _Alien_ and _Aliens_ defined. Existential philisophy certainly underpins horror stories, but horror is the key element. The film looks like a return to that aesthetic. Here's hoping!
Alien started with the tight claustrophobic confines of a single ship. Might as well go back to the roots cos the franchise fell a little bit in recent times.
The opening VO doen't make any sense. If its a prequel to Aliens and a sequel to Alien, how can it be the last time humanity comes across them? It sounds creepy and ominous but it doesnt make any logical sense.
