First ever oni was in hcssf, uber hillock was terrifying with what was at stake! Only took about 8 hours. Done it again since, about 7 hours for a tech slam chieftain in scourge league
I've had mixed results through the leagues and I agree scion is the best, I've farmed one on every class because I thought it would be neat to try and templar was by far the hardest. ranger or scion are my favorites but witch is not bad either.
@@gatovzla3876 The biggest issue with Melee is dealing with his Zombies, I farmed another in the krangled passives event on ranger and remembered just how much more quality of life you get on scion (spectral throw has a built in pierce). It's doable on the other classes scion is just far superior
@@gatovzla3876 getting him to spawn can seem totally unfair at times. I usually run four characters and I've had it take anywhere from 8-16 hours. If you are only running a single marauder, I'd add 3 scions to the mix, there's every chance you could still see him spawn on your level 8, the fight itself will be far more difficult on the marauder.
I used Shadow to kill Hillock instead of Scion. Not as much movement speed, but he dies to easily to poison even early. And once you get some chaos nodes it's butter.
It was/is possible to drop Oni multiple times on the same character. Did it myself in 3.8 or .9... Got three on the same character. What I think won't work is if you identfy the sword.... Also, yes, the movement speed with Scion is faster, but the leveling speed of a Witch is quite nice... it also gives you access to fireball and +1 wands/shields drop quite often

Well i remember farming Hanzo in nioh 1 for a specific item for just short of 68 hours, my mum ran him 30 mins and got it😂😂 also sunlight medals in ds2 fluffed me😂😂😂
Not really only PoE players. If you played old MMO games like for example Ragnarok Online, where you had bosses with 0,01% drop chance, you had farm there for 2 weeks every day for 8 hours and still were not sure to get it. In here the farm was quite demanding, but it is not as insane as it was in old MMO games.
Thanks good guide, I'm 100 hours into the game, and there are a lot of newbie guides and a lot of high experienced guides, but very very few guides for players in the middle. @@Altek2k I find extremely hard to stay motivated once the story ends and we're left free to roam maps. At first, maps don't drop that much, diffulcty ramps up dramatically, and the incessant back & forth to the HO take me out of the mood. Any tips ?
@@Tywnis The way I manage to stay motivated is 1) I have to have a target for the character I'm mapping with. 2) Craft maps in bulk up front to minimise the time I spend in the hideout. 3) Have a tab that I dump everything in and only sort it once it's full. Absolutely anyhhing to minimise myself getting destracted in the hide out. 4) Don't rush up the map chains beyond what the charcter can deal with and be careful with map mods. They can turn a map I never die to into a nightmare. It tends to be dying that makes me want to do something else. 5) Don't stick to one character all league, I used to do this and lost interest really quickly. 6) Play builds that are not entierly in your comfort zone, you will be learning new stuff and solving new problems. If you don't like going outside your comfort zone play somehing you are good at but aim to change it. 7) Pick a league started that can get into end game maps on minimal investement. My league satarter is never the character I play longest in a league it pushes hard to get me currency for a better build. 8) Break up mapping with a league mechanic. Delve tends to be my go to. 9) If i'm feeling burnt out go play a differnt game for a week or two, or take a break. By the end of the week I;m normally missing the game so much I hget back in earlier than I planned. I hope this helps and thanks for wacthing!

@@don2xify Only 3? You should be running fast enough that you need 4. Under 31 seconds a run. When I tried running with 3 the area for the first character had not reset when I finished doing the last. You are just going for hillock and leaving everything else?
dualwielding nailed fists and getting 5 mana flasks will make face-tanking actually possible. I have farmed 20+ oni-goroshis this way. scion is indeed BiS.
Thanks for the clarification on the more than 1 per char. The reasson I normally suggest 2 handed weapon is its easy to get 1 gould one, then two good one handeds, and the off hand can often let us down. In general a good two hander just felt better. Thanks for watching!

i dropped a tabula once in a flasback 1 week..just re-rolling gem mules back when. by day 1 i was into maps and dropped a carcass and swapped to BV XD. I also vendored the tabula for a divine though that was back in that era and divines werent as rare as they are now. ID consider doing this for a flashback league...just doubtful ppl would have the currency to buy it w.o pooling/guild stash to afford it so even then IDK if it would be that worth it vs a HC/trade league as start up cash
I did 10 in curcibel and on a side note it took 10 onis to get 1 taby. First one in about 15h. I did it with 6 Scion, 2 Ranger, 1 marauder and 1 templar.

@@Altek2k Well the last one was at 12h 40min according to my notes but that is with having the game running when watching things on my second monitor or eating. But some times it was about 2-3h in between drops.
Unless you are in SSF you can just make much, much, muuuuuuch more money in much less time and simply buy it. Time is very valuable in PoE, many people, especially new players completely disregard that.

Hey. I drop 6 oni in 1 char so ;p 7lvl 8 8.35% 8.98% 9.02 9.45% was so fun but never again in total i farm 27 oni roshi sword its took me 29h total sold it for 34divine in 2nd day last season
No I tended to do them in 1 or two hour stints. I did two more after this video and one of them took about 10 hours the other was about 20 minutes. You just have to get the lucky roll when you enter the area. I didn't drop one on a character bellow level 6.
Don't give up, I just got it like 3 hour ago and is wonderful leveling up with it, she has some lone for everything, I forgot how beautiful this game is is totally worth it
The first time I farmed one I made a decent slayer. Last league farmed 4 in total and sold all but the best and then did nothing with it :) Thanks for sharing and watching!
I believe I farmed it in 3.3 or 3.4. It took 7-ish hours. What is driving the price of it up so high? I thought it fell behind most uniques and wasn't worth much anymore.
Bad strat, u can make more from selling uber labs doing it really fast first day then u would from doing this. U can also sell completion carries day 2 for even more. Spending that first 14 hours doing this wouldnt make u anywhere close to that from carries early league
Fast attack builds. Think skills like Lacerate, Blade Storm, cyclone. I do have a video on building around this sword. Shout if you need a link. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
@@Altek2k I consider it every league start.. but it took me 12 hours one of the times.. and in 12 hours at league start you could be into yellow or red maps by the time you get the sword to drop. I mostly play ssf so I think it makes sense to do it if you can figure out a way to build around it and use that character to get into red maps using basically only this sword. I imagine it's worth a ton this league so people can gamble crucible trees and maybe hit something build enabling.
@@xXVintersorgXx I think you're spot on, I don't think I'd run it at league start because of the risk of having an unlucky streak, it's a huge gamble. I think you're also right on why the price was so high. I made 20 divines off my 3 this league thougth so not complaiing. I regretting going fror the 4th about an hour in :)
@@Altek2k i kinda wanna try it because while you could technically be in maps making currency you could also sell the oni and use the early currency to buy very cheap items that will go up in price later in the league, there's a lot of items that you can get for 1 div or less early and they become 10-15+. oh and if you hate leveling like me you can use the currency for good leveling uniques and just blast the campaign. the risk of bad luck though is certainly there..btw how many tabulas did you get during this video?
Was this after dying? Did you go back in on the same character immediately, remember the area resets after 1 and a half minutes of yiu not being in there.

@@YBladeY Yeah, that was when they changed the drop parameters. Currently it's possible for uber hillock to spawn the very first time you run a char through the beach, but it's a teeeeeeeeeny tiny chance. The chance increases with char level. It used to be that he would NEVER spawn until your char was level 6 or 7. Honestly dunno which method is worse, either way it's a hell of an RNG grind.
some ppl get it in an hour some dont get it in 20 hours straight. and it's the worst, as nothing drops in twighlight. Good for SSF, otherwise just play the game and buy it because it's dirt cheap compared to the pain and time to get it. In HC you dont take his leap so lightly.
While Scion might run faster, Spectral Throw is so awful that honestly I don't think it's worth the extra movement speed. Ranger can kill it SO MUCH FASTER with burning arrow at a safe distance.

how to farm oni-gorishi: step 1: dont farm hillock step 2: play the game and make some chaos step 3: buy oni-goroshi from someone who wasted their time
4 hours per Oni-Gorishi. 0.25 Oni-Gorishis per hour. 5 to 15 Divines per Oni-Goroshi. 1.25 to 3.75 Divines per hour, over 12 hours. Bruv, this is not 'incredibly profitable'. This is bottom tier slave labour, and it always has been. This sword is so cheap, nobody should ever farm it in Twilight Strand for economical reasons. Not even to mention - in Crucible, the result from turning in the Rebirth set is superior to the dropped item. Level 1 items get level 1 Crucible trees, which tend to be shorter than trees on level 80 items.
I only make about 15 divines a week, don't juice my maps or anything so this worked well for me. Sold the first 2 for 13 divines and kept the best one to play with. They normally sell within a day. I think for new players who don't have strong characters it's also really good. You are absolutely right on the crucible trees though. Thanks for watching!
4 hours per seems like a huge time waste honestly. Yeah they are high priced, but just run through the campaigns, and without any special gear you can make multiple times that while mapping white Tier 1 maps (and it is not QUITE as boring as this).

@@Altek2k my first sword took 8 hours .but I wanted to farm for the 90% crit and I got it ,my first was 72 or 80 I don't remember but one of them I gave away to my cousin ,I kind of regret I gave it away so I only have three I think or maybe I sold one I haven't played the game in like 4 years I was playing every day flipping in the game currency or stones so I was really big on Flipping and it was really fun to play the game but it took so much time so I quit the game
oni goroshi is terrible. I've no idea why you posted anything about this, especially in 2023. I actually farmed mine for fun before this vid was posted but every build that uses oni has been long nerfed.
I actually still quite like the sword, It's really good for levelling and it can still pull a few million dps at end game. Thanks for the support as always.
i did like the video, dont get me wrong, thank for your work. but i used oni nearly for a month in ssf, went to lvl 95 with max roll chieftain and it was terrible. i never plan to use it again because dps of sword very low and crit dependant, you get regularly one shot. i tried with juggernaut then you cant dps. at that point event 550dps two hand axe did look better and i swapped to boneshatter. and it was right, no matter how much i did spend to tectonic slam oni build it didnt feel smooth and strong. yes oni was strong couple leagues ago, now its a relic and didnt uptaded by ggg
I last played it with lacerate in 3.19 on a slayer and it felt really strong. The trick is to stack a tonne of crit and attack speed. The slayer has enough leech with vaal pact to offset the her embrace degen.
It took me an hour to add that in post and get it track with the video you are the first person to notice it, thankyou! I don't think I would ever league start unless in ssf because the success of your league start is gated behind more rng than usual.
the fastest farm of this weapon lasts 8 hours with luck, and the weapon is still bad, with 8 hours you finish all the acts with everything done and there is still a lot of time left to go to heist to farm 5x the value of the weapon. I do not recommend farming this weapon
If you get unluck it can take a long time. I did kind of enjoy the different pace to maps for a break this league. But definately not for everybody. Thanks for watching!

1 Oni-Goroshi every 4ish hours is amazing. Thanks for the info!
It is rng bases so you can get lucky and unluck. All the runs were reasonable this time though so don't know if they changed something.
I went 12 hours doing it on league start in blight league
The thing is, even only 4 hours is still almost 500 kills. Its mind-numbing but when you finally drop it, it feels quite nice

Unless you are in SSF you can just make much, much, muuuuuuch more money in much less time and simply buy it. Time is very valuable in PoE, many people, especially new players completely disregard that.

How much is Oni worth? I remember got 1 or 2 from farming them back in around 2018.

No I tended to do them in 1 or two hour stints. I did two more after this video and one of them took about 10 hours the other was about 20 minutes. You just have to get the lucky roll when you enter the area. I didn't drop one on a character bellow level 6.
Don't give up, I just got it like 3 hour ago and is wonderful leveling up with it, she has some lone for everything, I forgot how beautiful this game is is totally worth it

What is driving the price of it up so high? I thought it fell behind most uniques and wasn't worth much anymore.
I am not sure if it's the trees for this league or there is some amazing new build, but I have never seen them this expensive.

Bad strat, u can make more from selling uber labs doing it really fast first day then u would from doing this. U can also sell completion carries day 2 for even more. Spending that first 14 hours doing this wouldnt make u anywhere close to that from carries early league
What kind of builds do oni work with
Fast attack builds. Think skills like Lacerate, Blade Storm, cyclone. I do have a video on building around this sword. Shout if you need a link. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

@@Altek2k I consider it every league start.. but it took me 12 hours one of the times.. and in 12 hours at league start you could be into yellow or red maps by the time you get the sword to drop. I mostly play ssf so I think it makes sense to do it if you can figure out a way to build around it and use that character to get into red maps using basically only this sword. I imagine it's worth a ton this league so people can gamble crucible trees and maybe hit something build enabling.
@@xXVintersorgXx I think you're spot on, I don't think I'd run it at league start because of the risk of having an unlucky streak, it's a huge gamble. I think you're also right on why the price was so high. I made 20 divines off my 3 this league thougth so not complaiing. I regretting going fror the 4th about an hour in :)
@@Altek2k i kinda wanna try it because while you could technically be in maps making currency you could also sell the oni and use the early currency to buy very cheap items that will go up in price later in the league, there's a lot of items that you can get for 1 div or less early and they become 10-15+. oh and if you hate leveling like me you can use the currency for good leveling uniques and just blast the campaign. the risk of bad luck though is certainly there..btw how many tabulas did you get during this video?

Currently it's possible for uber hillock to spawn the very first time you run a char through the beach, but it's a teeeeeeeeeny tiny chance. The chance increases with char level. It used to be that he would NEVER spawn until your char was level 6 or 7. Honestly dunno which method is worse, either way it's a hell of an RNG grind.

some ppl get it in an hour some dont get it in 20 hours straight. and it's the worst, as nothing drops in twighlight. Good for SSF, otherwise just play the game and buy it because it's dirt cheap compared to the pain and time to get it. In HC you dont take his leap so lightly.

While Scion might run faster, Spectral Throw is so awful that honestly I don't think it's worth the extra movement speed.
Ranger can kill it SO MUCH FASTER with burning arrow at a safe distance.
It's only the first 2 levels that spectral helix feels bad. After that with a 2 handed weapon it's fairly high damage. Thanks for watching!

how to farm oni-gorishi:
step 1: dont farm hillock
step 2: play the game and make some chaos
step 3: buy oni-goroshi from someone who wasted their time
That has been what I normally do until the prices this league got so high.
4 hours per Oni-Gorishi. 0.25 Oni-Gorishis per hour. 5 to 15 Divines per Oni-Goroshi. 1.25 to 3.75 Divines per hour, over 12 hours.
Bruv, this is not 'incredibly profitable'. This is bottom tier slave labour, and it always has been.
This sword is so cheap, nobody should ever farm it in Twilight Strand for economical reasons.
Not even to mention - in Crucible, the result from turning in the Rebirth set is superior to the dropped item. Level 1 items get level 1 Crucible trees, which tend to be shorter than trees on level 80 items.
I only make about 15 divines a week, don't juice my maps or anything so this worked well for me. Sold the first 2 for 13 divines and kept the best one to play with. They normally sell within a day. I think for new players who don't have strong characters it's also really good. You are absolutely right on the crucible trees though. Thanks for watching!

4 hours per seems like a huge time waste honestly. Yeah they are high priced, but just run through the campaigns, and without any special gear you can make multiple times that while mapping white Tier 1 maps (and it is not QUITE as boring as this).

@@Altek2k my first sword took 8 hours .but I wanted to farm for the 90% crit and I got it ,my first was 72 or 80 I don't remember but one of them I gave away to my cousin ,I kind of regret I gave it away so I only have three I think or maybe I sold one I haven't played the game in like 4 years I was playing every day flipping in the game currency or stones so I was really big on Flipping and it was really fun to play the game but it took so much time so I quit the game

oni goroshi is terrible. I've no idea why you posted anything about this, especially in 2023. I actually farmed mine for fun before this vid was posted but every build that uses oni has been long nerfed.
I actually still quite like the sword, It's really good for levelling and it can still pull a few million dps at end game. Thanks for the support as always.
i did like the video, dont get me wrong, thank for your work. but i used oni nearly for a month in ssf, went to lvl 95 with max roll chieftain and it was terrible. i never plan to use it again because dps of sword very low and crit dependant, you get regularly one shot. i tried with juggernaut then you cant dps. at that point event 550dps two hand axe did look better and i swapped to boneshatter. and it was right, no matter how much i did spend to tectonic slam oni build it didnt feel smooth and strong. yes oni was strong couple leagues ago, now its a relic and didnt uptaded by ggg
I last played it with lacerate in 3.19 on a slayer and it felt really strong. The trick is to stack a tonne of crit and attack speed. The slayer has enough leech with vaal pact to offset the her embrace degen.
4 hours you will be in act 8 -10 already with some divine drops
It's very rare to have divines drop during the campain levels. Whats your secret?
I've had 1 divine drop ever before maps in a blood aqueduct run. Never seen a high currency drop prior to maps other than that 1 exception lol

so same "fast" farm as it has allways been.....
It was faster this year than last, not sure if that's just I'm quicker at the game, was less unlucky or they made it easier.
the fastest farm of this weapon lasts 8 hours with luck, and the weapon is still bad, with 8 hours you finish all the acts with everything done and there is still a lot of time left to go to heist to farm 5x the value of the weapon.
I do not recommend farming this weapon
If you get unluck it can take a long time. I did kind of enjoy the different pace to maps for a break this league. But definately not for everybody. Thanks for watching!
