Thanks for providing this setup video. I have been flying for 15 plus years and got in a hurry setting this plane up and in the end I almost lost it on its maiden flight. Long story short with the flaps fully down making my approach to land somehow the motor reversed and the plane went into an very quick and difficulty to control dive...my immediate thought based on the tone of the prop midflight was the prop nut had backed off. I was fortunate and able to quickly put the flaps up and recover before blasting into the earth with this beautiful bird......got it on the ground and cycled thru flaps and sure enough full flaps motor reversed! We all make mistakes...taking off with control surfaces switched...and we learn from them but boy this was a gut wrenching first. Thank you again
Great video! thank you! Question: Are the flight modes on Aux 3 assigned that way in the plane when you buy it? I programmed my NX8 per your instructions and all is working great. all the other switches are easily verified with a visual confirmation on the plane. Is there no way to tell what mode you are in besides the with position? no beep or alarm etc? thanks in advance.
Here is receiver question since you have experience with both. If you were to upgrade from a DX8 G2 for more channels would you choose a NX10 or a iX12?
Unless you really need the two extra channels, I would probably go with the NX10. It’s easier to update, faster response times, upgraded channel processor, Hall effect gimbals. The only thing you would really be missing out on is the touch screen interface, and the text to speech which is nice if you use a lot of voice prompts. You just type in what you want an IX12 to say and it says it, no searching for pre loaded voice prompts. If you don’t care about text to speech, touch interface, pretty pictures of your model, or the two extra channels, the NX10 is the better way to go.
Thank you for the video. I downloaded the file from spektrum website for the Draco, not sure why the flap position is tied to different flight modes. any thoughts?
I am using the Draco with the nx6. There are 3 light modes I can use. Is there a possibility to change one of them ? For example now at position 2 of the switch is light mode 4 - but I want mode 6
Is there any way to remove the rudder/aileron mix from the rx? (I went AS far to program that mix on my NX10, then inhibit it. Didn't help). Has to be IN the factory rx.
What switch? Or what channel? I believe I put Safe on Aux 2, but I could be mistaken there. I always put my flight modes (Safe, AS3X, and Off) on Switch B. The light controller I believe was on the gear channel, with Safe on Aux 2, and Thrust reversing on Aux 3. Safe and Thrust reversing might be the other way around due to some limitations on where you can assign the thrust reversing channel for the Avian ESC’s. I may have had to put Safe on Aux 3.
Just FYI, Horizon just screwed you. I tried to place an order thru your link but since they didn't have it in stock I couldn't use PayPal. I'll just buy it somewhere else.
😂 Sorry man, I don’t even know what to say… Seriously, sorry the pace was too quick, I approach a lot of these with the mentality of - see how quickly this can be done once proficiency is gained. I always prefer to set up my own models as opposed to pre-made model files. Hope the video helped a little, I’ll try to slow it down a bit in the future.
U should've went slower towards the end, speeding up the video was not cool, ur gonna piss a lot of ppl off that way and I'm one of them, I was using this video to set up my NX8 but I started screwing up as SOON AS U STARTED SPEEDING UP THE VIDEO. THANKS BUT NO THANKS
Which part are you referring to? The rates? You do everything exactly the same for the elevator and rudder that you do for the ailerons. I believe I even say as much, repeat this same process for the elevator and rudder. Sorry if you missed that.
@@TheRCAirMarshall you did it's the steps I already knew how to do as should anyone else who is setting up the DRACO. It's not a first plane for new guys
@RECKEM ROYS RC - Sadly, you would be surprised at the number of folks out there who have this equipment, have been flying for years, and are totally dependent on transmitter template files from Spektrum to set up their airplanes. 🤦♂️
@@TheRCAirMarshall well it's great knowing there's a guy like you that will walk you through the tech stuff and make it easy for me to follow. The manual is good but it's confusing to me thanks for the things you do Dave. 👍👍😎✌👊

i realize Im quite off topic but do anybody know of a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
@Randy Bowie I would suggest flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Randy Bowie Try FlixZone. Just search on google for it :)
@Terrence Santino Yea, I have been watching on FlixZone for years myself =)
@Terrence Santino thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :D I appreciate it !

Wow, glad you got her down safe, and glad this video was able to help you out!
Thank you I never used the new Spektrum radio before I just ordered one to go with my new Draco, thanks for your help to get us going.
That was very simple to fallow RC Airmarshall, thank you
That was quick RC Airmarshall will be looking at it now
Thanks for this, I learned a lot about using the radio instead of fighting the manual!!
Thanks, clear video and most of all, the setting are perfect. Cheers !!!
Great video, short informative and to the point. I like that technique of assigning the switches.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback 👍
Awesome Job ! Now if I can just get a Draco to program.
Good example for others!
Thanks
Thanks Perfect timing.
Is this for the E-Flite Micro Draco 800mm?

Just bought the Draco thx for the info,

Thank you for the video, I just set up the Draco, is it normal for the rudder to move left and right in sink when you control the ailerons?
Yes, that aileron to rudder mix is built in to the receiver.
@@TheRCAirMarshall oh great thanks 😊
Where did you put the safe mode on the Draco ?

Does this AR637TA have an Altimeter like the regular AR637T's do? I can't get the Draco altimeter to work, NOR can I find specs on the Draco RX.
Very well explained, thx.
Very informative thank you sir
Good stuff buddy 👍 very helpful 👍
You forgot to set up the safe. I binded mine up with the safe and can't figure out how to turn it off. 🤔
Would you not just use the template?
Just FYI, Horizon just screwed you. I tried to place an order thru your link but since they didn't have it in stock I couldn't use PayPal. I'll just buy it somewhere else.
Jesus Murphy slow the hell down. Changing back and forth at warp speed, faster than I can hit the pause button.
