    Nice job on that Boker👍
    It would be dear to me, if I had fixed it up like you did 😊
    God bless you Ken 🙏

      I love that Boker. Even though I have newer technically better knives in new condition, it is still one of my favorite carries. Somewhere in my channel there is at least one video showing the restoration.

      It surprised me that in the end it was knives that didn't cost much that were the most enjoyable to carry and use. I did do quite a bit of work on each of them and I think that had a lot to do with it.

    Bro, I "liked" your video before I even watched it. Almost all of the other ones seem to be newer style knives. I'm 61 and looking for something more like what I had when I was a kid. Nice to see them reviewed.

      @larrybellucci4708 Thanks! I like and use all types of knives, so you never know what you are going to find here. I even make custom fixed blades, modify knives, and fix knives. A typical carry for me is a modern folder, a slipjiont in a leather slip, and a multitool. Plus a Screwpop razor knife on my keyring. Look them up. The Screwpop is the best small razor knife that there is and they are only 10 or 12 bucks!

    Great video. I'm glad you reminded me of the Solingen made Bokers. I only bave two. I need to see about picking up some more. It's interesting that your favorite traditional knives were the not expensive ones. I'm looking forward to your modern knives video now.

      It kind of surprised me too, but those 2 knives are the ones that I enjoyed carrying and using the most. Part 2 on moderns should be up in a week or so. I am still going through knives and gathering some thoughts.

      Thanks! It's hard to beat carbon steel and patina. I love watching the knife change as it is used. This is something that modern traditional knives with stainless blades lack.

    Great video Ken! Man, I'm going to have to pick up one of those RR stockmans. I've been wanting a large stockman from RR. Thanks for sharing these.. Just goes to show that a good knife does not have to be expensive.

      The Large RR Stockman in T10 is a great knife! Well worth picking up. I still think it's funny that the knives I enjoyed most this year were some of the lowest priced ones! I will have a package going out in the mail tomorrow. We are supposed to get quite a bit of snow tonight so if that happens it will be Monday. I'll email you a tracking number.

    I have that same Case large stockman in amber bone. Hopefully I'll get one of those C. Risners in the future, man that Lake Champlain is a beauty. Thanks for the share!

      @LastChanceKnives  9 месяцев назад +1

      The Lake Champlain's are every bit as nice as a Jack Wolf and $100 less! They are built to perfection. I still like carbon steel the best, though. It is way too much fun to watch the knife change as it is used!

    I have the Rough Ryder Stockman and it is pretty darn nice. I just swapped over to it for my carry today 😆

      I have really enjoyed the RR and am carrying it today. This video turned out much different than what I thought. At first I was thinking that the more expensive moderns would be on top.! As I examined what has been carried over the year and how much satisfaction came from carrying each knife these two came to the top.

    Those Ohio RV. Jacks are nice and you did an awesome job on the blades. One of these days I'll pull the trigger on a Jack Wolf. Great knives Ken Thank you for showing them all

      Thanks for taking a look! This was a tough one. In the end it came down to liking the knives that I worked on and brought new life to the best. When I had the idea to make this video I thought one of the expensive knives was going to win!

    Some great knives for sure. I had planned on saving up for Hedgehog this year but ended up winning one (much better than what I had planned on getting). I imagine they aren't much different that the Lake Champlain barlows. They look like awesome knives! I have one of the large RR stockmans as well. Really excellent knife!

    • @LastChanceKnives
      @LastChanceKnives  9 месяцев назад +1

      The Hedgehog is an excellent knife, I saw your video. QSP males the ORJ and LCB so they have a lot of similarities. I really like the value and quality of QSP. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get that quality either. Their lower priced knives are very well built, just with less expensive materials.

    I think that "best knife" is liked so much because it was all messed up and probably headed for the garbage and you saved it. kind of the ugly duckling of the bunch. I mean that with no disrespect. I think sometimes we get an attachment to things if we have to fix them or they just look worse for wear..Thats how I feel about my barbell. I bought it used off Marketplace. It looks like it was not taken care of. Worn out. Probably outdoors or looks it.. Its been painted,zero knurling and probably most people would have thrown it out already. BUT theres something about it. I feel ive probably given it the use it was looking for. Paint is coming off. It looks bad..BUT I love it for whatever reason. Good video and glad you saved that knife..

      My knife and your bar have a few things in common with there current owners. They have aged a bit and have some wear and tear, but still function well 😂🤣😂 I am going to have to do a video on this subject, just about everything I carry has either been modified or home made!

    Another great video man! While the C reinser blades and Jack wolf blades are cool, I’d expect that for $200-$300. But the true gem here is the rough Ryder. Just like you said, for $12, you’re getting a knife just as good as the case, only 1/5 the price. RR’s, got me into traditional patterns, cuz they’re made well and are inexpensive so you can buy a bunch and not spend that much. Every so often, I’ll do a $100 order from SMKW or Chicago knife works, and it’s mostly RR or marbles, and you get a bunch of cool knives that don’t cost a bunch. I love case too, but to me their quality has slipped a bit, but the prices sure haven’t. Really enjoy watching your vids, especially the ones where you’re showing us how you fix/customize your stuff. It inspires me to do the same. Be safe

      I have done the same thing. Drop around $100 to SMKW and get a big box o knives! RR's are fun to get like that. They are an inexpensive way to test out new patterns. A few months ago I made a video opening up a box of RR's.
