Nice video! Maybe add some zip ties, and or some wire.
I have already done as you suggested. After using the kit for many months now it has been tweaked and fine tooned quite a bit. I am just about ready to post an update video.
This is a knife I would liked to have had when I was working, installing water, and sewer extensions. Working in a ditch, your pocket collects dirt, you need something as tough as nails! That may have been when my pocket watch stopped working. Any nice tool😊 5:35
It is a nice Stockman and makes an excellent work knife. The price is also very good. If they are still available it would be one that is worth picking up.
I prefer Yes 🔪🔪
Good answer! 🤣😂🤣
Excellent kit. I'd only add a 14mm socket as it is one of the most common sizes.
Thanks! The kit has been improved a lot over the months that it has been used. One of the improvements has been the selection of sockets and there is a 14mm in there now. The changes have made a serious improvement and I am just about ready to make an updated video.
I'm a big Cold Steel fan myself. You've got a great collection and some of my favorites. I'm so disappointed with what GSM has already done to CS. I'm really hoping they will turn it around. If not I think it'll be the end of Cold Steel soon.
It's been a while since I have bought a new Cold Steel knife so I don't know what is currently going on with quality. If they don't maintain the same standard the name will be ruined. That would be a shame!
Nice review ! So, in the back of the flex companion, there is a bit driver that can't be replace by another short tool ?
Thanks! The bit driver is permanently installed. It would be a nice option to exchange it, but the tool would have to be bigger in order for that to work.
@@LastChanceKnives Thanks for this precision. If you find a versatile bit, it's cool (one side flat head / one side philips).
@@07Arpegius I haven't found a good double sided bit yet. I did find one that work decent for Phillips, but is too wobbly to use the straight bit. I am still looking. If I find something it will be in a video update.
The extended bit is exactly what Iv been looking for!! Doing that mod VERY soon.
The extended bit is a great mod. With it I have the extra reach that is needed to get to recessed screws. Of all the mods this one is the most important. Will you post a video when it is completed? I would love to see what you come up with.
Man I need to commission you to make a strop. Very nice work
Thanks for the tutorial. 👍 I have at least 40 case knives going back to the mid 1970’s. IMO the quality control has really gone downhill. I just returned a Case Razor for exchange (after getting another perfect one with different covers) as the blade was actually making contact with the liner and the bolster was so badly ground it was slanted at a 30 degree angle! The replacement fixed those issues, but the walk and talk was so bad the blades would only close 80% of the way! I finally cleaned out all the gunk from assembly with PB blaster and lubed them with Teflon spray to mostly fix that, then noticed the Case logo is crooked in the scale on one side (magicians rwo-sided razor) which is a dumb complaint but it looks stupid. I’m not up for exchanging it again, so guess I’ll keep it, but it’s like they’re just phoning it in lately. A few months ago I got a Delrin sodbuster that had to have the ends completely reground on a belt to even be remotely even, and the edge deburred. The cheapest slipjoints from China don’t have these issues. By the way, none of my Trappers has a visible pin in the bolster. (?). Maybe that just popped under tension from your pliers, but mine are all polished out and invisible, even on the 50 year old trappers.
@E.L.RipleyAtNostromo Look at some of my newer videos. This one was my first attempt and was a learning process. I did several after this in just a few minutes without loosening the pivot. Follow those videos, not this one! I learn by trial and error over time. It is surprising how much the quality can vary on slipjoints. Most modern knives are pretty close to perfect. Newer manufacturing processes make it easier to get right. One of my favorite slipjoint manufacturers is Rosecraft. The quality is incredible and the prices are right.
@@LastChanceKnivesThanks, I’ll check your other videos out for sure, and make sure I’m subscribed. And 100% on the Rosecraft blades, I literally just discovered them three months ago on TPK and have already bought several, and am amazed at the build quality. Thanks again! 👍🙏
I preordered the Flex Companion unfortunately they sent me a left handed blade i did reach out to them they are sending the correct right hand blade . The Companion is a really nice multi tool really great quality . I do wish they would have implemented the pen & tweezers into the Scales the same way victorinox & others do instead of wasting a slot on those little tools .
@J2k1980 Your right the accessories should be in the scales, it would save 2 slots. This just may be a future 3D printing project!
Pretty knives 👍
Thanks! I have a few more from the Stoeworx series on the way now. I can't believe how nice they are and how inexpensive!
@LastChanceKnives You should treat yourself to a David Yellowhorse 🙂
Cool carry 😊
Gotta have a little fun on that day!
@LastChanceKnives Yeah, I was surprised 😀🤪
Good idea. Looks great, brother. 😊
After doing a few "cheap" knives I felt good enough to do the same thing to a Rosecraft Briarpatch. It took the knife to another level. There will be a video on it soon.
@LastChanceKnives you could probably sell them and make a little money 💰 🤑 💸
Great work on the Imperial 😊
Thanks! I love the added grip plus the look. You must have been really board to watch so many of my videos! 🤣 LOL I appreciate it!
@LastChanceKnives I'm subscribed to so many now, I can't hit them every day. Sometimes, when I get around to it, it's three months later. I say, man, I can't believe that. I not only want to support you, but you have good content. Thoughtful and informative, no bull. I enjoy watching them.🙏🙂👍
I still think, for the money, their the best hard use knife made.🙂
I don't think there is anything tougher and better for the money when a good working or fun knife is required. Yup, fun knives are required too!
Nice review. Thanks for sharing that 😊👍
The Flex multitool and the Companion are really neat. I have been playing around with different tool loadouts depending on what is planned for the day.
@LastChanceKnives I definitely can see the advantage. Especially if you have all the blades.
This is awesome brother!
Love Cold Steel Knives! There is probably not a better or tougher working knife for the money. Plus the fun ones too!🤣
Thanks for your review. I like the Flex Companion. It's a very clever design. I replaced the saw blade in mine with the long diamond file.
Do you have the Flex Multitool? The pair of them are so fun to play with!
@@LastChanceKnives I don't have the Flex yet, but I will probably get it at some point.
Power litre is better with that lock. Btw nobody is using enymore flat drivers? I eaven don't reamamber when last time I see one..
I have the need for different size flat drivers just about everyday. We all run into different things in our everyday life and at work. In the IT field they are quite common
A beauty 🎉
I like it a lot. Now I have to get out and test it. Things have been too busy lately, but it'll get done soon!
Continued success Chris👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Good collection and I have quite a few of those very same Cold Steel Folder , and Cold Steel is my favorite knife brand and especially the Tri Ad Lock versions. 😊
Thanks! I have been buying Cold Steel Knives since the early 90's. They have always made a good strong work knife.
Great video. Love Cold Steel. Great company.
@@DavidBurge-xf8zx Thanks! Cold Steel does make some great knives! I still have a couple that I bought over 30 years ago that are still going strong.
@@LastChanceKnives Got a Double Safe Hunter, Peacemaker 3 and Gentleman's Stockman from CS. Looking for another piece from them. Any recommendations in the budget realm?
@@DavidBurge-xf8zx I have a Large Stockman and two Trappers that are really nice. They have 8CrMov blade steel which is a step up in edge retention from what we normally get in traditional knives. The Stockman is screw together and the trappers blades are dead center.
I just bought one of these and it should be here in a few days. After loving the KS2 Elite and a longtime Victorinox fan, I am super excited for this. Might make a few videos of my own comparing the scissors to those found on the 91 mm Vic.
The KS2 Elite is a very cool tool. I love those scissors and D2 blade. I have had several Victorinox tools over the last 20 years or so and have a ton of their pocket knives. They make a high quality tool, probably even a bit better than Leatherman. Although Leatherman has the edge in flexibility. The Roxon isn't quite as good quality wise, but it is not far behind. It is just awesome that it can be configured any way you want. It has been a long time since I was this excited about a multitool!
@@LastChanceKnivesoh me too! What Roxon has been working on for the last year or so you can see the evolution of what they are building on and the direction they are going is absolutely a good direction. They are filling a need. When you present a product that’s built to solve a problem, it’s destined to be a success.
Not a shocker, still high quality products and the (worldwide) buyer gets a deal. Buck does the same with their classic pocket knives; Stockman and Trio. Good video thumbs up
The ones with Chinese sourced parts are still good knives. If you go with the ones in D2 they are built better than a Case knife is. It's just tricky and the buyer should know what they are getting.
And where is TiLite 6?
You know I don't have one of those! 😱😱
Loving the Flex Companion. I'll probably pair it with a Roxon M3 which frees up the scissor and awl slots. I'll replace the saw with a diamond file which frees up the small crosscut file slot. Because it is modular with a lot of options, it will an excellent "companion" to a lot of other tools. For example, a Victorinox Ranger. That would free up FOUR slots in the Companion for specialty tools (crosscut file, saw, scissors, awl)!
@ParkerBinion I think the Companion will pair well with any multitool. The overlap of tools can be avoided. Right now I have my Flex setup with the tools that I need daily and the Companion has tools for working with wood.
I wonder what it would cost if it was made in Switzerland or Oregon.
@LarryReynolds591 True, but that is not what I am getting at here. In Oregon, the latest innovation is new colors for a premium price and in Switzerland it is adding a pocket clip to a tool that has been in production for 20 years! Innovation and listening to customers is the point. I believe they are an American company having their tools made overseas. I would love to see a premium version of their tool with upgraded material made in the US.
Very cool!
@@jeffjackson5331 How long have people been asking for a build your own Leatherman? This even tops that. I just love how the tool can be customized!
@ very true! That is cool!
There are a lot of people including me that modify Leatherman's. Many have been asking for this for years. If Leatherman would add a custom build to go along with their custom colors and engravings they would make a lot of sales! When I saw Roxon's tools I just had to have one! It is so nice to be able to configure the tool for what you are doing.
@ very true! They would definitely make alot of money if they did that.
These are great. First video you did a few weeks ago i thought it was great then. But the companion makes it the true dynamic duo.
@thebodybeatdownDiTi Well, by now you know that I just can't leave anything alone. That's why I like these tools so much. There is only 1 other tool on the market that is modular but it is not refined enough yet. It is called the GOAT. Strange name!
Hell yeah! I have this model and damn is it a razor!!! nice job. I want to lean how to do jigging.
Thanks! Recently I made a video of the process of adding scallops to a RR Large Stockman with delrin covers. It is a little more involved with bone, but overall pretty similar. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/rb6VRKUSWqg/видео.html
Thats more scalloped than potatoes..Good job
Well we had mashed today and I wanted scalloped so a little project was in order!
Very Nice, I wish I had the b,a..l::l;;$!!! To do something like to one of my Rosecraft Blades!!! 👍 Barlow Madness!!
Thanks! It's not that bad to do once you work up the nerve!
I ordered the Queen U.S.A. stag trapper last night. Really stoked to get it. I got an Amber Winterbottom Bone Queen Trapper recently and it’s amazing. Really great quality and F&F. I’m impressed so far.
@Lunarpreparedness I hope it turn out to be a good one! The Queens that I have bought so far are all keepers! I haven't looked at the line since my initial purchase and haven't yet seen the Amber Winter Bone! Sounds interesting. I'm going to take a look at what they have now! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
@ you too, brother. Have a great Thanksgiving. The Winterbottom jig bone is great. Very similar to Barn Board jigging. Definitely worth a look into.
@@Lunarpreparedness There is a lockbak with amber winter bottom bone that I just added to my cart. It's a good size with a 3.4" blade. I think that is the one I am going g to get.
@ awesome. I hope it’s a great one. Queen USA seems to have really good F&F across the board. I’ve been really impressed with everyone’s knives. And it’s a nice break from Case knives. I just got the Lime Green Barn Board Trapper in the mail and the Spey blade feels like it’s about to wiggle loose. So…Back to the factory it goes. But I have high hopes for these new Queen knives. I really like them so far.
using the luzon as your letter opener is crazy work haha
@ivannolia5458 The Luzon is just plain fun and it really does make a nice letter opener 😁
My favorites cold steel are ad10 spear point, recon 1 clip point, 4max scout, american lawman and broken skull
@alessiotraverso9201 Somehow your comment double posted. I answered the other one.
My favorites cold steel are ad10 spear point, recon 1 clip point, 4max scout, american lawman and broken skull
@alessiotraverso9201 Those are all great choices! It is hard to go wrong with Cold Steel. They may not have the latest and fastest lock, but more importantly they have a very strong lock, which is important in a working knife.
@@LastChanceKnives Absolutely agree cold steel is a sturdy knife with a granite block. Reliable, safe and cuts like a charm. Since Lynn Thompson has been gone there has been a drop in quality I hate to say but that's how it is. I'm Italian I hope I answered correctly
You have a great collection of Cold Steel folders, thanks for sharing. 👍I only have one, the Recon 1 spear-point in s35vn and I like it a lot. 👌Take care my friend and Cheers!
@@singingtoad The Recon 1 in any version is such a great knife! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Lynn would be proud with all those tantos!
@pretztel1551 I love a good tanto! Lynn would want to see one with serrations, though! I don't like serrations for an edc knife that is going to be used for work.
Solid lineup! Thanks for showing these off, buddy!
@@davidkurle5418 I do love my Cold Steel Knives! I've been buying them for at least 30 years now!

@@gvines You didn't watch until the end!
Everything in that kit looks very useful, I'm not sure whether the knipex stuff is worth the money, kinda like a write in the rain note book, or space pen that everyone puts in their kits, you added a pencil thats a smart use of money, otherwise useful stuff in your kit
The Knipex are worth the money if you frequently use this type of tool. They grip better and do not slip which means that you do not damage the fastener that you are working on. I would say that between the pliers and the pliers wrench it's the pliers wrench that I use most often. They are much better than an adjustable. The write in the rain stuff is not worth the money unless you find yourself in a wet environment quite often. Years ago on my channel I made a video on converting a very cheap pen to a write in the rain one. A quick mod allows it to accept the refills which are available cheap. I like the cartridges because they are pressurized and will write with the pen upside down.
Knipex is very much worth it.
@@WalterMelons 💯
@@WalterMelons where would you use a 4" mini pliers,I didn't say knipex was a bad brand, some of these mini tools seem silly for the money, like $70 for 2 little pliers
@@davidpaul7707 good kit to throw in a backpack or somewhere when you won’t have a full bag of tools at hand. They’re better than a leatherman.

I have most of them...but no Espada yet...=)
@Tardisius You have to get an Espada then. Of The two the large is more practical than the XL. Did I say practical? LOL 🤣
3 of my favorites are the large Espada, Recon 1, AD10
@@halcooper6059 I like the large Espada and the Voyager XL a lot. They both hit the sweet spot for a large knife that still is excellent for edc and that disappears in the pocket.
I like everyone of them. LOL.. all quite similar but I'm sure very different in feel operation and tasks..
@thebodybeatdownDiTi They are similar but different and every one is a keeper!

@@MacBeanScottishFitness Thanks! Cold Steel makes a great knife for a great price. Many of them I have had for years.
These knives turned out great, Ken. Glad you were able to save that Case and OT from the scrap.
Knives that I have worked on end up getting carried a lot more than ones I haven't. It's funny how that works. I do love the scallops. They look better, but more importantly now have a good grip. Have a Great Thanksgiving!
Great mods on all of those. thanks for sharing...Jim
Thanks! I am really happy with how they turned out, much nicer than plain smooth delrin.
How did you go about tightening up the bolsters?
@peterfreidel7721 Take a look at this video. In it I tighten the blades and sand/polish the bolsters. ruclips.net/video/eUXy8HMk9o8/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks, I did get some of the side to side play out with a padded vise@@LastChanceKnives
@@peterfreidel7721 I am glad that the simple fix worked! Since the pins were not peened the wobble may return over time. The Old Timer in the video was really loose and way passed squeezing in a vice. For some reason I pictured you were dealing with one that was pretty bad. If it gets loose again the best thing to do is peen the pins so that it holds the bolsters together. You may be lucky and never have to touch it again, which would be great!
