Literally pirates intercepting a yatch full of businesswomen.
Warhammer being warhammer, businesswomen also all had nuclear warheads in their purses.
All of these high elven cougar businesswomen day drinking mimosas on their pleasure yacht.... ten things you'll never guess that happened next
😂
Sisicco: look at me, I'm the captain now.
I guess I am kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?
This legit sounds like a real life situation - tanker with valuable cargo gets intercepted by some Somali pirates.
Hey i have seen this
Exept they dont take prisoners
Great thing we have SEAL Team Cheese to take care of situations like this
@@Xmaster540 yeah exactly
@@wastedtime9900 no, most of the times somali pirats make more money selling the ostages of selling the cargo
ImagIne sending an army carrying your entire nation’s economy on its back... *And here come the literal freakin’ Pirates of the Carribean.* 🏴☠️ That’s as Lore-friendly as it gets, minus elves. 🤣
"Captain, why can I hear the Pirates of the Caribbean theme?"
Wtihout escort!
it's more treasure island than POTC. the Urca De Lima was launched in 1715, with a cargo of 5.8 million (1/4rth of Spain's national funds at the time). it was sunk, cargo never recovered. treasure island is a glorified representation of the pirates that took it. POTC is a knock-off treasure island, except with Johny Depp and zombies... I guess shit really does roll downhill.
There are as many Elves to die as the books need...
@@GoodMorningHikers Bear in mind that "Here come the literal freakin' Pirates of the Carribean" was in reference to them being undead, cursed, pirates over anything else.
"CAPTAIN!"
"Ye-yeah?"
"LOOK!"
Seeing Legend starts overcasting Spirit Leech and Melkoth's Mystifying Miasma:
Damn, looks like this one here is more just than a disaster, it is a catastrophe.
Godzilla Threshold has been crossed. All bets are off.
Cataclysm
This isn't a disaster. Its the apocalypse.
This would be like the next financial crisis taking us back to the bronze age.
Now i know what really happened in 2008.
lol, bronze age = how normal ppl play without cheese xD
Captain Sisicco, also known as Captain Subprime Mortgage Lending Crisis
lets go
The thing is, he's still making 116k gold per turn without them, so it's not that of a financial crisis.
Ah, yes the pirate factions, every game I either:
-constantly want to send two stacks to wipe them out while still at peace but never actually do it
-am far enough from the ocean to not care about them
I just always ignore them. Even when I'm on the coast.
They actually respawn so hunting them doesnt do anything
@@gustavosanches3454 Is that on harder difficulties? I always play on hard and once I've killed Galleon's graveyard or Sartossa and whatnot they never come back. If I get anything in the late game it's rogue armies or my own stupidity allowing a city to revolt.
@@gustavosanches3454 oh wtf rly? Damnnnnnnn
They are a good way to level up Lords without starting wars with powerfull factions
This situation may sound absurd, but there is a high possibility that something like this may have already happened in warhammer lore
High value dignitaries getting taken hostage by pirates. Happens in the real world too.
Yeah, consider it's Warhammer. But it may happen in the real world too where transport ship get robbed off important folks on the sea.
Why not send them as individual heroes with less risk...
@@Anton_Jermakoŭ do you wanna move 19 units to ơn place nineteenth times, or one?
@@Anton_Jermakoŭ It’s lazy but very convenient, especially late game when you already gotta micromanage a whole bunch of stuff.
The fact that it was pirates that caught this army slipping made me laugh way too hard.
As much as a like doomstack vids, these kinda battles where legend really needs to try new or more complex cheese tactics are just great
This is actually a super interesting battle, I love the idea and the risk/weight behind it.
I did not think I was capable of being stunned by one of these scenarios anymore, but *wow* this sure is something else.
Definitely made me go and spend all the levels that I'd been ignoring on my money mages!
You plan on moving them? Ever?
Is Lothern still the most profitable province?
Oh wait, Legend discusses it at the end of the video.
@@OpiatesAndTits Unlikely. And if I do, it certainly won't be in an army in forced march. But it still made me feel weird about just leaving them.
Pretty sure you avoid 90% of the close runs in this battle by giving them horses.
And this is why you recruit your entrepreneurs at the white tower so they start at level 13 or something.
You and your east donut ivory tower mindsets!
@@JB-xl2jc Bring me BATTLE
Gotta say, this one is fucking hilarious.
Perfect situation to describe "Putting all eggs in one basket"
And drop the basket into the sea
And all this just to click fewer times than moving them safely as agents.
This game writes some amazing stories sometimes :- D
this is the reason why i keept playing warhammer, and the hard fights when your artillery needs to charge are just unforgetable
This is the equivalent of having your trade ships raided in empire
Portuguese black ships comes to mind
Normally I skip some of the long casts but this one was gripping from the start and I just had to watch all of it. This battle extols the reasons why Legend deserves his moniker... this battle, although time consuming was Legendary. Great cast. Thanks Legend
You know it's serious when Legend uses 4 control groups.
Uses control groups for all except the 3 that he does the most with, which he still selects with rectangle selection or click-shift-click...
Recovering from Pearl Harbour was a walk in the park for the U.S. compared to recovering from this kind of loss... But papa Legend was there for the rescue. Guerrilla tactics always works
Pretty much, If Japan didn't get unlucky and the carriers were at pearl harbour like they were supposed to be then the US capability in the pacific would of been dead.
Now this battle is if the carriers were at the harbour. Every single carrier(Hero) That survives is one less hit to your Economy(Capability)
Watching this reminds me of when an author writes a side novel about all the nerdy secondary characters who end up having to stand on their own and prove themselves.
God tier thumbnail.
took a shot everytime you said "balance of power" Legend, only made it to 44 mins before I passed out :)
Pirates intercept business cruise for ransom. Rich entrepreneurs fight back with guerilla tactics
It's like when Denmark sent their gold reserves to safety before WW2. The heads of the central bank who ordered the move didn't sleep for days untill the gold arrived.
Haven’t heard of that before. It sounds quite interesting.
That feeling when you lose all your moneymakers in one go.
Elven entrepreneurs learn why the merchants boats travelling from India to Europe were so profitable for pirates
Even while taking place in Fantasy, Total War will have a link to history.
I'd just turn the battle timer on and run around there's no way you're getting me to fight this.
Top tip: Melkoth's applies a slow as well as damage, would have stopped the depthguard in their tracks as you could have hit them with burning heads and such
This might be the most interesting campaign saving video you've done. And damn, good freaking job...
when the IRA raids a bank money van...
So the takeaway from this is don't be lazy. Send your entrepreneur wizards individually even if it takes 5 minutes.
Yeah no reason they need to go in a lord army when heroes can't be attacked at sea
Putting them in an army gives them the ability to force march. Adds up in longer trips.
@@andrewschaus4981 Well, isn't forced march the actual distance a hero can cover ? I reckon when put in an army they can only cover a portion of the distance they would be able to otherwise. Am I wrong ?
When you use all you distance with an army, the embedded heroes can still move a distance corresponding to the forced march distance...
One of the most interesting battles you've done, Legend.
When the pirate just failed the greatest hold up of the history of Warhammer :
Crisis, apocalypse... Come on - this is late compaign, where this guy is obviously dominating. He can loose twice that enterprenewrs and still be ok.
The battle itself, on the other hand, was a real disaster and test of skills. You have all my respect Legend - it was a pleasure to watch how you chease and solve this case!
?? All of his Economy will be in those heroes, He loses them he will lose a lot of gold per turn and might not be able to maintain as many armies, less armies means you will have to sacrifice some settlements , Less settlements mean less Income as well, so he might have to cut back again.
Me: 5 to 7 minute bloodbath hoping my collective strength and 'tactics' get me the win
Legend: so anyways here's how to beat this apocalypse scenario first try
I almost died choking on water when you explain that they were caught by pirates. Make me imagin vampires riding Somali pirate boats attacking a oil tanker
I know that was painful to do... But man, sure enjoyed seeing the creative ways you struggled and fought to come up with to win that one. No way I could have done that. SUPER lucky you got that map though!
Pirates vs Entrepreneurs: The Battle For Wall Street
I listen to this when I feel a need to disconnect from my own problems. See someone else deal with other peoples problems. Thanks legend. Like Ramsey on kitchen nightmares for gamers.
This is definitely one of my favorite disasters battles ever covered
This is the type of content I friggin love am I right fellas
this is why i subbed, love the save my campaign battles.
LOL! I had this happen once! I was so tired of having a huge amount of “Hero not moved” notifications so I stuffed them into an army so I could just move the army and save myself 20 notifications per turn. Wasn’t paying attention and they got attacked 😂
You do know that you can turn off those notifications right?
Good thing he leveled their spells, I usually don't bother with it on my entrepreneurs.
Yeah, I always put points in campaign skills - just to be able to get rid of a random enemy hero which could try to assasinate
when the trees start speaking magic
You saved a lot of money that the player doesnt need
This is why they tell you not to put all your eggs in one basket.
Because if you do, zombie pirate vampires will come and crush them all.
or something like that
ya know you could have avoided the battle by just having the heroes leave the army and walk the rest of the way on foot.
I tried this actually. I could only get about six of the mages out since there isn't enough sea-squares for them. Pirates were still able to attack.
I don't get why he put them in an army to begin with? Couldn't he just have moved the heroes individually or am I dumb
@@mybossismybaby728 Heroes move slower on their own than (some/most) armies.
How did I only see this video now! Incredible
52:06 - Legend sounds super convincing. Like, you could 100% use that voice-clip in the LoTR for someone wanting to get the hell outta Osgilliath or Minas Tirith.
Legend, accomplished voice actor
3-4 months late, most epic title ever and thumbnail
After looking at the thumbnail at least 5 times, i cought myself laughing at least 10 times. Ftw i cant get over it. Great Job.
The trees are talking for these pirates lol
Funniest part is that the whole "army" is just a convenience thing, saves moving the heroes separately. Totally relatable.
Not putting them on mounts and not throwing in some combat stuff while splitting them into two armies is just reckless
Greatest thumbnail so far.
This is a total disaster but I can't blame the guy for getting into it. The whole thing just looks ludicrously unlucky. I would be screwed because I give all my entrepreneurs map skills like blocking armies and such but then I never put my entrepreneurs into an army. It would certainly make them easier to transport and easier to skip their turns ... actually I may start doing exactly that and hope I don't end up in a situation like this one.
The entrepreneurs have more movement than an army on force march though it does take less turns to move them even though it is much more effort.
1 Arch Mage and 19 entrepreneurs go on a business trip, but are attacked by pirates? Somebody make this canon Warhammer lore!
Easily the most impressive thing i've seen Legend pull off.
lol, that is hilarious! Most original SYDB yet!
Alternate Titel: Save me, spirit leach
Pirates finally choose right targets to plunder. Lol 😂
Awesome title and hilarious situation. GJ
I wish we could make custom scenarios for Total Warhammer, because something like this would be really fun to try
You are truly a legend.
Your money and your life- Warhammer sea raider.
Best thumbnail yet.
on the edge of my seat for this one lol
They don't have a forest penalty so might be good to blob them up in the woods and lure people in. One Minotaur hero built to go as fast as they can could be your sneaky arty killer/lure. Know you talked about grouping single entity units together to reduce enemy DPS but it also seems to work really good for low entity units. Have been using clumps of skinwolves and trolls with marauder champs squeezing people into the furry blender and it works pretty good in single player.
Must lucrative heist the pirates ever attempted.
Take a shot every time she says men'lui, orio men'lui
Saving your disaster battle and disaster campaign in one video
Now this, this is a proper disaster battle
and Joe Exotic as the thumbnail xD very suiting lol
Never seen this map before but god damn, you could build an amazing defence here with an actual army
Watching this video is a prime location for just setting yakety sax on repeat.
Now that's a doomstack allright.
BEST . THUMBNAIL . EVER .
Cheese for the cheese God!
Quintex for the Entrepenour God!
Why not use metal magic?? It's pretty good especially with this many winds and a final transmutation would hit everything in the radius being quite effective against the more large units and cav type (Prometheans)
Historical bias. He didn't like lore of metal before. And to be fair it was quite shite before the buffs
A real save! Awesome
How does CA not program the AI to continue when a unit is spotted or to send mobile units to scout IF no detection, etc? It's fun and I've done similar things with hiding units but it shatters immersion. You should still be able to run and hide, just not run into forest and go into "undetected" mode. The enemy should at least investigate the immediately adjacent forest you're hiding in.
same problems with strategic level AI against scaven. AI almost NEVER fights scaven and gives no Fs that there are several regions in ruins at their border
Because if you code that in then people will figure out how to bait the AI into sending half their units into empty forests and then people will complain that the AI is dumb and that they should remove it.
@@lowkey_Ioki we are no where near the tech to have smart AI, all we can get is cheating AI
best thumbnail + title ever
Simplest way out of such a situation would be to activate the shortest time limit and run away until the countdown hits.
But that would be quite dissatisfying.
Most efficient way would be killing the enemy Lord. Spirit-leech the Lord to death and the rest will crumble.
FYI, sniping the lord would only cause crumbling on low difficulty. This was either VH or legendary, where the AI gets a load of buffs to its leadership, which makes lord-sniping useful but not super-effective.
@@jon_j__ They´re VAMPIRE COAST, just like Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings, without Lord the army crumbles away.
Might take a bit longer on high difficulty, but the end result should be the same.
@@sim.frischh9781 that's not how it works
@@sim.frischh9781 never underestimate the cheats the A.I gets at higher difficulties. Multiple tubers, even pro players, have done tests against the A.I. at higher levels and the one complaint they all have is units just fight to the death no matter the leadership penalties stacked against them. Its the #1 reason why cavalry are not good in campaign, A.I. units just don't break.
@@sim.frischh9781 the army doesn't auto crumble without a lord. The leadership penalty for him dying is definitely useful but not an auto win in the slightest.
12:12 38:48 high pitched mocking compilation
this is the disaster battle with the highest stakes of all time

Just wanna say, I'm not subscribed but I always love when your videos pop up in my recommended, you're such a charismatic dude and you seem very chill. And you make some good videos.
I'm amazed you didn't use endless magic exploit on this one
Don't threaten Legend's piggy bank
Whole army full of wizards, didn't use pit of shades once, waiting for the day when Legend realizes how good that is overcasted.
If we took a shot for every balance of power in a video we'd have died from alcohol poisoning. XD XD
Firstly, sorry for my broken English.
I would love to play that battle. Be honest I think Legend did terrible job using spells, wasting magic in this battle and the way he put them in group.
Examples:
-heal random heroes
-did not check what mage have cheaper spell to middle of the battle.
-shadow wizard should be with running heroes (can use slow on enemy)
-he used few spirit leach in same time on one units, and that doesn’t stack, one SL per time, 13s and another. 11:32
-Spirit leach is amazing for units with 16 and less entities, if more don't use it.
-fireball vs over casted fire ball it's essential double dmg to high armor. (AP DMG!, more explosion dmg, and larger explosion radius. it's 720 dmg vs 720+360AP=1080 dmg.
-summoned unit also are amazing to distract enemy and save mages
-combo of Upgraded Piercing Bolts of Flaming and slow spell. was best for high armour enemy
it soo many times wrong spell used for wrong target.
also in desperate you can boost mage ability to fight male, and when that is 10 of them they will won most male infantry that was in that battle.
if someone have that save file i can give you my e-mail.
am I the only one who wants to see more battles like these?
well... it wasn't THAT bad... he still would have had millions in treasury and over 100k income per turn without those mages... but still, i can't believe you actually pulled of that win :o i think on just about any map other than that one there'dd be no friggin way lol
Millions in the treasury that will be eaten up quickly by all of his armies , so he will have to get rid of some meaning he will probably lose some settlements.
Less settlements = Less income
Less income = Less armies you can field
Less armies = You cant hold as much territory
Rinse and repeat
Its a downward spiral that WILL be hard to recover from.
and the best thumbnail of all time award goes to...
Truly, saving a disaster
