Gurl, you have my mouth over here salvatating!! 😅😂 I could imagine tasting the different flavors and different textures of each dish! Lawd have mercy...that didn't last long enough for me. Lol
OMG the hummus bowl with the olive oil center and the green salad 👩🏾🍳😘! Everything looks really good. I’m such a Mediterranean food fan! Thank you for sharing. 🤎
ES, afehyiapa ooo! Please do more of this, that is interiors, travelling around Ghana, because you are good at this. I am really enjoying this from my cold sofa in London.
This is a beautiful establishment. I'm pretty particular about my spending though and like to make sure that I support the local indigenous owners when I travel. I need to know that most of the funds stay in the country to better the local folks and hopefully they are paid right. This doesn't apply to you since you live there but I'm mentioning it as a traveler. I don't mean to spoil the mood, carry on.🙂
🥹 The tabbouleh salad was everything!! I cannot believe I’ve gone this long without it! You must find some or try to grow it. I started growing some before I left.
It will be nice if you and Vim Man travel somewhere for a short vacation. If he says no, insist ❤… Go somewhere else like Accra or Volta for about 3 days ❤❤❤
You mentioned olives as olive oil. If you are inflamation sensitive, why eat refined flour? I have also learnt that some sea foods like shrimps cause high blood pressure or heart palpitations.
Raw olive oil is the perfect oil and is not inflammatory. I follow a Mediterranean and Asian diet now which has always been a better option for me. There’s a difference in the kind of oils we consume. Iv never had any issues with sea food or wheat/ gluten sensitivities. I choose not to eat canola oil, sunflower oil, vegetable, or seed oils in general. They are toxic. I listen to my own body and go off of how I’ve been eating here in the country. High carbohydrates, canned items, bad oils, overly cooked food, and the indirect consumption low quality items, Maggie etc. My case is exclusive to me and eating pita in moderation is not inflammatory. Maybe if someone ate it everyday, possibly.
Accra Ghana seems like a great place to visit. Is it a safe place? We are looking for a place to visit. We never been to Africa. Let me know your opinion. That food looked delicious it made me want to travel there. lol- for real
Oh wow, I hope you get the spinal treatment you need and it’s great to have a little vacation every now and then. I heard of the anti-inflammation diet. I think it’s also known as the Mediterranean, low-carb or the DASH diet that focuses on eating whole foods and avoiding process foods. Interesting you mention oils because the vegetable seed oils (high in omega 6) can be inflammatory, but since I never liked the vegetable seed oils, I’ve been using duck fat, beef tallow, and clarified butter (ghee). I don’t know if you can find those in Ghana but you can make your own clarified butter with unsalted butter. Also, the food at that Lebanese restaurant looks great but how can it not have falafel? The best falafel was in Beirut, Lebanon. On Uber, I use Uber regularly when traveling, but In Brazil, they charges tips separately to where I have multiple charges $1 or less to where my bank flagged it is fraud. I had to confirm with the bank that is not fraud, but Uber decided to say that the credit card is automatically bad. So I contacted Uber support and they told me I need to speak Portuguese (Portuguese is the official language of Brazil, but my Uber account was set up in USA with the USA phone number). Then other reps refused to remove the hold on the card to where I just had to just go full KAREN to finally got somebody who removed the hold. So after that ordeal, if I take Uber, I’ll make sure I have cash at the local currency of the country or I’ll do Bolt. In some countries, Uber has the option of cash payment to the driver. Also, I love the videos of your mother-in-law. She’s wonderful. I also hope to see more of grandfather too.
That is awesome. I’m afraid that’s why this channel has DIY. The things I need are rare. I usually have to do it but I’m not ready to process oil yet. I was buying ghee and olive and my friend brought me avocado oil a year ago. I used all and now I can’t find ghee any more. Now I have to use my good olive oil sparingly which was brought from the US. I can’t find the good one yet. In the meantime, I’m dabbling with Asian (Japanese) and Mediterranean recipes. I already feel lighter and better using these fresh ingredients. Thx for sharing!
Regarding the missing falafel. They are thru best sellers I think. Sometimes in Ghana, there’s an under supply of items. Consistency is not there. One moment you’re buying something. The next month there’s a delay or they no longer sell it but I’ll try making some.
😆😆😆 laughing at you went full Karen. Hilarious! I can’t even image. Sorry to hear that. That had to have been super frustrating. When I went, I remember using only cash. Those holds are problematic. Happened to me here in Ghana. Visa cancelled my entire card. I had to wait almost 2 months for it to get here.
@@DIYHOUSEANDFARM that’s unfortunate about the spinal company. I hope there’s another alternative in Accra. What I like about Japanese food is that it is less greasy and less sweet. Hopefully in Accra, you can find Japanese staples like shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) and Mediterranean staples like extra-virgin olive oil. Also extra-virgin coconut oil is good cooking oil option.

😀This morning, I made home-made Falafel mix for the weekend.
Did you eat all of it!? 🥹 I’m going to have to make some when I get back!
@@DIYHOUSEANDFARM Almost! But I made a big batch of the Falafel mix so I could put half of the uncooked mix in the freezer.
Enjoy yourself friend 🧡 You look amazing 👏 ❤💯
🙏💕
Kibbeh is made from bulgur with minced meat filling. I guess it's a Lebanese snack. I tried it once and love them.
Breaking you fast with style, gwaan !!

Sis, I am over here in Gambia and I am wanting a refreshing salad soo bad. My mouth was watering for some cucks, red onions and kalamata olives.

Stay focus with understanding. Eating that food is good seen me some.
Even a little spice is too spicy in Ghana 😂😂❤.
😆 so true.

E.S., Vim Man is not going to recognize you when you return home. The pounds, the pounds😂😂. Just kidding. Enjoy!❤❤😊😊
Oh my 🤤
Be mindful of sachet water my dear Sis. Can go wrong sometimes.
I’m very aware of those bags. I’ve had my share considered that all I drank in the US was spring and alkaline water. 😌

Could you tell me a little more about your fruit juice fast for 30 days? Your waist has really gotten smaller & you look AMAZING!!!!
FyI - there's tons of "how-to" video on youtube.
Thought that you wanted to minimise oil in your diet? Looks yummy though.
Raw Olive oil is the best oil to use. Im talking about the use of bad seed oils that are used in cooking here.
Yes Mediterranean / ketogenic diet is best. Just veggies and meat and avoid bread and western food
Are you still in Accra?
Yes!
@ okay what other spot did you guys go eat at and will like to meet you guys before I got back to us on Tuesday.
