David Corenswet, the new Superman Actor, was the one who convinced James Gunn to add the trunks back because he believes Superman despite being an OP alien he wants to not be scary looking for the people or even children and the trunks will make him look goofy but at the same time a friendly superhero. Because of that, it sold me. This is the start of DCU so they added the other heroes but won't be much in screentime but just to introduce them but won't pull the focus away to Superman.

I got to play first horn on a recording my orchestra did with John Williams..I went into his office and talked with him..he’s a super, super nice guy! So professional, he doesn’t screw around at all like you think a composer who’s also conducting the session would..we’d read it once, he’d make changes, then record it, then move on..super efficient. This will either cement James Gunn or ruin him. You can’t mess up Superman without consequences..but given there’s Krypto the super dog, it can’t go wrong!
The similarities between Superman and Luffy are... they're both flat characters. It's not a bad thing, it just means they have set moralities and they're not supposed to change them. It's the world around them that changes because of their actions 😊 Also, James Gunn... I adore his story-telling style! I always love his themes about found family (or teams, or crew) in guardians of the galaxy, the suicide squad and peacemaker! More similarities with One Piece about found family!!! I'm so excited for this movie!
Calling Superman flat is really a huge disservice to his character though. If you look at his character on a surface level I can see a casual saying that but if you really read and know about Superman's character FLAT is not the word I'd use to describe his character.

It's more like both Luffy and Superman are very simple on surface level (obviously as a huge fan of those kind of characters!). Anybody who knows both of them will say they indeed have depth in character! (and I will defend them with my life!)... what I was implying about being 'flat' is their unwavering belief and morality. They do not need 'drastic' character development because it's their influence and effect on the world is what's important... and that what makes them lovable!

For me, it was his dog coming to get him that got me emotional…I lost two of my dogs one year apart and had a dream after the second one died and in my dream, that was so real to me, the other one I could see running from a distance straight at me and as she ran by me, she had two wolves, running on both sides of her in support and I saw my little dog that that died recently the opposite direction and she was surrounded by wolves, but I could see that she was mortally injured with flesh hanging off of her… When I woke up I had an understanding that the wolves were circling around her, but they didn’t injure her but were there only for emotional support and my older dog that was her sister that died the year before her was running to get her to take her to another realm.
