✌️☕️🎩 Nomad just gets better & better! I really think it’s gradually becoming a contender for best all around creation software on ANY platform (for me, anyway.) All due respect to Forger…the baton has been passed. (Just give me an extrude function and I can conquer the world.) Thanks for everything, Glen, time for the next course…I’m thinking robots. 🤔
I agree. Stefan is AMAZING and, actually, Nomad is the winner. Looking forward to what Maxon is going to do with Forger ;) p.s. Anyway, on the desktop side, I thing that Blender now is a TREMENDOUS alternative to any other software. Also for sculpting. (Ok, still Brush is the King for sculpting...) Blender is the most incredible thing happened to the 3D Word, in decades :)
Discovered Nomad through you channel, took your course, everything clicked…love it. You mentioned before that Zbrush is your first love…that’s exactly how I feel about Nomad. As Daniel said, you have to bring the imagination, then learn the tools & play around…unleash the monster within. Building AND painting characters on iPad for animation…that’s a pipeline! Mind Blowing. ✌️☕️🎩🎩🎩
That was brilliant! Daniel is a legend and one I enjoy seeing sculpt updates from on the fb page! I started with Forger but eventually switched to Nomad and haven’t looked back. I still need to develop the skills needed to get the most out of it, especially since I bought a resin printer to take advantage of Nomad! Thank you so much for this and I sant wait to see the next vid you make on the subject!
Cheers Andy. Dan is an awesome guy, super supportive and very talented. If anyone wanted an example of how far you can go if you real want it Dan is that example! He’s proving my theory that mobile sculpting is an amazing route into ZBrush and more….
I’m loving Nomad! It was your first comparison video that prompted me to purchase the program. I’m so glad I did! Your beginner sculpting course is a goldmine! I’m having a great time learning to 3D sculpt and Daniel is a huge inspiration! Looking forward to future courses. Thank you for all your hard work producing the training courses and tutorials on RUclips!
Love this new adventure! Stumbled upon it during a Procreate version update video. I find it to be therapeutical and keeps my mind at peace. Looking forward towards my personal growth from the inspiration and motivation of the sculpting community. Its amazing to see what can become of someone when intentionally dedicating the time to learn and practice in just one year. Currently taking the V2 course and doing so as a serious learner. Appreciate the education and most importantly its affordability.
I’d definitely agree that art of any kind of art or creativity is good for the soul. Anyone can do what I can do, as with anything, you get from it, what you put in
Really enjoyed this video! even though I use Nomad on the Samsung Tab S7+! I'm Still getting my head around using Nomad, As my main goto tools is my pencils and hands using clay / fibreglass and silicones! and will hopefully help develop my 3d printing skills for quicker and more precise productions of mechanical masks I make!
we need subD and low poly tools and also UV tools in nomad. And then add texture painting and you can create complete assets for games and cgi within single app on ipad. that would be amazing and nomad would be the best thing ever!
Just discovered you and subbed. Does forger allow for high poly sculpting similar to what you can achieve in nomad? For example millions of polygons where you can add fine details.
Great video. If Daniel needs help sorting out the 3D printing side, I’d be happy to offer thoughts. I’ve used probably 50 different 3D printers for work
Hi Michel. All the courses are listed about halfway down the description if That helps. There’s a lot going on in this video and description so I’m not surprised you missed it.
hi can i saw some videos where you were sculpting in vr, but now you are using a lot of ipad sculpting apps, can i know why you shifted? what did you not find good enough on vr and good on these apps?
Amazing offer, got the beginners and t-rex bundle, a question, I noticed that both the old and updated beginners course are in this bundle, which one should I go for? are there any information in the OG course that is not in the updated version or should I go for the updated version first?
So the updated one is the one you need to focus on. We left the old one there as some people were only half way through it and there is also a lot of bonus stuff that is still relevant. We had to update as the developer moved so much of their interface around and added loads of awesome tools. The old one is essentially a freebie.
It's remarkably enjoyable watching you put Nomad thru its paces and seeing its evolution, in addition to how well it partners with Procreate 5.2. I can't wait for Santa to bring me my M1 iPad Pro! (Of course, he didn't say what *_year_* that would be--!) ;)
I’m only a very new hobbyist, and quickly discovered I’m much better at 3D sculpting than I am at 2D drawing. I don’t see how Forger going to a subscription model could be a good idea while they don’t have some significant gains on the cheap one-off priced Nomad, but maybe it’ll make more sense if/when they bring something bigger and better. I much prefer working on my iPad on the sofa as a hobbyist than getting my computer out and working with a mouse but I’d love to try my hand at animating some of my models. I believe Blender can do this (with imported files from Nomad?)? But I wondered if there’s anything that can do a good job on iPad or if you think there’s the potential for it?
Cheers Dave. Are you using Nomad now? You better hadn’t have paid for anything! All my courses are free for you for life! You are one of the most supportive people I’ve ever known.
It was so nice to see Dan's interview. Great discussion and I agree that Nomad is a great start for anyone new to 3D. My 3D workflow more or less is Nomad> Procreate> Blender. Looking into AR stuff now. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks, Aeron! I definitely see Nomad>zbrush being a very natural workflow for me in the near future, but the possibilities are open for so much cross software hopping, it just gives everyone so many different options to realise their work
@@dantorres1844 I love ZBrush, if I do more professional sculpting work I'll probably get it. I'm excited for all the new possibilities in the 3D space these days. Looking forward to see more of your work!
I am new to 3d modelling and eventually learn zbrush. For now I am thinking of buying Nomad. Hope they don't follow the forger route and switch to a subscription model
I really do hope that Maxon will get on track again. Right now they are in the transition between the old C4D and the implementation of the new core and node system. After that we will see a lot of new features and I hope Forger will play a huge rule in the near future.
Forger fell too far behind early in the race for it to entice me back. I do know a few artists who’ve stayed with it, though, but I think that if it wants to be a serious player then it’s got a lot of work to do to catch up. The subscription model didn’t help either. Ps - thanks for the interview, Glen!
Hello Thank you for helpful tips..I am an intermediate more beginner 3d designer. I use a lot stamps with my own photoshop designed jpg drawings.Kind of obsessed.. As I design everything in Nomad all is fine ••but not with concrete measurements. Bu if I need very sharp measurements I make the 3d design in Fusion 360. I import that stl file to Nomad and want to use my stamp tool. I can’t because my imported file is very low resulotion• How can I manage it leaving the shape the same and use my stamp on it?.. I am sorry if you maybe allready told that matter. Thank You in advance … Merry Christmas
I think Nomad takes it easily. I wish the creator would improve the UI slightly to make some operations more visible. Sculpting on the go/couch is great. I would say that I also use zbrush on the surface pro which buries nomad of course, but the surface pen is no where near as good as iPad pen experience.
Could you do a video diving into Putty 3D? They don’t have any good tutorials explaining the interface and detailed description of the tools and how they interact with the different planes
I find nomad easier and more optimized but both keep getting better and better But what i'm really missing is any sort of lowpoly type program. Shapr3d is great and umake is quite useful too but they are more technical CAD programs the actual geometry is a bit of a mess (plus kinda expensive). gravity sketch is interessting but focuses purely on linedrawing and mental canvas isnt really 3d in a strict sense. Polydust vanished (?) and left a lot to be desired anyway. There is a few programs that utilize 3d but not actually able to edit it. There seems to be a desert in that direction...
In 30 years of digital modeling and sculpting I’ve met or known of about 3 that might be close. He is a phenomenon. We are very lucky.. I imagine Adobe, Autodesk, Pixologic and others are banging on his door to sell!
Definitely. And it's made by one guy! I was using Forger and was okay with it, even though it slacked behind compared to Nomad. But now that they threw it behind a paywall, without showing any updates, I'm going to buy Nomad. Much better anyway
I understand being a fan of the "Aliens" franchise... but why do so many people wear shirts (and get tattoos!!) of the EVIL Wayland-Yutani corporation's logo? They're the bad guys! 😅
Forger or Nomad? The landscape is changing in mobile sculpting so which app is right for you?

No se inglés, al final quién gana?
I have a question
There are now four lights in Nomad.
Nomad has secretly snuck in a fourth light in the lighting panel. I guess that was inspired by procreate.
That one snuck up on me too. More lights really do help build a better scene.
