Leaf and Bjorn did an amazing job. I still feel like Bjorn has a little tiny place in his heart for the Leaf. I think we all do. Once it gets active cooling it will be an incredibly good durable car.
Agree. It is one of the "OG's" of the electric car world. Together with the triplets and the I3 (aside from tesla of course). had one myself (24 kWh). Perfect car, except for winter range on the highway (80-90km at 130 km/h).
Unfortunately I don’t think it will ever get active cooling. Most likely it will eventually be phased out in favor of the ariya. Which will be the Nissan with active cooling
@@mattw6549 the Ariya isn’t real replacement for the Leaf though, as it’s a different category of car. I hope there is a 3rd gen Leaf that fixes the problems of the first two, but I guess even if there isn’t, in a few years there’ll be lots of good alternatives (maybe a second gen ID.3).
@@stevemichael82 well the one good thing about being air-cooled vs liquid cooled is swapping the battery is just a few bolts two or three connectors and it's out and in. With liquid cooling it's much more complex and involves a lot more risk potential if you DIY. Leaf is fairly straightforward and even a girl like me would not be too afraid to try!
It was the right decision to turn around. I live up in the north and you’d always consider the risks before driving on long stretches, or turn around when the gut feeling isn’t good. There’s always another day for adventures.
We drove from Bergen to the North Cape in January this year in an EV, quite the adventure! Thankfully the road to North Cape was open, though it was storm force wind. Finnmark is definetly no picknic in bad weather. Great to see that Ishavsveien have put up chargers all over Finnmark. But I think they have put up too few, as we got to experience Finnmarks first charging queue when we meet Elbilforeningen with their 5 EVs during their winter test.
During WW2 a major sea battle occurred off the North Cape. The German Battleship Scharnhorst was sunk by the Royal Navy. The Norwegian destroyer HNoMS Stord scored a hit on the German ship and overall carried out "out the most daring attack of the whole action".
No off course not. you see how bad this leaf+ is at charging? the battery is cooking because it has no cooling. No more leaf will be made because no body wants battery without cooling and CHademo charging. But you can buy a Nissan Ariya with 87kWh net capacity at the end of the year!
Could you take a trip in the id.3 or id.4, whereabouts you test the cars inbuild navigation to locate charge points on the trip? See if it takes random slow chargers compared to what you would have done yourself.
What are the three temp numbers in LeafSpy? Apparently the top number is the temp of the battery but I’ve no idea what the middle and bottom numbers are for. Can anyone let me know?

We drove from geneva to Scotland 2 years ago with a 30kwh leaf... It was an adventure.

There are more than 500.000 Leafs on the roads. I hope that someday a replacement battery with active cooling is available on the market.

This is why you never should go to North Cape in winter. Blizzard, landslide... Nature will be ruthless. Experience saved the day. Correct decision.

ABS, Bjorn! Always Be Safe! And always enjoy your videos, keep it up!🤓👍🇨🇦
i love watching your video. Not just because i love cars, but also your drive and beautiful Norway. I love Norway :-)
ABC. Always be careful. Keep safe Bjorn
Do what ever you want, you dont have to justify what you want to do to anyone.
The Leaf ABC - Always Be Cooling 😊
Great video. You took the right decision, not worth the risk.
Electric go-carts should be the future of short distance travel, small, cheap, fun, and don't take up much parking space.

Remember Absolutely Bjorn Classic I was the NINE NINE NINE person to thumbs up
Tuesday is delivery day for me ur vidoes helped me choose gun metal gray 62 kw
I will appreciate if you also show how much money time you have spent for this trip. And then to compare with some kia plugin or Toyota hybrid.
Goodbye polar bears. It was nice to coexist with you. We won't forget.
Polar bears aren't in danger of going extinct. They're highly efficient hunting / eating machines. Come to Churchill, MB and see them.
After toilet break:
"Oh man that was great" ... "I'll definitely come back here"
Always Be Cr*pping! :P
dont forget the abc part for that ABC always be crapping
Nine nine nine nine! Love it
Great trip, but why didn't you include some shots of the ferry?
I think that is the first ancient I've seen you drive past in all these years! @26:26
Good decision !
Maybe you saved your live, or at least, your nervous)) with that choice. I like how you decide.
Nice chill Music
I wonder if they will be able to make a 77 kWh net battery for the Leaf like VW has for their ID3 😃👍🏻

With the supercharger at Varangerbotn - maybe a Telsa trip to the Russian border is now a possibility?

Nissan could make the LEAF so much better with relatively small changes.
Did you visit Macks Brewery while in Norkjosbotn??
I miss the animated map with the distances and the consumption for each step.
Those are for the special road trip movies marked with #NN.
Labskaus without Beer? Strange things happen in Norway ..... Even during my Military Duty (Navy) we had 1 Can of Beer with Labskaus.
is it better than zoe and e-208?
999.9 ohhhh shieeeet
yes sleeping in the leaf

Thanks Björn, but:
why always the Leaf? This car is no longer up to date. there are now so many other (new) cars to be tested.
That was the challenge.
Leaf is a great city car
It looks like you took a big bite of congealed fat from the top of that Lapskaus.
"Im so far away from Wifi now" - Probably true.
Glad you bailed out- it wasn't worth the risk
Come for the drive. Stay for the MUKBANG!
And this is exactly why you shouldn't get a Leaf if you travel big miles.....
All those gut problems, sure you're not gluten intolerent? Try some fermented foods like fresh sauerkraut & kefir.
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIIIIN!!!:D

2.000 km = then 179,70 until 230,14 euro for fuel.
