Leaf 2019 40 kW; I have sensor for the low fluid . strange that you dont have it. but you are right about the 40kW not made for long trip. overheating too fast and not cooling down is very slow. but perfect for city and work.
Perhaps lower battery temp is due to the slightly faster hotel charging. This ment that the charging stopped earlier giving the battery more time to cool.
I would put up with a lot to have the E-Pedal, one-pedal driving on the leaf is a game-changer. My next car might be the ID4, but if the one-pedal driving is not great I might buy another leaf.
If you still have the Leaf maybe you can do the new acceleration test (90%, 80% down to 10%) to see how a car without active thermal battery management performs.
My washer fluid tank on my Volvos is over 4 liters.. I can usually fill up full US Gallon then add another 1/4 of bottle.. so like 5 liters. The manual says 1US Gallon tank so I guess the fill tube can store an additional liter.
Now that the Leaf is 10 years old Nissan have the opportunity to enlarge the market of affordable EVs. The car is still comfortable enough, development costs must have been amortized over the last 10 years. Fix the Achilles heel by using a thermally managed battery pack, drop the price to be competitive and there would be appeal to the market for people wanting an affordable EV..maybe boring corolla like EV compared to Tesla but lots of people happy with corollas.
Well, Bjørn just drove 1550 km without any problems other than a slight irritation when he studies Leaf Spy. If you forget Leaf Spy and just use it as a normal car, which obviously isn't to drive 1550 km all the time, the Leaf do just fine in the 62 kWh version. The Leaf is the wrong car for warm countries or areas IF you plan to use it for long drives with more than one fast charge. So the Achilles is just fine and there is no limping.
I always wonder how the Ioniq FL would hold up against the Leaf e+ in those conditions (bit cold, raining a lot) but slowish driving. The Leaf seems to be able to reach 250-280km - how much kilometers would the new Ioniq FL reach as it is way more efficient? Yes I know there are several videos about efficiency, but I'm interessted in the conditions the Leaf e+ had.
1:58: the temperatures in the app is most likely min, max and average temperatures of all the sensors. Highly unlikely that the leaf only have 3 temp sensors.. My car has 60 temp sensors in the battery..
02:05 One small note here. You say "Heat goes up". That's true in a fluid (air or liquid) (because density goes down as temperature goes up). But here, as baterries are enclosed, heat is dissipated to the cabin by conduction over the metal frame of the car. Heat Conduction is not affected by gravity. Same result, different explanation. Going back to the video, which will be great as always (the thai food truck story is already great in itself)! The way you drive if perfect, because it directly shut up all the naggers that tell you "Yeah I'm a tough guy, I never stop during a trip, only for gas, and it's 5mn in, 5mn out, your demonstration doesn't apply to me... blablabla" Keep up the good work!
@@gyongyossypeter4485 Yeah, but still. Even if there is very little heat dissipation, it's not going "up" by convection, it's going wherever it can, by conduction.
It depends on temperature, your driving style and skills, the topographic, weather and wind. Your guessometer would maybe say something like approximately 310 to 330 km? As with all EVs you have to learn how the car reacts to the conditions you drive under.
@@ritz5606 I have seen someone do this on RUclips from Canada and get 440 Km. It is mixed driving. I drove from Karlshamn to Malmö in the summer with a 40 KWH and got 12.7 KW/100 Km. It all depends on how you drive. I drive like an old man.

No, you need the dongle on the service port. no other way.
