I sat in one. Gonna say it felt very very good, it looks and haptics are amazing and price is still ok for what you get. Love the side profile of the car
I do want to see the Denza. Saw one on the road today in Hong Kong. Looks a lot like an Alphard. There is a hybrid in China, but the only one in Thailand is the full electric because of the import duties on anything with an engine.
While I like the Emeya, at its' price point, I don't know if I'll risk getting it. If I need service, where would I go to get it fixed, the closest one is 200 miles away at a tiny shared Jag/Bentley/Range Rover/Lotus dealer which don't give me a lot of confidence in their service.
Every electric car tested today: it's got some very big wheels that hurt range. It's also got a glass roof that has zero thermal insulation so you need to use more AC, hurting range further ... can we all agree that glass roofs are plain stupid ?
AC/heating doesn't really use *that* much energy in modern EVs. Modern heat pumps are very efficient. Completely agree with the wheels though, that's definitely not helping efficiency.
Its also pain stupid that most EVs have retractable door handles. Big safety issue in my eyes in an fire or crash event. I remember journalist complain about Opel using all over their models , folding door handle where as most competitors implement bar door handle. Nower days who care what was Said and evaluated 20 years ago I hope OEMs concentrate on the core values and don’t copy Tesla in every way just do be on the Safe Side not to do something wrong
Nice looking car, interior looks good although still Chinese UI glitches, etc… but that efficiency is so poor!! At that temperature and speeds, it should be so much less. Disappointing really (many places you can’t get 350kw chargers yet or not too many). Will really be interesting to 1000km challenge in Norway/Sweden. Note: must be so frustrating to drive in Thailand… 😮
It did charge the best in a big test in Norway recently. Besides this cars selling point isnt about being efficient. Alot of other factors when choosing a car.
@@UgglemannenFTW true. But efficiency can be worked and especially in sports cars, as if more efficient? Could have done with maybe 10-20kwh smaller battery, less weight, more sporty, etc… so it depends how you look at it 😉

Not really sure this car follows Lotus' ethos of simplify and add lightness. Probably why actual Lotus in the UK had barely any involvement in them. But then why call it a Lotus in that case?

I like how you are showcasing Thailand from a road perspective too in these video's. I takes me back.
Amazing dedication to your vids and data on EVs Bjørn!

Hey Bjorn your artist playlist link is broken. Just an FYI. Thanks for all the great videos including this one.
Cars onboard chargers are better than the public chargers we get
Schönes Auto 😜
The fun fact is that the first Teslas were Lotus Elise bodys...
Please dont skip range test. You can only do the 120 as part of another video if you dont get many views but please dont skip it fully
I've heard in a video, Lotus said it would be permanent AWD, it could explain the consumption too ...
When will you review the Kia EV3?
Not in thailand yet

In Thailand - yes. And this is winter, so the AC isn't really turned up that far.

No it seems LEDs should have voltage converted to low DC. Unless just done cheaply with spikes and drops should be constant output.
No screen in a vehicle should have PWM backlight control. They should have flicker-free listed as a feature just like in displays.
It adds color to the world of EVs. Blinker chime sounds like Hyundai.
That's why Jaguar said "create exuberant" and "live vivid"
@mertcalc3259 Jaguar? RIP.

Even the most luxury cars can't stop touchscreens getting covered in fingerprints.
You can put an anti glare film on it.

Actually Emeya is cheaper in Sweden than in Thailand.
Almighty Bjørn, how long will you stay in asia?
Going back in 1 week
Pity we'll never see the car here in the US due to stupid tariffs/bans.
Why is Lotus in Thailand? is it asian made?
Yes. It is made in China. Lotus is part of Geely Group.

I always cringe a little on „…uncompressed WAV file…“ Flash memory obviously just became too cheap 😂
