What gets under their skin is the voice of authority telling them things they dont want to be true.
They think it is a form of political bias to report the truth and not lie and appease conservative viewers.
That's what some Americans detest in the news media.
Usually it is conservative commentators that can come across as arrogant and condescending. Liberals tend to have a more open mind. Having an open mind usually means one has far more humility and acceptance of others and their ideas and opinions leading one to not be arrogant.
Think how rich you would be if you bet a nickel every time cnn and msnbc were wrong.

In all fairness, they had every reason to be confident in their predictions. They had the older voter demographic in the bag. The likely voters. They didn't know 18 - 29 year Olds were going to come out of nowhere with logic, decency, and common sense.

Being independent means just that. I use my best judgement to favor legislation that I agree with. I don’t use emotion or love of the country and all other subjective things to join a tribe and stick with them no matter what. I’m not afraid of Mexican immigrants. Here in Texas our Tex Mex is great and they are a great hard working people. My overall philosophy is get government out of my business. I’m pro-choice because only a woman knows her situation, not Uncle Sam. I am for legal weed. As someone who plays golf, i love clear skies and clear water. I workout everyday and believe in a clean diet. I could go on but you know…

I made the mistake of thinking they’d at least be reasonable… no polling ever gave Republicans 240 in the House and 54 in the Senate. House predictions were about dead on (around 225 iirc) and Senate being split 50-50. Truly they’re living in a parallel universe
Eh... I don't remember seeing any polling that was even close to the results. CNN and MSNBC were predicting a wave. The only people I saw get it even close to right were smart enough to recognize that young people were motivated and not being accurately picked up by the polling (young people don't answer the phone) and that women were under-sampled because of the rate at which they were registering.

@@brianpraul9758 don’t forget the whole partisan pollsters thing too. I believe it was 538 themselves (or someone else) that stated the nonpartisan high-quality polls were about right.
