two points if you are making this into a science project: 1) instead of doing the whole room, you could just do a fort under a table or something... 2) you don't need a microphone that accidentally works as a radio, you could just use an actual radio...

Could be because the membrane of the mic is magnetic and gets moved by the magnetic field component of the radio waves. Something along those lines. Doesn't explain why this seems to be kind of rare tho. Could be that magnetic membranes are rare or well shielded or something else in other mics.
yooooo. this is a very cheap mic so if it does use a poorly insulated magnetic membrane it’d make sense that electro magnetic waves could result in interference! also i learned that the sears tower and hancock building broadcast radio frequencies and they’re both less than a mile from me so i’d guess i’m getting very strong signals here

I think your assumption of a hypothesis is correct actually, the mic serves as some sort of communication device due to its molecular structure and wiring the two metals serve as an iron point, creating a mini statical radio tower, able to transmit radio waves through that tiny mic of yours, thus receiving your overall issue. Cough, Music.
