      Thats the idea i work in sterile, manufacturing the pharmaceutical injectable drugs, and we have to sanitize our rooms daily sometimes as many as 6 times a day

      I could be wrong but I believe not all biologic medicines are made with hamster cells, sometimes it's other mammals, and I believe Humira actually is made with human cells and no animals, hence the name "HUMira". I think this apparently might lower the chance of allergic reactions. Don't quote me on that though.

      @@Polite_Cat It is also made in CHO cells. The medicine doesn’t retain any part of the animal, they are just really good at making proteins.

      It has to be sterile. This stuff is ingested and has to serve its purpose. Don't want nasty cellular contamination that might complicate treatments.

      They left out the 6 other stages that are known as down stream production. It's mainly filtering out impurities and sanitizing for human use. The process would probably take an hour or more to explain

      It doesn't work like that. That's what they exaggerate on 3d rendering, in reality they use microscopes to play around with a cell and multiply it. They do not know if it works or not. They test on people.

      Not the hamster cells but the protein end result which they were designed to synthesis in their cells.
      Even human insulin is mass produced in similar fashion. But understand that human insulin isn't antigenic to us. Pork or bovine insulin was and hence it was phased out as we learned to make the safer form of insulin.

      @@C1schecter101 Science is a lot more complex that what you're making it seem like in your head. Understand clearly first rather than making erroneous judgements about anything which involves highly advanced science. Be it biologics or electronics.

      For that 'dry ingredients" part, mostly Sodium hydroxide and even that will be use for cleaning and conditioning.

      Im a compounding technician and usually its a buffer solution and other chemicals, used for titration and getting the pH level, correct as well as WFI, which stands for water for injection and API or active pharmaceutical ingredient as well as possibly a preservative of some kind.

      It really depends, most common is bacteria because they're really cheap, fast and easy to grow (don't need growth factors), but they can struggle to adequately produce large/complex proteins. Yeast are generally similar, lower yields but better able to produce human proteins because they're eukaryotes too, but not perfect. Depending on the drug and conditions it could be something else (like in this video, where they use ovarian hamster cells). Some processes use immortalized human cells (HEK cells are what I'm familiar with if you'd like to google it), which are harder to work with, and potentially be contaminated with human viruses, but are the best for producing complex molecules and have the lowest allergy risk.
