I pulled the trigger on buying one of these after much consideration and let me tell ya I absolutely love it. I know the price is what will most likely drive people away from this gun but you get what you pay for and it’s a small gun that produces grand results.
I have the ani r150 and my boss got the dv1s I used it today and thought it was amazing but the r150 still gets the job done at a fraction of the price
Nice review Gunny, you may know that I won a DV1S in a competition and I was one of the first (private customer) in the UK to have one and have to say that I love it but at the price I wouldn't spend my own cash on it. You didn't mention if you think it's better than the SRI ProLite so it would be nice to hear your opinion but IMO it does spray better than the SRI and has a better and bigger fan pattern. Thanks for your kind words on my detailing and ceramic coating job on my Merc SLK Gunny, the car is now 18 years old and I've had it 6 years, apart from the wheels it's pretty much in mint condition. I'm not getting any younger so found the complete job hard going but I'm hoping it will make the job of looking after easier in the future. John UK
I just painted some knife blades while they were hanging from a close hanger and i used sata jet 4400 b and at 33 psi it was moving the blade a lot it was like hitting a mobing target
I purchased the r150's then r160's so now have 5 mini guns which I think is enough. Just had the air cap seals go on the r150 purchased a p pack from sprayguns direct all good again now. Good video though Gunny
I just layed down my first basecoat with this gun and about to shoot my clear with it now. I got mine for $365 USD. I only have a FLG 4 full size gun and lety me tell you, putting base down w this was AMAZING! Its got and amazing fan and it lets me pile it own! Now I am about to see about the clear. I got the 1.2 and the HVLP plus cap

Thanks for another spray gun review. I got a black DV-1 demo gun a while back, but never even used it. I dunno, TE-10 in one prolite, TE-20 on another with 1.3's... and I leave another 1.4 TE10 prolite on the side for 2k direct gloss. Don't know if I'll ever change. The Sri pro lite treats me well too.
These days the way I see it, if you are capable of doing the work yourself, buy the best quality tools, even if you may not really want to pay for them. As long as it won't cause you real hardship. You'll get the best result possible, they'll usually pay for themselves after only one job [maybe not SnapOn :)] and will most likely last more than your lifetime if cared for properly. For spray guns the difference [other than SATA] is only a few hundred dollars anyway
Hi Gunny! First, i want to thank you for the best free videos, that you can get from internet, absolutely! I have follow you for years, and in some comment i did thank you for leaded me in the best hobby ever! I have learned to spray. well, moderately "well". Lol. I have watch your videos so many times, and been listen what you had to say.. One thing getting in my mind, when you post "Top ten" or those compare videos, if you put those guns side by side, and think what price/ value they have, could you tell, which guns are best, no matter what price they have..? Just mention..? For examble "Top 8 mini guns", Sata 4400, obviously is better gun than winner, ANI r150.. I hope you can reed my English, lol..!
I think it’s a lovely little mini gun, the s1 cap was my cap of choice, good size fan as well, probably one of the most comfortable sprayguns I have held in my hand ✋🏻, it is quite expensive I will add , almost a few bucks away from a Dv1 base on eBay. But comparing this gun to an Sri I prefer the Dv1s. Sri just feels too heavy in comparison and not quite as comfortable. Either way appreciate your opinion cheers 🍻
Hi Gunny! Which one you think is better for someone who does not have big air compressors? I only have 2hp with 88ltrs of tank. My air compressor can sustain the SRi prolite. Do you think my air compressor can handle this hvlp dv1s? What is your opinion in regards to spraying clears, sri vs dv1s? does the difference huge?
If this was a sata you would have killed it for the price point Not a sata fan btw could you compare this to the 4400 there similar but sata is slightly cheaper
lph101 is a true small gun , very good for mirror caps , tow hook covers and gas tank covers . this beast is a more of a midi gun . can literally do EVERYTHING.
Hi I love watching your videos! Just need some advice mate,I'm relatively new to spraying and bought a devillbiss gti hd gun recently, it says 12 bar on handle of gun, does that mean I have to use 12 bar compressor or is it just to say that 12 bar is the maximum compressor I can use with gun, currently I'm using a 50 ltr, 8 bar compressor, any advice much appreciated mate Thanks
I generally run it at 29psi, but the volume it uses of more important if you have a small compressor. Check the CFM or LPM on DeVilbiss website, then cross-reference with your compressor to see if your compressor will run it.
I think devilbiss finally learned that rubber and plastic air distribution rings or any gun parts are NOT a way to go as every part of this gun is solid . no cheap plastic that kept breaking on me on my older devilbiss and all satas .
your filming looks blurred is it clear coated over spay I use isopropyl alcohol USP 99% from the drug store to clean my safety prescription safety glasses it does not damage them at all, try that on your lenses you will be imprest, I'm a painter
