Back when MARTA was worth riding and working for; The 80’s, before I was born 😔 Love the old buses here. I never got to ride any of them. Looks like MARTA had a ton of GMC/GMDD New Looks, Grummans, and Neoplans. Wish some were at the transit museum (a New Look and a Grumman/Flxible are). Thank you for sharing this.
Those drivers in the parking lot are from Cleveland RTA, they bought 50 buses from Atlanta in 1981 some of the 800 series buses and drove them to Cleveland.
Man how you recover these vintage clips ??? Awesome ! I heard rumor Seattle turned down federal funding for rapid transit but Atlanta took the money and MARTA was born and still on the move .....
This is just good stuff!!!
Damn this brings back memories of my childhood.

They got 54 of them. They were leased and then purchased outright by Cleveland. The last of them ran into 1992, by then they were nearly 30 years old.

Even though Marta doesn't go everywhere, it's still the best thing to happen to Atlanta.
This may be the only 1978 First Generation "AN series" Neoplan footage known to Man!!❤❤❤😮😮😮 I think one was in a movie or two and owned by hollywood.
Is that the Gillig phantom bus from the beginning?
Nope that was one of our 1981 Neoplan N416A units from back in the day. They were LOUD, THROATY and FAST and my favorite MARTA buses ever 🤩😎
@8v71buses looking at the weird steering wheel it looked like they had the Ferrari horse symbol on the horn cover
I like Neoplan
