Good point on the 50 yard group but the 2" 200 yard would be definitely worth it

400> 350 for better blood trail. CRITICAL in southern Woods!

There is no basis for that at all. See ruclips.net/video/CJa6tE3ywm0/видео.html .

Good luck with that. Shot a doe at 75 yards, broadside no pass through and horrible blood trail. Hit another at 40 yards Broadside no pass through. The 350 penetrates way better than the 400. Hopefully some new ammo options will help this turd of a gun

No practical advantage? Why settle for the 350 legend when for only a few lbs of recoil you can get 20-30% more mv/energy. I've been using the 350 legend and will be upgrading to the 400 this year.

You cannot kill a deer much past dead.

@@RandyWakeman You're right. Some calibers get deer there faster though.

Awesome review and thanks for bringing up the point about the 30-30. I would bet they got paid to create the straight wall cartridge designations and are paid to keep it that way. A lot of corporate/government money in it.
I think these straight wall ar15 cartridges that headspace off the case mouth are downright dangerous. If the mouth is crimped too much, it could possibly enter the rifling and get pinched causing a massive grenade style pressure spike. I'm pretty sure i had that happen years ago on a 45 acp case... 20,000 psi didn't do anything but wreck the mag follower and scratch my forearm up... 50,000 psi or whatever those rifle cartridges are is going to be a different story.

The problem, at the moment, with the 400 Legend is that only two hunting loads are available-- and only one has any published ballistics. Whatever your rifle is, if it doesn't like one of those two loads, you are out of luck. The 350 Legend has well over 20 loads readily available.
