The trigger is not a conventional design. The AB3 uses a separate trigger sear and a nylon polymer fulcrum that the user pulls to trip the trigger sear forward and away from the main sear. One piano wire is used on the fulcrum to adjust pull weight as well as overtravel.
There's so little information on the 'net regarding Browning's AB3...its high time now that someone (you or I) produced a more in-depth production revealing the secrets that make the AB3 probably the very best bolt action design to date. In fact, the AB3 brings to the bolt action a level of excellence not seen since the 98 mauser.
Browning's A-Bolt 3 is without question the best "budget" rifle available. I've had a .30-06 since they were first introduced and it's been great. The Winchester XPR is a very close second, also designed and made by Browning. There's no need for anyone to waste their money on junk from Remington or Ruger with the AB3 & XPR being available.
PaLEOjd i own an x bolt and love it. I truly love browning but between the xpr and ab3 i would choose the xpr because of the adjustable metal trigger where as the ab3 is plastic and non adjustable
BDC recticles are set up for specific calibers and bullet weights, how is a BDC (bullet drop compensation) helpful for a .243? They are usually set up for .223, .308 and .300WM.
The xbolt...the ab3 is not even in the same class as xbolt...browning did a horrible job with the ab3.. very cheap...a complete embarrassment to the quality rifle the abolt and abolt 2 is...my main 2 rifles and always have been are my abolt 2 ..in 25-06 and 308 stainless
@@codytaylor2194 It is intended to compete as an entry level rifle not a competitor to high end rifles, for the price it is by all the reviews I've read it performs quite well. I have a Remington model 788 chambered in 243 that I paid $75.00 in 1974, and it is a tack driver all day long, don't knock inexpensive rifles.
the rifle shoots one moa or better with the right ammo in it. as far as the bedding of the rifle most rifles are not bedded and should not causes any problems long term or other wise.

Looks like your bolt is very smoothly a lot of people say that it's not on the ab3

how accurate is this bad boy?also if it is not pillar bedded any real issues coming from that or is it going to be fine for long term use?

AB3 in not A-Bolt 3. Browning doesn't even call that an A-Bolt.
The ab3 is a embarrassment to the old abolt and abolt 2 as far as I'm concerned
