    Man I love your plain Jane, down to earth, no BS talk son! It's a pity this model isn't being made anymore. I own an A Bolt 11 Stainless Stalker in .308, .300WSM and .338 Win Mag. All have had a trigger job on them and shoot into MOA. Nice to hear that you are a hunter and not just a shooter and use as much meat as you can. Thanks for sharing.

    I am a lefty. I ordered a Browning A Bolt 7mm WSM a few years ago. I have nothing to complain about. I would not be afraid to shoot at deer 400 yards. My longest kill is 300 yds. Browning does it right on rifles.

      Yea the Silver Tips get the job done very well. I have always been interested in the .270 WSM. I haven't ever learned to much about that round. I believe I will do some research into that cartridge to see what its all about. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    My cousin told me he would never buy a browning because they are and I quote "made in Japan". Those Browning A-bolts and X-bolts are fantastic rifles, built in a fantastic factory in Miroku. Can't go wrong with a Browning. I have two BPS shotguns and they are the two most solid pump guns that I've ever handled.

    Thats a late 80's early 90's A-Bolt 1. I bought one back in 92 at Castle Sports in Caldwell county N.C. in 7mmRem Mag. 26" barrel, 1/2 " to 3/4" moa @100 yards. Best rifle I ever owned. Had to sell her for grocery money. Would love to find another one. I dont like the a bolt 2's. You can dial that trigger down to around 2 lbs. There is a little adjustment screw.

    There's so little information on the 'net regarding Browning's ABolt-3...its high time now that I produced a more in-depth production revealing the secrets that make the third generation of ABolt probably the very best bolt action design to date. In fact, the AB3 brings to the bolt action a level of excellence not seen since the 98 mauser.

      The A-bolt 3 is the cheapie version. The A-bolt 1 and A-bolt 2 are better rifles. And the X-bolt is considered to be better than any of the A-bolts, although the bolt doesn't move as smoothly as the A-bolt 2 because they got rid of the bolt sleeve.

    Browning makes a fantastic rifle in the A-bolt II. I own waay too many rifles in most of the popular manufacturers, Remmys, Ruger's and Wins. I also have a few full custom rigs that cost 5 times the cost of the Browning. Accuracy is exceptional for a factory gun and rivals that of my custom rifles with a little tinkering around with my hand loads. So I bought the A-bolt II, Medallion, 26" barrel in 270WSM. I bought a second A-bolt II, Medallion, 26" barrel 20 minutes after i returned from a range session with the first one! Both shoot remarkably well. Fit and finish is excellent on the Brownings and the barrel blueing is better than either Rem or Win. They are a little "$pendier" than the cost of a model 70 or 700, but I think the Browning a better value-more for your dollar. I have bought numerous inexpensive (relatively, so) rifles, re-stocked them into something modern, pillared, bedded, re triggered and re cut the crowns on all of them. In the end, they do not shoot better than my Brownings and the finished reworked cheap rifles were more expensive than simply buying a better quality rifle in the first place. Lesson learned. I now own 4 Browning rifles; my only complaint is that these particular guns come stocked, bedded and free floated in a nice walnut wood stock. I am too hard on my hunting guns to take a nicely, wooden stocked gun into most of the areas I hunt and synthetic stocks are hard to find for Brownings in A-bolt II's.
    You will be glad you spent a little extra and bought the Browning

    Love Browning rifles. Nice looking rifle that is in a great caliber. I've killed more deer with a .270 than I have any other. It's got a stock and finish that doesn't need to be handled with kid skin gloves.

    I've noticed that there's two separate bolt designs on the A-Bolt rifles, there's the one you have and then another one that appears to just be triangular and flat sided as opposed to the rounded with the cut-outs on running along the length of the bolt. Not sure which one came first or if there's a difference n quality, but i like the one you've got. Nice rifle!!

      @@codytaylor2194 Hey bud thanks for your comment, really appreciate it. I found a stainless with the grooved bolt design, I'm thinking that's a purchase right there. the one in the video is the same design, it's very similar to the Browning BBR if you've seen that gun before you will see what I mean or shut google it. Happy Hunting!!

    I bought a used A Bolt in .300 win mag a while ago. I'm not sure if the previous owner did a trigger job. But my trigger breaks with absolutely no creep. You touch it, maybe 3-4 pound force, and it breaks then and there.

    I've got a Leupold VX2 on a 86 Hunter model and it has been bringing in deer since I bought it used in 97. In case you want to be nice and work on that trigger; MCarbo has a great video showing you how to change the trigger spring tension and if you want to spend less than $20 you can reduce that pull by 1.5 or two pounds probably. I had a 93 Medallion with 4.5 that now has a 2 pound trigger pull and my Hunter went from 3.5 to 2 pounds now (oddly increased from 1.75 which might have to do with me not doing loc tite on that adjustment I told you about.

    but those bullets suck my uncle shot the ballistic tips last year with a browning abolt just like that but 30-06 and a big ol buck come in to the corn and the rifle was set right and he is a crack shot and the first bullet went off and missed the deer steal stood he shot again and hit him in the gut the deer layed down and we tryed to finish him but it wouldn't hit right and pushed the deer we never found him when he got home we all went to the farm to try to figure out what wrong the rifle shot perfect with the origanal extreme tip winchester bullets but the ballistic tips were shooting one place and then the other and then we took about half of the box of bullets and noticed we could pull the hole bullet out of the casing .

  • @John.Doe42069
    @John.Doe42069 9 лет назад +2

    funny you call this rifle high end. in Germany this is one of the cheapest you can get. An average new rifle with a decent scope will cost you about 3k.

    • @jb678901
      @jb678901 9 лет назад +2

      +IwannaBEamerican Yes, weapons are considerably more expensive in Europe and European brands, in particular, are often in the 2.5K to 4K range. That being said, in terms of quality, design and accuracy...I would take a Remington 700, Ruger M77, Win 70 and/or Browning BBR/A-Bolt...if it had a proper bedding and trigger adjustment. Even with after market professional tuning, these weapons can also deliver sub-MOA performance at much better bang for the buck.
      IMHO, Europe prices it arms for the so-called "gentry" while in the USA...they are priced for the middle class.

      @IMAXXHEW 7 лет назад +6

      You comment about how it's funny that the A bolt is considered high end here in the States... then you go and tell us how in Germany they are cheap compared to "An average new rifle with a decent scope ". To answer your question about what my point here is... it doesn't matter what a firearm costs, or your opinion of them. Germany and their weaponry got fuckin' rekt by guns designed by John Moses Browning. Funny huh.
