I here you matthew im not a veteran but i am a lonely rabbit hunter everybody is either moved away or passed away and the younger generation says its to much work hunting with hounds i am not quiting though love it to much just cut down on dogs
I hope that you don't buy meat at the grocery store. Even if all you buy is organic produce to eat,you don't get a pass on not killing animals for food. Organic farms cannot use chemicals to deter rabbits.squirrels,deer & other herbivores from eating the crops that they would otherwise sell to you or they'd lose their USDA organic farm status. So,they love to have hunters trim down those animals during the legal seasons or they'll use special licenses from their specific state to allow hunting & trapping outside of those designated seasons just so they'll have more produce for those who want organic food.
Hunting rabbits was one of the greatest experiences of my life. My uncle used a beagle, hound , and a greyhound.

I used to hunt hare while I was a kid.Never rabbits...But it looks tempting.
