I appreciate the fact that you didn’t just discuss the food, but also the unique culture and sense of community in itaewon. I hope the government changes their mind about destroying such a vibrant community
Tina's vlogs are incredible. Not only the production and editing, but the subject matter is so informative and interesting, and the kindness she does for these small restaurants by giving them the credit they deserve. I'm engrossed every time.
I just appreciate your story telling skill which highlights your pride as Korean. I watched the Kdrama Itaewon and you just elevated what someone like me picks up from Korean shows we follow not that we/I take all of it as real but showcasing Korea gives us what’s behind those shows and the Real Korea. ❤ . You are very talented.
Oh my god, that neck-breaking twist in attitude from that guy bluntly telling you to move your purse to “OH MY GOD DOOBY!” Pretty satisfying. And you were so nice to him afterwards… I would have been a dick! Y’all, use your manners with everyone, you never know when Dooby will show up right next to you.
I actually think it was his korean friend who said that.

In Mexico, we have a very similar dish to the battered, stuffed, and fried gochu, but it's a larger pepper (we call it "Poblano" pepper), and the dish's name is Chille Relleno. Can be stuffed with fresh cheese, beans, and some stews like "picadillo" or Basque-Style Tuna. For serving, the pepper is bathed in savory tomato sauce and normally sided with refried beans. It's super homey and comforting!
the editing is so so good in this video. The cuts are seamless. Thank you for not using annoying sound effects, exagerrated expressions, and overall click-bait terms in your video. I love this video!
I love how it seems so natural for her to introduce some of the best places to eat in 이태원 to us. It's literally like a quick tour with one of the local people. I look forward to visiting some of those places to have the recommended menu thinking about her description of food.
Currently watching you from Marrakech, Morocco. I used to live in Kyunglidan and this just took me on a memory ride. Glad to see Dave (can you move your bag guy) is still living around! Also, Moroccan tea is green tea and mint. And Casablanca has one if not the best Moroccan sandwich even in Morocco. Oh and friend chicken! And the butcher in front of it! I miss those people! And the ladies at the supermarket a little further down… Hope everyone is ok!
gurl, you didn’t even talk about those big beautiful pots you were standing in front of. still, THIS vid needs to win an award of some kind. INCREDIBLE documentation and storytelling about of a neighbourhood whose significance you amplify in many important ways.
By far the best content creator about life in Seoul. Tina, you do an awesome job of introducing the world to unique and authentic places. Love your vids! Thank you you!!❤
These are so special. I honestly feel like they are good enough to be on TV. She’s filled with knowledge, entertaining to watch & listen to and the editing it just 🤌🏼!
Hey Tina if you’re reading this message I am a 12 year old kid. I love to cook and bake and I want to share it with the world someday. You are what a want to be. You are the biggest inspirations to me. Every day I sit down and look on RUclips and you’re videos are what I mostly watch. Thanks so much for making my day to day life exciting!
I miss your og cooking videos 🥹 would love to see more of them. I can’t imagine how busy the restaurant is but would love to see you back to the beginning ❤
i love watching tina's vlog, it shows the rawness(?) of the daily life of koreans, like seeing an ahjumma squatting next to the store, an ahjumma holahooping and many more
Girl, you talked about Morocco and my heart skipped a beat! Very very happy that you liked our food and very proud that Moroccans represent us well in SK! I hope you could give some moroccan traditional dishes a go as well :)
tbh i'm wondering what's moroccan about the sandwich she ate ..the baguette is frensh ..the omelette is not from moroccan cuisine ..the harissa is Tunisian ..the mayo is also not moroccan ..i expected her to eat smth really moroccan
@@zainebhidoussi1498 Well, the tea was the most Moroccan, but she thought it was black tea, and I took that too personally lol But all of the other items are common in Moroccan street food. Morocco has influences from other cultures, like many other countries. Although harissa is very common in the Maghreb, so agree to disagree about the Tunisian origin. Though I know it's very popular there. But why that sandwich was called a Berber sandwich makes zero sense to me. Other then marketing lol
I love how now (well, not that now but still) youtube videos are like tv documentaries, I mean great and professional shots, well structured, plus it's not just her walking and eating, it has lots of information and history, her revies on the food, etc and that just takes this to a whole another level
Ur "death stare" was so hilarious when the guy at the end of the video asked u "can u move ur bag!?".....and as soon as he realized who u r, ur sarcastic enthusiasm ( i presume) was sooooo funny~! always looking forward to ur vlog, and u r a badass, u do u & keep being u~!!🤣🤣🥰🥰
All about this episode is sentimental because it reminds me of my favourite small local restaurants from hometown, I mean this kind of hometowns and neighbourhood memories almost everyone hold onto endearly. Not like franchise and big famous restaurants but they always give familiar vibes and homey kind of warm feeling.
The reason to enjoy a light roast would be to taste the range of flavors that exist in the natural coffee bean. Most of those flavors are stripped when it's a dark roast. Used to be an only dark roast fan but I've learned that medium and light roasts boast an amazing range of flavors that are unique to the particular origin of the coffee beans. Worth keeping an open mind to that if you enjoy coffee in my opinion.
I lived in Korea from 2014 - 2016 and still have dreams about Casablanca. I'm soooo happy to see that it's still doing well, and really hope I get to eat there again some day. It makes me so happy to see you here, Dooby.
Hi Tina. I am one of my Muslim followers from Malaysia. Your hearty content is such a wholesome and thank you for indicating bits & pieces about islamic community/food in your featured video today. I appreciate it so much and would love to see more halal/muslim-friendly delicacies in Korea. It would be very helpful for us to travel there anytime soon. Forever doobies here ❤❤
This really an amazing Channel, I follow so many food and "travel vloggers" but you have something very unique and interesting! I have never imagined to see a mosque in Korea let alone a Muslim community or refugees! So thank you for the tour and the information!
Last month, I went to mija seoul from Japan. At the time, I didn't walk around Itaewon, thinking it was a town full of things that go in and out of fashion at a very fast pace...Your video has shown me that I knew nothing about it. I have to go back before they are gone. And it is a special experience for reliving a someone's memorable dish. Thank you, Tina, for sharing your memories of the food. Now I have a reason to visit Seoul again. I always enjoy your quality content❤️
Gurl! I feel you on the first restaurant you went to with the cold acorn soup. I started going to a place called Kimchi house with my childhood best friend and her family. They were Korean and would take us at least once a month. They worked a ton, so when they both had a day off, we would go and eat for HOURS and hangout. I almost never saw anyone that wasn’t Korean in there, and all the banchan was self serve. The ladies that ran the business have multiple gardens around the tiny building, and would sometimes make my friend and I tend to the garden before we could grab food. I ate there yesterday and found out that they are closing down in a month. It’s so sad, but I’m glad they will have more time for family now. It’s another legendary community staple that has to close down for some high rise and chain stores.
We have a very similar dish here in the Philippines Tina! We called it dynamite, it's a green chili stuff with ground pork and spices but the main ingredient is cheese and we also cover it with thin spring roll wrapper instead of batter🍴🤗
hey tina!! glad to see you!!. you have always made my day, i always watch you when i dont feel good and you make me happy again!!! this time i got a bacterial infection in my throat and a really high fever, but you made my dayy!!! thank you soo much!! its currently 3:17 am now, i wasnt able to sleep at al and felt really bad, my whole body hurts :) i love you!!
I think a visit Itaewon would be one of my bucket list items if I go to Korea. Have heard it's a great place full of restaurants, bars, and other attractions. Also how you can see as many foreigners as you would see Koreans. Have heard it called "the Melting Pot of Seoul." Hope to go one day
I absolutely love the casual cozy drinking culture of korea because it is very similar to ours where you eat, drink & chat rather than going out, partying & getting drunk.
This is one your best vlogs to date!!! I love how you educated us about the diverse culture and the community in Itaewon. I didn’t know that about Seoul at all. Wow thank you, Tina ❤
Oh btw moroccan mint tea is complete green tea which is cooked over the stove for some extra time, then they add mint or lemon verbena or peppermint to give that iconic flavor
22.10 mums T-ts 😂gotta give it to her, made me laugh out loud!! She reminds me of me, love love her personality! Binge watched pa's two days ur videos!! New subbie :-)
I’m loving the Muslim representation. It’s rare for me to see anything like that in East Asian countries so I’m always skeptical of travelling there. Successfully changed my mind ❤

So touched when you talked about the Halal aspects of food and the Muslim community there. Love you Tina ❤️
seeing Tina shedding light on these "poor neighbourhood" as well as the Mosque and the surrounding shops for Halal food is just melting my heart

I don’t think he was rude, just very direct
