This is just a quick look at the carscope I tester I will be doing more videos on how to use this also there's a lot more features coming for this we will also be going through all the features as well in upcoming videos
Portable Engine Test Tool
CarScope i-Tester is essentially a specialized type of engine analyser. It is a complex, multi-function tool, which can help diagnosing the engine and finding engine problems. I-Tester could be used with both gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. Currently, its main mode is a relative compression testing but several automated diagnostic tests are upcoming with a future firmware updates!
No oscilloscope knowledge skills needed. You can skip the training and set-up time of an ordinary oscilloscope and get directly to a quick, precise engine analysis;
Relative compression test
This test is only a comparison between cylinders so we can use this method to "see" if we have a cylinder (s) with low compression by comparing one cylinder to the next. Hence the term "relative".
Relative compression is the fastest, simplest way to find a low compression cylinder. This test has previously been available only on large and expensive diagnostic systems, requiring a laptop and an oscilloscope. Now it is easier than ever - with the new CarScope i-Tester that combines bothfunctions - relative compression test and automatic waveform analysis. So, the final results are displayed in an easy to understand format.
You do not have to check each individual cylinder, all cylinders can be tested in one go. CarScope i-Tester works on 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12-cylinder cars, 4 stroke, diesel and gasoline engines, DIS, conventional and Coil-on-Plug systems, and 12V electrical systems.
Cylinder synchronization
By hooking up a second probe to either the ignition or an injector, you can follow the firing order/injection sequence and know which one it is. This is not the only way to do this type of cylinder identification but it does work as a way to start with.
Important note: Because of lithium-ion battery shipping restrictions, we do not include CR2032 lithium-ion battery inside in the post packages! When you receive the tester, you have to buy a Li-Ion battery type CR2032 yourself and put it into battery holder socket inside the CarScope i-Tester. To do so, you should unscrew and remove four screws to open the bottom cover. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Yes mate I have two different types one with a printout and one just tells you whether it's good or bad

Hi, looks like a great tool but does it work on engines Mechanical Injector pumps?
absolutely nothing to do with mechanical injector pumps it works off the starter motor and how hard it has to work and overcome the compression

How do you check it on an diesel and older diesel???
Hi mate there's a few ways you can do it with this tool you can do it through the OBD2 plug if the car does not have an OBD2 plug you can do it through the cigarette lighter of some cars if not you can just go straight to the battery it works on petrol or diesel

You should have put a gauge on it to compare , I'd like to know how accurate it is , no amp clamp on starter cable ?oh ya what's the price too , thanks buddy
It's a relative compression test the whole idea is it supposed to be quick and easy you don't need an amp clamp even on an oscilloscope to do a relative compression you can still do it through the battery
'accurate' it assumes the best cylinder is 100%, it has no idea what the psi is, and well thats all it can do, it doesnt know if they all are bad, but chances are any issue means that leak isnt even and thus is an issue. of course you still need to do a real test, this is a quick guide, esp for cars with awkward plugs these days
if we have more than 4 cylinders 5 6 8 12 ?
Hi mate yes it will go up to 12 cylinders but there is only limited testing on 12 cylinders they are always updating and doing more testing

cars could build this in, but same can be said of the codes, but they dont let you have them easily either, it could be handy for the car to know, it could then cut off fuel and save the cat from getting poisoned
no mate I don't agree I don't think I should have this built-in because then they won't come to me to get it done lol modern cars will shut down if they find a problem with the injector fuel flow problem so that isn't an issue

@@jusb1066 some cars have pressure sensing glow plugs and some of the cars do it in other ways
Especially the new common rail diesel engines they also will be able to shut down and injector and all of them if the right fuel pressure isn't correct

The principle of the relative compression test is based on tracking the battery current/voltage changes during cranking to determine the compression values of all cylinders.
The relative compression analysis does not measure the actual pressure, but just compares one cylinder to the next. Hence the term "relative".

Is the data change incorrectly if the battery or the alternator was not in good shape ?
@@ahmadhassounmusic6053 They both have to be in good conditions. The battery is not so important because we check it during cranking. If it is not good the test will not continue.

Hello, question how does the tool work I only see the cable that's connected to the battery is there something am not seeing thanks much
It's measuring the difference in voltage peaks while cranking. A good cylinder will cause a greater voltage drop as the compression is building... a weak cylinder will not.
