    Definitely my fav Behringer clone so far, it sits so well in a mix and that bass really is phat without being muddy.

    These clones are all great. I have the MS-1 and Model D. I will probably get the Pro-1 and the Wasp.
    It seems that there will be new synths introduced at the winter NAMM.
    To be honest, I would prefer a higher price (50~100 euros) to get better quality because I read some reviews where people have to change their unit to get a fully functional product. Having a Model D for 400 euros instead of 300 is still competitive if the quality is here.
    Behringer shouldn't think about being the most affordable only, but being the best compromise between quality and price.

      Arka Sonus I’m not sure if they need to increase the price. I think they might just need to slow down the production process a little to make sure that the design and components are well sorted and tested before doing the mass production and deliveries. It’s like with buggy video games, a lot of people will let a studio have as much time as they need to get a better finished product rather than pushing something broken out the door. After this whole generation of “early release/work in progress games” most consumers can respect developer delays if it means they will get a fully realized product.

      No thank you. I want them to keep being at such a low price so that everyone can afford one. that 50/100 EUR difference is a huge one. A price hike of 33% is way too much. Really makes the difference as to wether some people can afford it or not.

      I won't get the Pro 1 module, not because I dislike it but I know for sure that they'll release it in the same format as the Model D. I just can't believe that people complain about the price of the Poly D. I really think they'll be releasing all their modules in this form factor, as a keyboard player this would be an insta buy for me.

      @@markrowe8477 They have filled in a trademark "Pro 16", I think this will be a Pro 5 with 16 voices, they also filed for a trademark for a "Pro-800", thats a Prophet 600 clone I think B's version will have 8 voices instead of 6. They'll also do a Trident, Quadra and a few others. They will clone the JP8 for a 1000000% they have cloned the VCO chip a while ago, I believe the JX-3P and a Juno 60 uses the same chip so they could clone these synths easily.

      SYNTH ANATOMY The Keystep allows you to play a sequence on one synth, while playing solo/lead on another synth simultaneously. The Pro-1 would probably sound great with a Dreadbox Erebus in this duo mode. 🤔

  • @exmachinema
    @exmachinema 2 года назад

    TBF, the original Pro-One slide switches were also pretty crappy. How quickly can you change through the octaves control? The inexpensive rotary switches used in the original Pro-One didn't lend itself to using quick octave changes as a performance option, I always felt like I was going to break it, unlike the wonderful octave knobs on the Yamaha CS-15. Thanks, and thanks for the review!

    Hey nice review how does the pro1 compares to the neutron in sound possibilities? This one sounds really good

    • @synthanatomy
      @synthanatomy  4 года назад +2

      thanks! Well, the Pro 1 is a clone of Sequential Circuits Pro 1, the Neutron has an own character. You can do more experimental sounds with the Neutron thanks to the patch bay. The Pro 1 is more the synth for classic bass, leads and sync sounds.

    Does it transmit midi for each knob? Would be cool to use it as a controller for the U-He Repro 1, to make sounds at the same time in HW and SF and have the possibility to save presets in Repro..

    • @synthanatomy
      @synthanatomy  2 года назад +3

      nope, it doesn't transmit knob MIDI CC. It's an all-analog synth without MIDI CC. The MIDI implementation is very rudimental with note on/off, pitch, and mod

    • @tolfred
      @tolfred 2 года назад

      @@synthanatomy Ok, thanks for answering! Too bad they skipped MIDI CC, but I guess it keeps the price down at least

    • @synthanatomy
      @synthanatomy  2 года назад +1

      @Marissa Lipschutz Not possible to fix it. You need to re-engineer the entire synth circuit from scratch and built in a microcontroller that handles the MIDI CC for each knob. That would the raise price of the synth by 2x probably. The Behringer Pro-1 is an analog synth like the original Sequential Pro One was with no MIDI CC. Check the Toraiz AS-1 if you find one second hand. It's basically a Pro-1, one voice of Prophet-6 with MIDI CC, sequencer , etc.

      Still I wonder which part of Behringer gear people think is going to breakdown? Because it’s made out of the same parts as the moogs. Transistors and capacitors really don’t have different levels of quality, just have to choose the right ones. And maybe there are some concerns with the firmware, I don’t know, but I have a Casio, cheaply made that has lasted 30 years so....

    • @triumphadelic
      @triumphadelic 4 года назад

      well all Behringers HAVE a 3 year warranty so if they do break within 3 years you can get a new replacement..... with another 3 years warranty ... and you have to be prepared to maintin this type of kit in the future ...old Roland kit doesnt work forever and you will have to factor in £X hundreds for 909---808---303===106 etc for a guy to service....

    • @JoseRodriguez-cl7be
      @JoseRodriguez-cl7be 4 года назад +1

      I get what all you guys are saying, I don't know much about hardware synthesizers but, I'd had issues with behringer in the past, (dj mixers, console mixers), also I am from latin America and there is one thing I can say for sure, all the warranties people talk about in this US and Europe, don't work in Latin America. So, when I buy audio gear I can't count on a warranty service from anyone, that's why I stress on the issue of durability.

    • @triumphadelic
      @triumphadelic 4 года назад +1

      @@JoseRodriguez-cl7be correct///you are right about older Behringer stuff breaking ... most Behringer ive had esp DJ mixers , also the bass v-amp thing broke and i swore no more B ever. But I ill risk again ...ive not bought any of these new pieces ...i have old original stuff that covers most textures im interested in so I dont need or want but the model D and Pro 1 tickle my fancy... are you in Panama Jose? I tried to find a music shop Music Planet is it ? but couldnt get any info....sorry to hear Latin America isnt served properly ... thats crazy..... what about you buying from Mexico City ? sounds nice, but definitely sounds totally different than a Sequential Pro One. Sounds too clinical, too clean. The Behringer Pro-1 and SH-101 seem to emulate the originals near perfectly on a functional level, but they're missing the subtle character of the originals. The Sequential Pro One has a deep, otherworldly quality to its tone that I'm not hearing on any of these demos. It's like a copy of a painting : the strokes and colors are all there, but it's just not the same.

    • @itchyvinyl
      @itchyvinyl 4 года назад

      Nacht Schreck I tend to agree. The 101 doesn’t sound quite the same as the OG either. However in the context of a full mix including FX, those subtleties are almost a non-issue.

    • @profd65
      @profd65 4 года назад +5

      That's bullshit. It doesn't sound "totally different." The only way you're telling them apart is by looking at them. I'm not an electrical engineer, but I'm fairly certain there's somebody working at Behringer who can mimic a forty year old circuit. The only problem would be if a component in the original is no longer available--say a certain transistor. But that would also be a problem for old Pro-One's that are in need of service.

      Mate, how you going to load presets on a synth like this? This thing is crazy, and for the price factored in, it's even better, is it perfect? No, but it's pretty damn good.
      If you know synthesis, you don't need presets you can make your own sounds.
