Arya: Sanskrit for noble. According to the Vedas, Arya is a quasi-ethnic term for only those who follow the Vedic faith and who come under the Chatur Varna system of Varnashrama. Alexander was a Yavana( Sanskrit for "Greek"). Yavanas were described in the ancient texts as a Mleccha tribe, ie "non-Arya"(any foreign non-Vedic tribe, especially those who's origins are outside the Indian subcontinent).

Pure Aryans simply don't exist anymore, everyone has some Dravidian and Neolithic blood in them, not to mention, even if a pure Aryan did exist, they won't look like what their ancestors did due to changes in climate, their genetics being liable to mutation and changes, more prominent features being one that adapted to the surroundings.

I was here for three years and know tashi and these villages in depth..It's a beautiful place. Tourist come to these villages for peace.personally interacted with lots of them...Must visit place, DAH, garkhun and other villages.
I have visited all these places back in Oct-2016. People are wonderful and place is serene.

Its been proven that there were migrations of several groups of people in and out of India. Presently all northern and southern Indians are mix of ANI(aryan+ASI) and ASI(Iranian+Hunter gatherers) with admixture level differing according to individual, geographical location, caste etc. No one is pure ARYAN or DRAVIDIAN. However, back in time when Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indian, Tajikistan and some other countries were part of one Empire called Aryana, thus they call themselves Aryans. I'm from this community called Kalita in Assam, in Northeastern India. We are supposed to be pure aryans, and are the first aryan settlers of the Northeastern region. Not all kalita people look aryan due to heavy racial intermixing but once in a while I see some people from my community as fair as Europeans and also have light colored eyes. Although I don't know if this because of aryan genes, as some says we might be of Alpine origin. As for me, I'm both aryan and mongolian.

Aryan comes from the Sanskrit Arya, which means noble, superior or higher. One who has directly seen the ultimate truth ( such as rishis, munis etc.) is an aryan. We Tibetans refer to India as “Arya desh” , the land of the Aryas for that reason.
