How to say Kami Keluarga Malaysia?
I born in malay kampung, grow up at malay kampung, stay at malay state, we can talk about the race and agama, we tolerance about our culture.
But so sad, now when we talk about speaker from masjid is too loud, then become isu.
Why can't accept with hati terbuka. Now everything non muslim voice out, just become a isu. Actually we need tolerance with others.
The political had make the relationship among Malaysian become worst. The agama also force non muslims to following their rules.
Agama also bring into school even vernacular school, suppose school is place to learning knowledge not religion.
Tks for sharing the information, and knowing what happen in our country.

I was very impressed by your sharing Professor. And a big thanks to our Wong for his creativity in inviting genuinely interesting Malaysians.
I pray professor that more Muslims will hear you out. I oray more Malaysians will seriously entertain or at the very least interact with your perspective on everything you stand for.
I am a retired Christian pastor. I sincerely will pray for more open doors for you to share and influence

This conversation is a gem. I see two minds awakened to the benefits of relevance; goodness; beauty and truth. I hear two retelling of living with real people in real situations and benefiting from learning about diverse cultures and lifestyles and world views. I see a demonstration of the relationship of two racial origins sharing a spirit of brotherhood connected by similar value and common belief. I see both of you emphasising the good human being with common sense; common concern; common aspiration; common destiny subscribing to the benefits of practising truth, justice, compassion and contributing and participating. I hear you both agreeing with the sound concept of living as a family. I hear both fearing that this excellent concept of family may be another insidious tool of exploitation to manipulate and deceive for self-serving ends. It was refreshing. Thank you both for giving hope that Malaysia may make it eventually.

I think the problem is not Islam. But the Muslim community, recently, has been heading in the less-than-right direction. Very self-righteous.

All due to extremist and badly educated teachers. This began when Saudi money flowed in around the time when Islamic University was established. It was infiltration of Whahabism.

It’s the immediately family background and upbringing , the social surroundings and the teachers and education that has made our honourable Professor Tajuddin what he is today .. His father was a humble policeman with a basic brief ENglish education yet his outlook and value system had not been adulterated or corrupted. PROF is one of the rare breed of people who are dying off. We will not be able to the likes of him anymore because our education system and the people who are dishing out the the graduates ‘ are not exemplary ‘ The family unit and society has been skewed … our public education is mainly focused to prepare students to get as many A s as they can .For many the end justifies the means..Sad sad irreparable …..

We have a WAG in Kota Kinabalu comprising highly educated former civil servants. It is a mixed racial and religious group. A particular muslim member keeps posting comments that are untrue and many in the group are enraged with him. Someone posted that " Lying is HALLAL according to the Koran". The group 'exploded' with one muslim member demanding a verse in the Koran that supported the posting. The word "Taqqiyah" was referred to and it turned out that many muslims have never heard this word, let alone understand it.

TQ dear Prof...i hear your sharing with tears welling up my eyes...I reminisced about my early upbringing in my simple 'kampung life' where i grew up with so much love from my Malay childhood friends, 'pakciks', 'makciks' only to witness sadly now, the erosion of this beautiful race in place of religious extremism and intolerance...i never knew the word 'kafir' even existed until lately this word 'kafir' has been twisted loosely, arrogantly and hatefully to us non-malays to be likened as 'dirty' and 'unholy'...really???...Is Malaysia turning into an 'Apartheid' nation?...Are we to justify discrimination in the name of religion?...It's no wonder Jesus spoke a universal truth that made the Jewish religious teachers and leaders so angry,..."Dont you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean'. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. (Matthew 15)...

There is nothing wrong in being a conservative muslim . In fact that's what a muslim must be - conserve the islamic values and oppose all immoralities such as LBGTs . A moderate muslim does not mean he is un islamic either . It is up to the people . There is nothing wrong in muslims in Malaysia . In fact they are forced to accept un islamic values to accommodate the non muslims , such as alcohol consumption . Many muslims are influenced negatively due to such toleration . Furthermore the values of conservatism are also desired by other religions . In Malaysia , it is a problem simply because these good values are coming from the malays . A stigma that never seem to go away .

I think the Malay muslims in Malaysia quietly suffer from an inferiorty complex. They should not. The feelings of the Malays, Malay family or Malay groups are the same as those of the Chinese and Indians. So when Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs in India can work together in a group akin a family, why then it is not happening in this country???
