You have to 1v1 Johnny but you can't use ANY items and the other 2 party members will give you their bonus when you get the chain up. It just really boils down to guarding perfectly.
...or be like me and cheese it with Lazy Shell armor.

I used lazy shell weapon, lazy shell armour and jinx belt. The high defence was very useful, otherwise I died if I missed a couple of blocks.

This made me…a little scared to fight Johnny. Because I'm busy grinding for Frog Coins. Which reminds me, how many Frog Coins does it take to get all thought peeks of all the enemies?
