Irish club Bohemian FC actually had a kit playing tribute to bob Marley. He played his last open air gig at Dalymount park, the clubs stadium, and is immortalised on a mural outside the ground. The kit depicted a picture of bob Marley on the front. Later, it was pulled off the shelves because the photo was not liscenced or something.
Irish side Bohemians did the same thing 3 years ago since his last outdoor concert was in their stadium in 1980, and they were unable to use the shirt too
League of Ireland team Bohemians tried to put a picture of Bob Marley on their away kit a few years back but the Marley family wouldn't allow his image on the kit so they changed it to a fist. Such a shame because the kit looked sick. Their sponsor was Mr Green too
I was very curious to learn what the connection between bob marley and Ajax was. Was a little disappointed that he hadn’t been a fan of Ajax during his life but it is fascinating to learn he was a huge fan of Celtic. I think the reason why we adapted this song around 2008 is also due to the fact that Ajax was in a horrible decade. We were not champions since 2004, and would become champions again in 2011. The positiveness of the lyrics "every little thing is gonna be alright" stood by the fans and it gave us hope for the future. It feels amazing to sing this with 55.000 people.

I found the comments from the Bob Marley estate to be patronising as a boys fan. We made a Bob Marley jersey several years ago given our extensive links with the man (him having played a famous gig in our stadium in the late 70s) and bohemians being the club with punk and reggae leanings. Yet we were sent a cease and desist letter and the estate were not at all interested in coming to an agreement but for a big international club I was it's "heart-warming"
