For the power issue, try a Nitze plate. It has an USB-C and Dtap outlet, so you can do the same you do now, but in a cleaner way instead of having the usb one the battery.
I absolutely LOVE watching your builds. I have a zve10 mark 1 and the a6700 and ive modified a few of your builds for my a6700. I love the usability and creative approaches you use. Many of my clients are asking for vertical content, so I hope to try and use the zve10 for vertical options. Thanks again!!!
Great rig overall, I’d suggest using a Dtap splitter, there are some that come with voltage readouts, also power your camera with a Dtap to dummy battery that way you don’t have to bypass your switch
That’s kinda the plan, the hard part is finding the right splitter that can be easily cable managed with the rest of the rig (there’s not much space) lol. But i got one ordered, we will see!
hey man, its fascinating to watch you build rigs that look sick! waiting for my first camera (og A7c) maybe in the next 2 years lol, always coming here to to get motivated and work hard to build a rig like that someday !!
Love the rig, it looks so good! My only gripe with dummy batteries in the FX rigs is that when you have to swap batteries, you have to turn the camera off, which means if you are recording then you have to ask talent to stop and cut. I feel like I would rather power through a usb c cable or something so that when you switch your battery, you have less interruptions and don't have to stop recording because you can have the Sony battery in the bottom serving as a kind of backup battery. It also reduced the chance that if something goes wrong with your connection to the v mount then power remains.
For sure, ai prefer power delivery, especially in a camera that doesn’t overheat like this. I think I may have found a good solution, it’s ordered and I’ll give it a go
Man the CineBack looks so awesome, thats the thing was trying to make something different enough yet still as good is hard. been wanting to get my hands on one
this is the built have been waiting to see..... thank you thomas
haha Thanks!

Thanks! I do love the challenge of a clean but functional build! It’s always good to hear that people modify them and personalize them!
Me watching the video with no camera 😅
Haha I was the same way for a long time!
That’s how it starts; one innocent camera gear video and next thing you know BAM… 6 months and £3,000 later 🥲
locktight in those 1/4-20s and you'll be all set!

Thanks for the video - it's a great little rig!
Glad you like it!
Would love to know what cine lens you put on near the end of the video!
They are by ZY Optics. The set is a 20mm, 35mm, 50mm and all open to T1.0! Got a review here:

@@thomasjmcclureno problem. I love the dedication to solving the rig for the best possible solution! 💪👍
a nice small but functional rig....
Thats the goal! thanks!
Question what is the cinema lens that you are showing/using as an example with the follow focus rig

@@thomasjmcclure awesome rig though.... we close to 10k subs keep it up
Cool beans
Да это круто
Hay is Kent Survival your dad? You both looks and talk the same way.
Haha no but my dad is super similar to him without the ear piercings, big outdoors guy
mine's bigger.
This is the setup i was looking for. Cineback is just a glorified d tap splitter
Glad you like it! I love the look of Cineback! If i wasn’t trying to make a more unique rig for the video I probably would have picked one up lol
@thomasjmcclure it's definitely functional and not so much at the same time, haha. The buttons being hard to reach is one reason.
