I've had mine on order ever since a hint of this bike coming out. Its in the stock color on the video, which is one of the three stock color combos for the RISE M-LTD 20mph. Fingers crossed for end of November. My good friend owns a bike shop and has allowed me to ride an INTENSE TAZER demo, for more than a month now. This was the bike I had already ordered, but always felt it was overkill for my needs. Having ridden the TAZER as long as I have, everyday!,, which is a powerful, DH oriented, fairly nimble in twisty single-track, and on the heavy side ebike, will give me the ability to write up a good review and opinion of my new RISE. I will tell you why I chose the RISE in a moment. One important topic I would like to mention concerns the comments from ebike haters. First of all,,, don't frown on this type of ebike until you ride one with a group of your skilled and fast MTB buds. Even though assisted by the motor, the bike will still make you work when riding good trails. And when your buds on their light weight regular bikes hit a longer flat or slightly downgrade stretch are zooming up to maybe 30MPH,,, you will have to really work hard to keep up. Better hope a steep climb is near , so you can catch up. That's the really fun part. The ebike will also allow you to feel fresher at the end of the ride. Fresh enough to do another lap after your friends have gone home, or have a epic ride, on the very next day. You will ride more,, because it's fun. Isn't that what its all about anyway? I am 64 years old, and raced the TEXAS NORBA series and was on the Team that is the only consecutive 4 time winners of Rocky Hill Ranch's 24 hour race in the masters catagory. My regular bike (Scott Spark), is a light weight work of art that weighs in under 19lbs. I definitely will keep it because it will have its place when the ebike is not necessary. I got two types of cancer at age 57. A tumor in my neck the size of a golf-ball, and lower tongue carcinoma. The Chemo tackled the tumor just fine within 9 weeks, (not fun). Then daily radiation for 7 weeks, on tongue cancer, which was at the muscular base of the tongue, deep down in my neck,,, it left me with a pencil thin esophagus, and a very narrowed tracheal air intake. Now! A testament for the ebike,,,,,. I have tried so hard to come back from all this. My friends however,, continued training, racing, and riding, while for 2 years I was down on my back or sitting up in bed completing every Netflix series there is. Also with a feeding tube as my only way to eat, because my throat was basically useless at this stage of recovery. My come back has been difficult. My friends have not slowed down. And with my (shop owner) friend's son hitting 21 years of age, and becoming a really, really good, fast rider,,,, it has upped the pace of all the rides we do. I do not enjoy being that last guy that rejoins the group, when they have gotten ahead, and are now waiting, for me to catch back up. After a minute or so of breathing like Darth Vader after a mile sprint, they will take off again. The ebike has given me my pre cancer legs and lungs. Sometimes I'm even in front setting the pace for training. Having fun!!!!!! Isn't this the point of mountain biking anyway??? Lastly, I chose the RISE because my friend knows about everything concerning bikes, and my needs. He sold me on the RISE by telling me that he is 100% sure that this is the ebike for me. When ORBEA finally released it on their website, and along with all the RUclips Vids,,, I know it will be the right choice.

This is why ebikes are the future. As weights and prices go down, we'll eventually hit a point where having a motor assist option is just another thing you may or may not add onto a bike. Just like derailleurs, I guess.

This is good, but right now I don't think EMTB's are ready just yet, to many little things like having to have more than one battery, and the price, they are still tweaking these things so no chance I will fork out 4k on one yet, in the future yes, but not now. Just think if you bought one a few years back, you would be pretty mad how much they have advanced considering you just paid 3k or whatever

@@antifugazi There is still definitely a premium on them right now, especially with the newer and lighter ones. That will always be the case for new tech. But aside from paying to advance the technology, you’re also paying for time. All the years you aren’t riding on one are years you won’t be getting back. It really depends on how much riding you do and how much that absolutely has to be with assistance. For some of us, that time is very precious and well worth the spend. We may not be alive for when they get cheap enough to just be a no-brainer.

I demo'd normal 50 lb Ebikes and they suck in comparison. Glad to see the SL has competition! Beware the comments bemoaning range/power. Those people want a moto and put the actual mountain biking as a lower priority.

I've ridden a turbo SL carbon 7000 euro bike and I said to myself... I would never buy an e-bike with only this power... Better buy an orbea occam as a trail bike with half of the money spent. However I'm very curious about the rise, I mean 60 nm is almost the double of 35nm and the price starts at 5999. Which is 1000 euro cheaper than the Levo, not to mention the superb geometry this bike has.

@@CarlosAntunesMTB Funny, I hardly ever use the SL in its highest power mode. Why would you? Also, the SL starts at 5300 Euro's. I'm not arguing that the Rise doesn't look like a great bike, and obviously copied the best parts of the trailblazing SL. But, facts, you know. And I don't even get your Occam comparison - we're taking ebikes. Also, I'd want to try the Rise and make sure its power delivery is as beautifully done as on the SL. Critical on technical climbing.

This ORBEA fill the gap where you want a workout but want to go far on your ebike. You don't need much power if the bike's lighter. However, if you're after a more capable 'planted' bike, this isn't the one for you.

They copied a few of the design features and even the cover for the charger port is very similar. I like Orbea’s updated geometry and overall look. I’d have liked to have seen it pointed out that the Specialized motor is over 600g lighter than the EP8. I’d also like to see a range test between the SL and the Rise. The SL is a 48V motor and is very efficient. The EP8 has more punch, even detuned. I look forward to an in depth head-to-head review.

Struggling to even find a Rise to try for size . At 175 cm I am right on the limit of the M . I did have a Canyon Spectral:On 7 and that was a Medium . Loved it but ultimately too heavy for me hence why the Rise is on my shortlist . I managed to try the Levo SL and was medium on that .
Do you think I will have to go for the L in the Rise? Lot of money so need to get it right

I really don't mind my emtb looking like it has a motor etc not in any way worried about others opinion if that's a concern for some, for me a 500w external battery is better for swapping with a spare which I can carry because its more compact, better in the winter as I can keep it out of the cold for storage and charging.Having everything internal may look swish but maintenance and repairs can be a lot harder.A little extra weight can actually help off road, each to their own and probably a nice ride but I'll stick to my old full fat mk1.
