As soon as a parent says “well there’s always gonna be bullies”, you know they make choices based on their preferences, not what would actually benefit the child.
Exactly. Yes there will be bullies in school but they are generally legally obliged to be there while the parents have made a choice to expose their children to those internet bullies and trolls for their own financial gain. I would love to know how much of it was being put away for the children's futures.
In this situation sure but, I don’t think so generally: people use it as an excuse to course issue for all sorts, like disabled parents for example.

I used to work at a sailing club that the SJ’s were members at, it was a small family run business and they never paid their membership/parking space fees for their boat and owed the club thousands. We had to constantly chase them and they never responded. For people who clearly have a lot of money it always shocked me how they could take advantage of small business’ who their fees pay for their livelihood. They’re not good people in any sense.

I just loved when she asked a serious question about how being on social media and in the spotlight as a young child might affect their kids mental health and he answered by questioning her how her kid would react to her being a journalist.... Great answer 😃👍

There's also a huge difference between kids getting mad or upset by something their parents did before they had them simply as normal individuals who make mistakes and between their parents doing wrong things to them by exposing their lives online. I can't imagine what it's going to be like for them as adults when they have to look for a job and their employers can easily find out every single thing about them since their birth, or when they start dating etc. The content is available everywhere on the planet. There is no escape for them even if they leave the UK.

This. That's the thing that I took away from this regarding the mother. You can't protect your children from harm, but that in no way lets you off the hook from TRYING. In the absence of our ability to prevent harm, instilling preparation is key; laissez faire exposure to harm is not the right way.
The fact I used to watch them when I was younger makes me feel ill. They are such a problematic family. Let alone their ‘punishment’ techniques…
Don’t blame yourself, especially for what you did as a child. The problems in this situation are the parents, the platforms, and the economic system that only cares about whether something is profitable instead of ethical.
I watched them religiously as a teen and loved them and felt a little like a part of the family. It kind of hurts hearing all the negative information about them that's come out over the last few years.

It's so odd how in the interview, they bring up a bunch of points family channels are criticized on and she is aware. What's disturbing is that they're very much aware of the consequences and they aren't bothered at all. Family channels treat their children as pets and not as people who will grow up into adults and will have their own consciousness and life choices. You shouldn't put your kids on the internet and they KNOW they can't consent
A lot of these people are likely narcissists. As someone with an abusive narcissistic parent, they act very similar: not caring about the child's feelings or even stopping to consider them, not seeing the child as a person but an extension of themselves to benefit them (financially, making them look good, etc), and in their mind everything revolves around them and they can do no wrong.

The kid heard his parents say "he's just going to say no to everything" and then immediately starts asking him a barrage of questions. Instinctively, the kid will say no to everything because he now thinks that's what his parents want him to do. Saying yes in this situation to a child is equivalent to telling his parents that they are wrong. A child does not want to disappoint his parents and therefore proceeds to do what he think is expected of him. The parents should be ashamed. This is a form of reverse psychology and manipulation on their end.
For some reason the combination of the child saying that their dad takes pictures of them sleeping, the chair facing the security cameras, his nonchalant response to being asked about p€dos, and the mile high club comment are giving me really bad vibes. Not trying to accuse him of anything though, just saying that all of it together is bad vibes.
Your instincts are correct! As a person who was sexually abused as a child, this father makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and my blood run cold!

the mum is literally saying exactly how she is/is going to trumatise her kids. no kid should have to choose between their comfort and safety and providing for their family. they are KIDS!!!! and there is no guarantee they will get any of the money when they’re 18

Idk what’s more frustrating that mum’s justification or the dad’s. How can put your kids in an objectively vulnerable situation and then say ‘we can’t protect them from everything”. Then justify exploiting them by using their access to private school against them as if they wouldn’t have needed to go (for safety reasons) if they weren’t blasted over the internet. The exploitation of a kid struggling with their identity hits especially hard with the ongoing attacks at families who are supporting their trans kids correctly, using examples like him as a strawman. But it still hurts to watch the signs of it as a trans person, in isolation, because any identity that isn't truly yours can hurt you but ESPECIALLY when forced upon you by someone you trust. It certainly did for the ways I was forced to conform to my birth gender's expectations. Regardless of how the kid ends up identifying, that pushing in one direction can really leave a mark. I hope they're supported better in the future.
Also no one seems to mention that I’m sure the main reason they continue to post despite the backlash is that they’re trapped with this as their only income stream?? When Anna says they would stop immediately if their kids asked them to, i wanted Stacey to ask okay so what’s your backup plan for when this inevitably happens? How will you pay your mortgage? They’ve not had normal jobs for presumably over a decade? I genuinely wonder if they’re ever had a long term plan or were always just hoping to exploit their children indefinitely. even just regular people who film or photograph their kids even though they hate it is wrong. My mom had a camera in my face since I was a kid and now I hate having my photo taken and try to look as awkward and uncomfortable as possible in photos regardless of who's taking them. I hate being photographed or filmed unless i'm the one controlling the camera.
My mom was the same way and would always try to guilt me talking about how my sister was alive for 3 days and she only has one picture of her and none with her. So I just end up feeling bad for trying to have a boundary.
I use to watch them all the time before they even had their first child. They seemed so happy and genuine at that point. I feel like after their second child is when I started noticing a shift to being money and attention hungry. It definitely stopped being about raising a happy family and devolved into using their children for their own gain. What really sealed the deal for me is how they really milked how one of their children is transgender. Video after video that’s all it was about, and that child isn’t even old enough to understand the ramifications of that informations being put out there for the world to see. It’s sad to see such neglectful and greedy parents.

When they were still daily vlogging, he would always wake the children up with the camera in their face. That was creepy enough, but now 9 year old Emilia said that 'he watches me as I sleep and he takes pictures of me', which is highly disturbing.

The vibe is so sinister and dark. Somehow this felt worse than some other family channels I've seen covered. They seem cleverer and more nuanced and for some reason this is deeply unsettling.

As a nonbinary person, I think it also needs to be said how fucking dangerous it is for these parents to be talking about their child's gender identity online for public viewing. We do not live in a fantasy world where people are always accepting of trans people -- in fact, there's been increased backlash against trans and queer equity in the UK and US for years now, and its only grown increasingly vitriolic as major celebrities (Chappelle and Rowling come to mind) voice their distaste for trans people and galvanize a transphobic audience. It is genuinely dangerous to live as an out trans person, especially if you are nonbinary or if you dont pass in a way that cis people can accept (and even then, youre not safe). Blasting your child's gender identity journey for public consumption puts them at risk for, at the very least, hiring discrimination and bullying, and at the worst can lead to longstanding harassment and violence. Plus, in the US many states are trying to codify laws stating that parents who support their trans children are abusing them by default (and I'm sure this rhetoric spreads outside of my country too) so this specific family is like, a goldmine of rhetorical support for them. My heart goes out to that child. I hope they find safety and peace.

I've never heard of this family until now but watching this video left me feeling deeply concerned about those children. The father in particular really creeped me out!
What annoys me about what they’re doing with Edie, is that they’re portraying it as them being supportive but the way they dress and act with Edie is completely different to how they dress their other daughters. Edie is always in dresses, gets to wear makeup, and in heels, almost as if they are over compensating Edies femininity. It’s great that Edie now identifies as a girl, but I feel the Sacconejolys think that means she has to be dressed up in female fancy dress every damn day.

I’m just not seeing a Mother’s instinct here at all. She’s allowing Jonathan to exploit these kids especially the trans child if indeed she is trans! Her journey should be a private one and not social media content! Not to mention they are setting this child up to possibly be bullied by her peers, discriminated against, or possibly harmed by someone not understanding and prejudice against her. I’m frightened for the children at this point!
The husband definitely watches porn, and maybe cp. The fact that he was trying to minimize the possibility that people online might look at his kids that way seemed really creepy and off to me. I’ve seen predator interrogations and he comes off as one.

I find it so annoying when parents say “there’s always gonna be bullies” because yeah they’re right, there will always been assholes in this world that you come across. However your job as a parent is to protect your kids from assholes as much as you can without sheltering them completely. So as soon as you start exposing your kids to the bullies willingly, the “there will always be bullies” argument is now invalid.

It’s easy for an adult to brush off hate comments but I think we all remember how we handled insults as children. None of us were like “oh well” anytime a bully made fun of us. It takes years of life experience to get to a place where you’re truly unbothered.

Finally, I’ve been waiting to see this. I used to go hard for them and love them when they started as a couple, engaged, married, then having Emilia and Edie. Later on people brought more of this to light and I was like wow, how did it pass me?
My thing with Edie is that, maybe she won't even regret her decision to transition. But what if she regrets how public her transition was??? There is NO undoing that and all of the conversations/threads/news outlets about it.
What if she doesn't want to be clocked later down the line? Her entire de*d life/name/image is video'd for the world to find and see. It could be dangerous for a trans woman to be outed in certain situations.
I'm all for being out and proud but when safety is concerned it's so irresponsible. I'm worried for her.

Already loving this channel, just because of your very normal, honest, children-first perspective on these “family channels”. There are too many people seeing having children as a permanent cash cow always on hand, and it’s disgusting. Life is short enough and childhood even shorter. Why it all has to be wasted making the parents internet fame and money is absolutely something that flabbergasts me beyond words. As someone who grew up online and made a lot of mistakes along the way (mind you I wasn’t force to, nor was I filmed but I got free range to do what I wanted on the internet bc at the time it was a new thing and my parents weren’t even aware of the things I had at my disposal with the internet) I now wish I could take back somethings, wish my parents were more aware of what I was doing and limited me. I agree, I can objectively say that no, children at that age can’t consent and don’t know the real scope of what having their lives documented means.
You know I think making videos like this discussing and documenting some of the shadier parts of family vlogging will help these kids realize the abuse sooner once they are able to access the internet by themselves. However they’ll end up stumbling on here I hope everything is going alright and if you speak out you’ll have the internet on your side.

My daughter never wanted to be a grown up woman either turns out she didn't want a period and didn't want kids because she didn't want to get shots. As she got older she was able to clarify and is very tomboy but also loves her girl friends and is just happy as her for now but dang did context really help as she grew
I’ve watched Anna since before she got married and while I’m glad she’s trying to get healthy and such, I see a lot of other behaviors that have come to the forefront, such as how manipulative their videos became over the years.

I think the parents are rushing the whole transgender journey for the kid especially when that’s the age where you go through many phases and change minds quick. Kinda scary if hormone therapy happens. This is sooo private for the children too, yes they can document this but wait till they’re old enough to consent to posting on yt. Also they’re playing into gender stereotypes too much like that’s strange especially if the dads non binary the kid could just be a “feminine” male or just likes the clothing more.
