@@scalesthecobra9685 yeah, didnt wanna go to into detail with my comment because I was tired, the idea for "Yourself" was a great one though, sad, but very good, and I like the detail they added where you can kinda see his GF/Herself when he says "just long" during the lyrics part, but I can also see how some people can mistake him for a bad guy at first glance, his intro is him smacking you away with his mic, which can be perceived as him being bad and how he looks being another way to see it wrong

The original dev for the silly Billy mod but he passed away in his sleep due to cancer so the rest of the team decided to finish the mod to honor him
The lyrics “So stay awake just long enough to see my way” is a reference to that.
@hazelbagels024 one of the sonicm.exe devs, the character we see in this song is one of his designs but he passed before sonic.exe v2 was finished

The fact that divide (a mod/dev for the sonic.exe mod) died from cancer in his sleep. So somebody saw a sketch of the alternate version of Boyfriend and decided to make a mod out of it, that’s why one of the lyrics say, so stay awake long enough you would have seen my way, which means to see the creators way of the mod (plus it’s about herself/girlfriend which is a mix of both)

The fact the moderator divine ( divide) last work work was this masterpiece... Truly a wholesome tribute to him .. even if silly billy has other references its mostly about the stay awake part and proud part where the creator of this is giving a proud tribute to divine
This song hit so hard for me because of the lyrics and the execution of the vocal delivery/intensity in the video. As someone who wants to do better in life while being in a rut, this honestly hit me so bad, I lowkey teared up- it felt like a personal wake up call. For those who doesnt know this mod is actually made to commemorate Divide who died to cancer in his sleep this also makes sense in the lyrics because Yourself is singing ''I'll make you say how proud you are of me'' implying that Yourself wants to make his creator Divide proud. And also were he sings ''So stay awake'' meaning that Divide should have stayed awake but as you know he died in his sleep.
